Where There's A King There's Always A Queen
Ch16: Poisoned

She was cornered, she was trapped. He held the knife to her eye were she could almost feel the cold blade against her eyelid. She was glaring at him even though her heart went into overdrive.

Bakura lowered the blade to her throat and lifted her head with the flat of the blade under her chin. "You thought I wouldn't notice did you?"

"Notice what," Lieghl'ah growled.

"That your heart is beating quite fast. You honestly thought I was going to take out your eyes."

"You were but Touzoku stopped you," Lieghl'ah glared.

"You really need to learn how to shut up about him," Bakura lowered the blade. "When are you going to learn that he's gone, Lieghl'ah Ishtar?" Bakura smirked.

"Ishtar? No." Lieghl'ah shook her head, "Lieghl'ah Ishtar is dead. I killed her myself."

"There's no way we're gonna find them," Marik said.

"We will," Atem took off his cape, "In Kul Elna."

"You mean the place that Lieghl'ah said her Bakura was from? Isn't that the place where you fought Bakura the first time?" Joey turned to Atem.

"Yes." Atem nodded. "But it'll take at least three hours to get there."

"What if…What if she's already dead?" Tea said.

"Don't say that." Joey told her. "Lieghl'ah wouldn't just kick the bucket on us like that and especially not on her Bakura, she loves him too much."

"Yeah, you're right." Tea said. "I'm so worried about her."

Joey pulled her in into a hug, "She'll be all right."

Duke patted her shoulder. "Come on, we better get going."

She was hungry, her stomach was growling violently. She hadn't, in this time period, eaten since she and Touzoku had that fight. Her throat was parched too, she was starting to cough and cough. She looked up when Bakura stood in front of her. He had a chipped clay bowl in his hand. She looked at him. "Here," Bakura scowled at her. He held the tip of the bowl to her dry lips and titled the bowl and he let her drink the water from the bowl. If she weren't so thirsty she would have rejected it, but she couldn't. "Your coughing is annoying me." He said as she continued to drink. When she was down he sat the bowl down and sat on the steps on her side of the tablet.

Lieghl'ah swallowed the water in her mouth. "It's not like I could help it. If your throat's dry, your throat's dry." Bakura just looked at her. "What did you put in it?"

"What do you mean?" Bakura asked.

"The water. What did you put in the water?" Lieghl'ah said. "You poisoned it didn't you."

Bakura laughed. He smirked at her, "You're a clever girl and yet you drank it."

"The water yes." She spit out thick saliva, "The poison no." Bakura snarled. "The poison had all seeped to the bottom. It was bad batch, you moron."
