It's lunch time and Eugene walks excitedly down the hallways. He rushes to the canteen and already sees his girl waving at him. Smiling, he walks towards her and greets her by a hug and a kiss on the mouth. A few girls at a table next to them are glaring jealously at Punzie who seems to be dating one of the most handsome guys in the school. Though his handsomeness, he doesn't really have that many friends. Jack's his only best friend and next to him, Eugene maybe has five other fellows he really likes and spends time with. That's all, no big clans of boys and girls swarming around him and no fan girl clans who want to touch his hair or another body part of his and then could die in peace. And to be honest, Eugene is quite content with that. He has one girl and that's enough for him.
"EEeeeyyyy sweetieeee !" The short haired brunette exclaims. "Haven't seen you in a long time !"
He laughs. "Honey, we've seen each other yesterday. It hasn't exactly been that long..."
Rapunzel raises her eyebrow. "So... you're saying that you were perfectly fine without me and that you didn't miss me ?"
"What, no, I didn't say that... I'm, I was trying to.. Never mind, I'm happy to see ya !" Eugene corrects himself. Punzie places herself next to her boyfriend and lets her head rest on his chest.
"So where is Jackie boy ?" She asks.
"He's still in class. Talking to Ms. Winters, again ! I mean, it's ok to be nice to a teacher but he's waaayyyy to nice. You know, he really likes her and just stares at her during class. I wonder if she notices, I mean it's plain obvious to everyone that he's staring again."
Rapunzel raises her eyebrows and grins. "Oooooeeeeehhh, so he's in luuuvvvvveeee with a teacher !?"
"Shhhhh, and yeah I thinks so too. He hasn't said it with so many words but I'm pretty sure about it. I mean, the only thing he talks about is: Have you seen what she wore today ? Have you seen how pale she is, it's really beautiful. Have you seen her hair, it's in a bun this time. Have you smelled her ? Did you know she's left handed ? Did you know that she speaks too many different languages ? I mean, it's like all the time about Ms. Winters. Not that I dislike her, she's really nice and funny, but sometimes I just can't hear another thing about her." Eugene confesses.
"Aaaawww, well I think Jack deserves some romantic love in his life. I mean, we have each other but he has no one. Well, except for his best friend and me..."
"But he's in love with a teacher ! That's just... not done. That's so wrong ! You can't have a relationship with a teacher while you're still at school !" Eugene shouts upset.
"I don't think Jack can do much about it. He just fell in love with her and she just happened to be his teacher. I have her too, by the way. I think she's lovely." Punzie states while she stares dreamily at nothing in particular.
"Well, I still think it's weird." The boy says while rubbing his girlfriend's shoulder.
"Well, I think it's cute." She answers back and sticks her tongue out to Eugene. He grins and pulls her in a kiss.
"Are you two lovebirds done with exchanging each other's saliva ?!" Jack jokes as he pulls out a chair for himself to sit on. He laughs as he sees the faces of his friends. "Man, I was just kidding."
"Ha ha hà, very funny Mr. Funnyguy. At least we have a lover who is not a teacher..." Eugene mocks his friend who sticks his tongue out and makes a face.
"It's not my fault that she is such an amazing human being !" Jack defends while raising his hands in front of his chest.
"Oh and by the way, I hope you don't mind but I told ma girl also about your crush."
Jack raises his eyebrows, then he reasons with himself and shakes his head. "Naaaahhh, as long as it stays between the three of us-... Oh there she is, I still wanna show her something !" He shouts and sprints away.
Rapunzel chuckles. "He's adorable !"
"You're calling him adorable ? What about me ? Look, I can be adorable and cute too !" Eugene pouts as he pulls his most charming face on.
His girlfriend responds to it by grabbing his face and pushing it against her chest. "Stop being such a baby ! Of course you are cute." She laughs.
Elsa sits on a bench in the canteen. She sits alone. She doesn't mind, she likes being alone sometimes. It's crowded in the canteen and young woman and men are chatting and bickering and eating. Some couples are kissing and cuddling all the time. Others are fighting over a sandwich or over other issues. Elsa smiles, young people are so funny to watch.
"Hi." A voice greets her. She immediately recognises to whom it belongs.
"Hi Jack. Aren't you supposed to be with your friends right now ?" She asks.
He smiles. "You are one of my friends..."
Elsa melts completely. Oh my god, he's such a cutiepie ! Then she notices the map he's carrying. "What is that ?" She asks while pointing at it.
"Oh, this is my portfolio. I wanna study art, when I graduate here, because I find it very interesting and beautiful. I made a few things and I thought about showing them to you, to see what you have to say about it, before the official admission gets to see it." He answers and smiles shyly. "Maybe you could give me some tips and tricks ?"
"I would love to see it, I myself am a huge art fan and I'm honoured that you would want advice from me."
