GRADUATION

"Why is it so itchy and suffocating?" Nico whined as he pulled at his gown.

Chiron had forced him and Thalia to go to their Senior year of high school and graduate. Zeus and Hades had surprisingly backed him up and so off both of them went. Now a whole ten months later, they were sitting under the hot sun at their graduation.

"Because they want to kill us before they have to give us up as slaves forever," Thalia answered, swatting Nico's hand away so that he would stop pulling at his collar.

"There is no way I would be able to reach my weapons in time let alone fight in this thing," Nico complained.

"Then you should be grateful we haven't been attacked yet," Thalia snapped. She loved her boyfriend, but there was only so much of his complaining he could take.

"Thalia Grace and Nico di Angelo," the principal announced.

"You'd better not jinx it," Nico muttered as they both got up to receive their diplomas.

Nico and Thalia laid curled up together on Nico's bed in his cabin.

"Congratulations," Thalia said.

"What for?" Nico asked.

"For graduating and escaping eternal servitude to the schooling system," Thalia answered.

"Congratulations to you to. I'm really glad we're done with that."

"Now we can learn more important things like how to fight and kill monsters. I think I've grown a bit rusty over the past ten months and I've been meaning to practice more with a sword. I mean I can fight with one, but I'm starting to think I'm relying too much on my bow and spear. I need to branch out a bit. What?" Thalia asked, catching the look on Nico's face.

"I love it when you talk weaponry to me," Nico said.

"Oh really," Thalia said, quirking her eyebrow.

Nico nodded as he leaned down and kissed Thalia slowly and passionately. Both of them pulled away a bit breathless. Nico rested his forehead against hers.

"Why don't you pull out your sword and show me a few things," Thalia said, smiling at Nico suggestively.

Nico gasped as he felt her hand on him.

"No, definitely happy to see me," Thalia whispered before pushing Nico down onto the bed and kissed him.
