As always, I own nothing, I am just borrowing the characters for a while.

Chapter Two

It had been about two weeks since Daryl and Beth had been open about their relationship. Daryl still wasn't all that comfortable with showing public affection with Beth, but he was trying. They had just gotten back from hunting, holding hands, and were heading back in towards everyone when Glenn started whistling towards them, "Look who is doing a little PDA." Daryl could feel his face flushing, and Beth was giggling away. Daryl shot Glenn a death glare, causing Beth and Glenn to both laugh harder. Daryl just stalked off to go skin the rabbits they caught.

Beth sighed, "He's still not all that good with bein' affectionate and stuff."

"I get it, he's Mr. Mysterious and shy. He wouldn't be Daryl if he wasn't."

"Yeah…he's getting better, but I don't expect him to change over night."

"So…you know, umm…Maggie and I were uh thinking, maybe you guys should move in together? Since y'all spend all your free time together anyways."

Beth was floored by the fact that Maggie, protective, crazy, older sister Maggie would suggest her to move in with Daryl. Glenn started waving his hand in front of her face, it was like she was catatonic.

Beth finally came to, "Y'all seriously think we should move in together? Like y'all would be okay with that?"

"Well yeah, I mean y'all practically live together now. You're never home, part of your stuff is already at his house. And, Maggie and I would kind of like to umm…have more time to ourselves. Have our own space, and not have to worry about you hearing or seeing things."

Glenn was turning so red, and Beth wasn't far behind.

"Wow…um…okay. Well, I'll talk to Daryl about it later."

Beth called out walking into Daryl's house "Hey Daryl? You here?"

"I'm here," Daryl came walking down the stairs, fresh out of the shower, shirtless, with water dripping all down his chest. Beth almost forgot to breathe and completely forgot what she had planned to talk to him about.

Daryl smirked at her, realizing he had thrown her completely off. He enjoyed that he could get that reaction from her, considering almost everything she does sets him off.

Beth finally seemed to snap out of her haze, "you look…very enticing…but there's something I wanted to talk to you about."

He grunted for her to continue.

"Well, after you walked off earlier…umm…Glenn kind of presented an idea to me that he and Maggie had."

He nodded for her to keep going, "They kind of…umm…think that it might be a good idea, if…if we move in together."

There, she had said it, and now it was Daryl's turn to go into a catatonic state. He just kept staring ahead, but she could see in his eyes that he was thinking things over.

After about ten minutes his brain seemed to function again, "ummm…I need to think about it."

"You don't want me to do you?" was Beth's immediate response.

"What? No! That's not what I said. I just need a little time to think it over okay?"

"Sure, take all the time, I'm just gonna go home." Beth practically darted out of the house before Daryl could get another word.

And now she's pissed at me… Why can't she understand that I just need to think this over some. I made way to go after her, but about ran right over Carol.

"Jesus Daryl you look like you're about to explode."

"Why is it everything I say always gets people mad at me?"

"What are you talkin about?"

"Beth is pissed as hell at me now."

"Well, what'd ya say to her?"

"Maggie and Glenn basically told her that she should move in with me, and I told her I needed to think about it some, but apparently that ain't what she wanted to hear."

"Did you tell her why you needed to think about it?"

"I was about to, but she went and stormed off."

"You wanna tell me why you need to think about it?"

Daryl shuffled his feet for a second before finally sighing, "I know we've been together for a couple months now, but we only been open about it for a couple weeks… I don't want her to expect too much from me… I don't want her to feel trapped, you know?"

"I get it, but I think you're scared that if she lives with you, she'll get tired of you, or find some flaw with you, and then leave you. You don't wanna get hurt. I get that, but Daryl, that girl is so in love with you. If after all this time you still can't see that then I don't know what you want me to tell you…You need to go find her and talk to her." And with that Carol was off. I really dug myself a hole this time…

After storming out of Daryl's, Beth went down to the little pond on the backside of their little community. She had often found Daryl sitting out here, and it quickly became the place they both came to think. She wasn't shocked when fifteen minutes later he plopped down next to her. After a few minutes of sitting brooding silence, Daryl finally broke the silence, "You didn't let me explain why I needed to think about it, before you went stormin' out like a ten year old."

Beth turned angry eyes on him, "Alright Mr. Dixon, why don't you tell me why you need to think."

Daryl bristled at that, yup she is pissed, "I ain't ever done somethin' like this before…never been in a relationship, and I sure as hell ain't ever lived with a girl before…it's a lot to take in…and I don't want you to expect too much from me…and I don't want you to feel trapped…"

Beth could see in his eyes that wasn't all, but that he was slightly scared. She could tell he thought she wouldn't want him anymore.

"You idiot, if I was gonna get tired of you, I already would be. I know you're not good with emotions and everything, but I love you. You don't have to say it back, cause I know you do. We can make this work. You and me can do this."

He looked at her for a few minutes, realizing she was right. They'd never know if they didn't try, "okay."

"Okay what?"

"Okay you can move in with me."

"Really?" She asked excitedly, and he just nodded. She jumped over and hugged him, with a smiler brighter than the sun. He swore then and there he'd do anything to keep that smile on her face always.