Jack opens his map and shows her the first drawing. She gasps as she recognises who's face he drew. "Whoa, Jack ! That's... really well done. I mean, would you just look at that, it totally is me."
Elsa studies her drawn face, she lets her fingers glide over the pencil lines and keeps complimenting about how well it turned out. The second drawing is made digitally and shows a horse frozen in his tracks. Every time when he shows her a drawing, she gasps and states how amazingly beautiful they are and how talented he is. Her main advice is that he has to focus not per se on the skills but on what he sees and how he wants to bring that over onto the paper. He has to work on only that. The rest is going pretty well.
They sit closely next to each other and talk softly, almost whispering. Lunch break is almost over and both of them will have to return to class soon. And they are having such a wonderful time with each other that they don't notice how almost every head in the canteen is turned towards them to see how a student and a teacher are having a good time together, maybe even too good. Suddenly, in the middle of their conversation about whether something should be called art or not, a tall shadow darkens them.
Elsa gasps as she looks up. It is the headmaster, Mr. Weseltown.
"So, having a good time ? You know, everybody in the school thinks that something is going on between the two of you and now I've noticed too." He grins.
Jack stands up. "Sir, what we have is perfectly normal. I showed some of my drawings to hear what she had to say about them. And she thought they were beautiful, no smuzz or other love things going on. The relationship between us is perfectly healthy and normal. And you have no right to interfere with our business, that's something between Elsa and me." The boys says brave but his heart beats twice as fast.
The creepy old man laughs. "So... you're calling her by her first name ? And that's supposed to make me believe that the two of you have a perfectly normal relationship ? I didn't think so."
Elsa squeezes her eyes together and frowns. Shit Jack, bad mistake. And I don't recall giving you permission to call me that in the first place. But still, it was very brave of you standing up to him like that. Because he is sooooo creepy ! She stands up, next to Jack and stares fierce into Colton's eyes. "Sir, we have come to the point that we are seeing each other as friends rather than student-teacher. Of course, in my class he's my student and I don't treat him differently from the rest. But when my class is over, he's no longer my student and therefor we address each other by our first names. I hope this is not a problem ?"
Colton narrows his eyes and tries to look as intense as he can to Elsa. She raises her eyebrow and folds her arms in front of her chest while leaning on one leg and sticking her hip a bit out. She looks sassy. Colton opens his mouth to say something, he can't come up with it immediately so he shuts his mouth and looks... well, stupid. Elsa smirks. She got him again ! Speechless... You're so easy to shut up.
"You better watch out madam, things could get real tricky if you continue this nonsense." He threatens her while moving closely to her and waving his finger at her. Sadly for him, she's over a head taller as he is, so it doesn't really effect nor impress her.
"Sure. Thank you so much for understanding. Have a nice daaayyy." She mocks and waves while he walks away. As soon he's out of sighs, she sticks her finger in her mouth and makes a gagging sound. "Uurrrhhhggg, he's giving me the creeps. He's such an ass. Can you imagine what I have to put up with during meetings ?!" Elsa complains.
The boy laughs. "Thanks for helping me out back then. And sorry for calling you that, I should have been wiser, we're still in school."
"No, it's ok." She answers while putting her hand on his shoulder to comfort him. Then, she suddenly hears a boy and a girl bursting out into laughs. She looks in their way, tries to say something and then just is really confused. Then, she decides to look back at Jack who is raising his shoulders. "I think you should go back to your friends. It seems they are having quite the laughs about something that might involve you." She says softly.
He nods. "Yeah, they always do that. He especially." Jack points at Eugene who is holding his belly from the laughs. "Thanks for viewing my drawings !" And with that, he rushes to his friends feeling quite embarrassed.
Elsa stares him after. He's so nice and gentle. He's so young, even though we only differ about five years. But it's just wrong, we can't be friends. I'm his teacher. He's my student. I have to let this go, this will never work out. Besides, when he makes it to the next class, I won't be teaching him anymore. If only he were older...
Meanwhile, Eugene and Rapunzel watch Jack and Ms. Winters eagerly as they are bonding together. Rapunzel looks with a mollified face at the two of them who seem to have a great time. "N'aaaaawww, Eugene admit that you find this cute." She demands.
He pouts. "Ok, a bit. But I still think it's weird."
The maths teacher makes a comment which seems to be funny because Jack laughs and moves closer to her. Their faces are almost touching.
"And now kiss." Rapunzel jokes.
Eugene looks at her with wide open eyes. "You are shipping them !? OMG, Punzie you're going too far !" He exclaims.
She laughs as she pats his shoulder gently. "You should have seen your face when I said that ! Relax, it was just a joke... Wait, if we ship them, then we have to give them a name !"
"No. No way, we aren't shipping them. You are. Don't involve me please !" The boy shouts.
