Husband's Love
"Hello, wife." Kuon said as Kyoko got out of the car next to his.
Kyoko looked up at the handsome man next to her. "Hi, Kuon. How was your photo shoot?"
Kuon put his arm around Kyoko's shoulders and started walking toward the door into the complex before answering. "It went well. They gave me some of the clothes as a thanks. Did you enjoy your visit with Maria?"
Kyoko nodded excitedly with a big smile on her face. "It was perfect! We had lunch and got caught up, since its been awhile since we've seen each other. She brought a sketch book with her. It was full of designs for dresses."
Kuon gave her a questioning look. "Dresses?"
Kyoko noddeded as she and Kuon stepped out of the elevator. "She told me that she wants to be a designer when she is older. Specializing in dresses. She's young but a very good artist. Her drawing were beautiful." She went to unlock the door when Kuon stopped her. She gave him a puzzled look. "What's wrong?"
Kuon gave her a grin as he pulled a blindfold out of his pocket. "Nothing is wrong. I just have a surprise for you. So you need to put this on."
"But-"
Kuon cut her off with a kiss. "No buts. You'll love this. Trust me."
Kyoko huffed but allowed Kuon to put the blindfold on her. She heard him open the door and let him guide her inside. She bend down to take off her shoes but Kuon stopped her again.
"Let me. I don't want you to hurt yourself."
"I'm not that clumsy." Kyoko grumbled as she carefully sat down and felt Kuon remove her shoes.
Kuon chuckled. "I'm not saying you are clumsy. I'm just saying that it is hard to do things when you can't see." He quickly took off his own shoes and put his arms around Kyoko, lifting her princess style as he stood. He carried her to the living room and gently set her on the couch. "I'll be right back. Don't take that blindfold off until I tell you to."
"Alright," Kyoko replied as she rolled her eyes. 'What is he doing anyway?'
Kuon was back in less than a minute and sat down next to her. "Okay, you can take it off now."
Kyoko lifted her hand and untied the blindfold, letting fall into her lap. She gasped as she saw what was in front of her. On the coffee table was a large vase full of Queen Rosas. Tears sparkled in her eyes as she turned toward Kuon. "Kuon-" But she stopped when she saw Kuon was giving her his heavenly smile.
He took her hand and put a small box in it as he spoke. "I know that we have only been married a short time and that we aren't parents yet but I had to do something special for you today, Kyoko. You are my one true love, the light of my life, my wife, and the future mother of my children. Happy Mother's Day." He leaned forward and gave Kyoko a soft loving kiss.
Kyoko was openly weeping when Kuon pulled away. She couldn't talk and covered her face with her hands. Kuon's gift falling onto the couch next to her.
Kuon quickly got worried. "Kyoko," he asked as he reached out for her hands. He carefully pulled them from her face.
Kyoko pulled her hands from Kuon's grip and threw them around his shoulders, hugging him tightly. She laid her head on his shoulder and continued to cry for a few minutes.
Kuon wrapped his arms around her waist and held her just as tightly. He rubbed one of his hands up and down her back to help her calm down. It took awhile but she finally did. "Are you alright, Kyoko?" Kuon asked in a whisper.
Kyoko pulled away from him and smiled. "Yes, I'm sorry for crying like that. It's just I've never really celebrated Mother's Day before because... well..." Her voice faded along with her smile.
Kuon wanted to hit himself. 'I'm so stupid. Of course this day wouldn't have good memories for her because of the woman that gave birth to her. We'll have to change that and always make sure that this day is a happy one.' He wrapped his arms around Kyoko again and held her close. "I'm sorry, Kyoko. I didn't even think about that woman. I was just thinking about how we'll eventually have children. How I'll get to see you swell with our child. Imaging watching you playing with our children and teaching them how to cook, getting them ready for bed together, watching them grow up together."
Kyoko had tears in her eyes again. "Oh, Kuon. I want those things, too. But will I really make a good mom?" Her voice was quiet as she pulled away slightly to look at Kuon's face. "My mother-"
Kuon cut her off with another kiss. "That woman isn't a mother, Kyoko. She gave birth to you, and I will always be grateful for that, but she isn't a mother. Though, that isn't the point here. The point is that, yes you will make a good mom. Better than good, you will be wonderful. You've always been wonderful with Maria and you be just the same with the children that we will have. And if you have any questions you can just ask Mom. She would love to give you advice and help you in anyway you need, and I'll be there with you the whole time."
Kyoko smiled and kissed Kuon again. "Thank you, Kuon."
"You're welcome. Come on we need to get changed. We have a reservation waiting for us."
"We do?" Kyoko asked even as she and Kuon got up. "Where are we going?"
"You'll see," Kuon replied as they made their way to their bedroom.
A few minutes later they were leaving the apartment, both had smiles on their faces. Kuon's gift forgotten on the couch. It would be found when they got back and when Kyoko finally opened it she would find a set of earrings shaped like roses with a matching necklace.
Hi everyone! I know that this is a little late for Mother's Day but I still had to do it. I hope that you all liked it.
