A few days pass and I decide to go to work.

"You need to talk Alex?" Uncle Ruben asks when I enter the shop.

"No, I came to work." I reply back.

At first he smiles but it drops quickly. "How about we work and talk?" He suggests.

I agree, maybe working will help keep me calm.

"So what happened little one?" He asks as he cleans a spark plug.

"Well I did what we discussed. I laid all my feelings out on the table and she didn't take it." I answer taking out a different spark plug.

"So you left it in her hands?"

I nod. He seems impressed, I mean I tried and that's all I really could do at that point.

"Wanna go under the car and start on the oil?" Uncle Ruben asks.

I listen and slide under the car. Getting this oil out is a little harder than usual. It's probably stripped. Shit.

I feel a tap on my foot. Uncle Ruben must notice how long it's taking me. I slide out and say, "I think it's strip..."

My words don't form due to a beautiful girl standing above me.

"What's up?" I say as calmly as I can handle.

Mitchie looks uncomfortable. "Can we talk?" She whispers.

I nod my head and lead her to uncles office. My uncles in there looking through one of his filing cabinets. I clear my throat and he turns around.

"Hey," he says awkwardly.

"Hey do you mind if Mitchie and I talk in here for a little bit?"

He agrees and gets out quickly. I shut the door and sit on his desk. "What's up?" I repeat calmly.

She looks upset. Her eyes are dark and I'm not sure whether to take that as a good or bad sign. She pulls something out of her pocket and hands it to me. It's my money.

"Oh, I see." I sight. She's completely giving up on me now.

I stand up and say, "well then, I guess I'll go back to work and I'm sure you have a date to catch or something."

I start to walk towards the door but she grabs my arm.

I turn around and she gives me a smirk. "No Alex, I want you, but I want is both to work for an apartment. Together, I'm getting s job out here so I can help. I want us to do this together, not just you."

I feel a smile come to my lips, but before I get too excited I ask, "then why were you making this so hard the other day?"

She shifts her feet and answers, "I was mad, but you were so calm. I don't know I was being unfair. I'm really sorry. I miss you so much."

I pull her into a hug. "I've missed you too Mitch."

We pull apart and I look into her beautiful brown eyes. Those things are hypnotizing.

I grab her hand and say, "let's go find somewhere. I'll hold us up and when you get a job then you can help. I don't want to ever sleep without you again."

She pulls my face towards hers until our lips meet. We pull away and it's her turn to speak, "I don't want to either Alex. I love you."

I brush a stray piece of her hair behind her ear and say, "I love you too Mitchie. I always have."