"Ok. What name... Wait, do you know what her first name is ?"
Eugene shrugs. "Isn't it obvious, Jack has mentioned it like, I dunno, maybe a hundred times. Even to the point where it became really annoying and I told him th-..." Punzie gives him the look. "Fine, it's Elsa." He says shortly while crossing his arms in front of his chest.
"Thank you. It's a really pretty name ! So Elsa it is then. Elsa and Jack... Eh, Elsack ? No that just sounds gross." The brunette thinks out loud while tapping her chin. "OH I GOT IT, I ship them as Jelsa ! Eugene, whaddaya think ?"
"Ehm, it's pretty creative. That's what I think. But I do like the sound of it, if we now are talking about them, we just can call them Jelsa." He compliments her. "Smart of ye Punzie."
"Anna, what exactly are you doing ?" Kristoff asks while he's bend over Anna's shoulder to look at her documents that are spread out on the table. She's been reading and writing and calling all afternoon and he wants to know why. Not that she hasn't given him an answer already, well more likely rambled all over the place and he couldn't make a thing out of it.
"Seriously Anna, who do you wanna find again ?"
The strawberry blonde turns around and looks at the blonde guy with a dorky face. "You are so... dumb. Well, not dumb but you do forget things easily. Does it run in your family or something ? But I don't think you're dumb, you're cute and funny and so hot ! Wait, did I just say that out loud ? Forget it, I wanna find my aunt. Apparently, dad has a sister who has a daughter. I wanna find them, I wanna meet them. I wanna know why we don't see each other and why we don't have contact with them. They're the only family here in the States, the rest lives in Europe and they kinda hate us."
"Why do they hate you ?"
Anna sighs dramatically. "Well, it's because my dad's family couldn't cope with our movement and it was kinda unpredicted and unannounced. So from then on, they never contacted with us anymore. Leaving us like that ! BUT, that's all in the past because at school, I found certain documents saying that we have family in the States. And best of all, they live in our neighbourhood ! I'm trying to locate them right now."
"Does... your father know about this ?" The blonde muscular man asks carefully.
"No, he doesn't. And he doesn't need to know, for now. I just wanna find out who and how they are and then I'll see if I'm going to introduce them to him. Of course I would have to but I just wanna tell him myself at the right moment. It'll be quite a shock for him, I believe so we need to do this at a calm moment. I still have to think about when but I'm sure I'll figure it out."
Kristoff nods carefully. "Aaannndd, are you going to call them ? And isn't this like, a bit overwhelming for as well as for you as for them ? I mean, they probably don't know where you are but if they find out you live this close to each other ! I mean MAN !"
Anna chuckles as she cleans up her mess from the table. "Well, I already called them and they were surprised to hear from me. Anyways, they invited me over for tea this afternoon. So if you'll excuse me, I have to go to my appointment...Unless you wanna join me ?"
"Wow, that went quick then. And no thanks. This is something you have to do on your own. I wish you luck and I'll speak to you soon babe !"
"Ok." She says while she packs her purse. "Let's go meet this Lewis family."
DOING the doorbell says. After a few seconds of unlocking locks and cursing, the door finally opens. Anna faces a young woman with short brown hair and green eyes. She smiles and her eyes smile with her.
"HI, I'm Rapunzel but my friends call me Punzie. You can call me that if you like. You must be Anna !?" She greets while shaking Anna's hand.
"Yeah Hi. I'm Anna yes. So you must be... my cousin ?"
Rapunzel nods. "Come on upstairs. My family is eager to meet you." She says while she leads the way through the flower shop up the stairs.
They enter a small living room where a man and a woman are sitting on the couch. As soon Rapunzel and Anna walk in, they stand up. The woman walks over to Anna, grabs her cheeks and kisses her gently. "Anna, I'm so glad to meet you ! It's been such a long time, you've grown so much !"
The man shakes her hand. "Hi Anna, welcome to my house. I am Andrew and this is my wife, Rosalie. We're so happy that you contacted us. Please, take a seat."
After the four of them spoke for like, two hours, Anna decided that she had to go home. But when she saw Punzie, she immediately got a new idea.
"Oh my god ! You should totally meet my sister Elsa ! Come, I'll take you to her house. It's nearby !" Anna shouts.
Rapunzel shakes her head. "I don't know, we just met you know. What if it's not a good time ?"
"You don't have to doubt whether it's a good time or not. I always visit her unannounced, she's used to that. Believe me, she'll love it to hear from you." Anna says and drags Punzie with her.
"Ok then."
After twenty minutes of walking, they arrive at Elsa's house. "Now, Els has a boyfriend. Well, fiancé, his name's John and he works for the Military. He just came back. He's really sweet and they have a dog. A white shepard, Seth." Anna fills her cousin in.
They knock on the door. "Just a minute !" A female voice yells. Rapunzel narrows her eyes and furrows her eyebrows. That voice sounds familiar !
She tries to tell Anna but the door already opens. There, in the middle of the doorway is standing... her maths teacher from school ! Punzie's eyes go wide, as for Elsa's.
"Rapunzel ? What are you doing here ?" Elsa asks confused.
"Wait... YOU TWO KNOW EACH OTHER ?!" Anna interferes. "ELSA, WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU KNEW OUR COUSIN !"
Rapunzel's eyes go wide. "Elsa is my cous-..."
"Wait, she's our cousin !?" The platinum blonde interrupts. "I didn't know we had family in the States."
"Honey, what's going on ?" A male voice asks.
Rapunzel tries to interfere. "Can I as-..."
"JOOHHHNNN, WE FOUND OUR FAMILY. Well, part of it." Anna screams at John.
"Anna, when were you planning on telling me you found our family ?" Elsa demands from her sister. "I am your older sister, I should get involved in family business."
"Wait, Elsa is your sist-..." Rapunzel thinks out loud.
"THAT'S GREAT ANNA, THUMBS UP !" John screams back.
"Well, you were too busy. I tried to tell you multiple times but you just didn't respond so I though it wasn't important enough for you." Anna answers back.
Punzie is confused. "Please tell me what's g-..."
Elsa slaps her forehead. "Of course it's important, they are family !"
"CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON ?" The brunette girl suddenly screams. "Why did my maths teacher suddenly become my cousin ?"
Anna looks back at Rapunzel and gasps. "ELSA IS YOUR TEACHER ?"
A neighbour screams from his apartment. "CAN Y'ALL PLEASE STOP SCREAMING, YOU'LL WAKE THE BABY !"
Rapunzel buries her face into her hands and mumbles. "This is just great, my who-..."
Somewhere, a baby starts to cry hysterically. "THANK YOU VERY MUCH, NOW I HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE RITUALS ALL OVER WHICH TAKES FOREVER, YE STUPID TEENS !"
"EEEYYY, DON'T INSULT US. YOU SCREAMED TOO !" Anna fires back. They hear a man curse and then walking to the door in a very quick tempo.
"OOOoohhhh, just come in already." Elsa says and pulls the girls inside before the angry neighbour gets them. She sighs deeply before she slams the door shut. This certainly is NOT how I imagined I'd spend my afternoon...
Elsa closes the door and walks into her living room. John already shook Punzie's hand who's giggling like mad. "So Anna. Ever going to tell me what's going on exactly ?" The older sister asks while trying to look demanding at her younger sister.
Anna swallows. "Well, ehm. I kinda found our family back. Well, part of it ! This is Rapunzel, turns out she's family so yeah... this is awkward. Well, not your awkward it's just that I'm.. well, awkward you're a great sister. And I am just... I guess I just got overexcited about the fact that I found family and I didn't wanna tell you until I was really sure about it but then I met them and they were so nice and I just wanted to introduce our cousin to you. I didn't mean to shock you and I certainly didn't meant to piss off your neighbour. Man he's whiny little pain in the ass, really someone needs a How to cope with too much stress class ! I mean it's ju-..."
"Anna ! It's ok. Just calm down." Elsa says while looking back at Rapunzel. "So... you're our cousin and my student huh ?"
The shorter brown haired girl nods awkwardly.
"YESSS, and isn't she great !?" Anna exclaims while half-hugging Rapunzel and jumping around. The poor girl doesn't really know how to cope with her newly met ADHD cousin and just jumps along. Elsa and John exchange looks and both try to stifle their laugh.
Elsa reasons with herself and extends her hand for a handshake. "My apologies for my rude behaviour but it all was a bit too overwhelming for me. So, I am Elsa and I appear to be your cousin." She says.
Rapunzel shakes her hand. She finds it weird to stand in her teacher's house, meeting her teacher's family that actually also is Punzie's family now. "Hi, um Elsa... I am Rapunzel, or Punzie as friends call me, but you already knew that..." The girl bites her lip.
"I'll just keep calling you Rapunzel ok ? So, you already met Anna huh ?" The blonde asks.
"Yes and she's great ! I really like it that she's my cousin. And you too of course. And... what is John then ?"
Anna jumps in. "John will be your cousin too ! Isn't it nice, you gained three cousins within a day !" She squeals.
"Welcome to the family, Rapunzel" John says while he smiles as nice as he can.
"Yeah, welcome." The two sisters say at the same time. They both smile and Rapunzel can see the resemblance of both sisters. She thanks them for being so heartwarming towards her.
Anna grabs her by the wrist and pulls her on the couch. "We have a lot to discuss." She says excitedly while winking at Elsa and John.
So yeah, the end was really fun for me to write. Especially all these people screaming and not listening to one another. Hahaha, I just love Anna's character, she's a lot like me.
