Title: What Do You Miss?

Summary: Alice asks Carlos a question - what do you miss the most about life before?

Disclaimer: I don't own Resident Evil, if I did Carlos would not have been in that fuel tanker!

Alice sat with her legs dangling over the edge of the fuel tanker. Carlos sat beside her, one knee raised so that he could rest his chin on it, the other dangling down with Alice's.

He had followed her up here after the meeting where they hade made the decision to head for Vegas. However, since he had come to join her, the two had not spoke. Alice seemed quite content to sit and stare up at the stars.

"What do you miss the most?" She said suddenly, tearing her gaze away from the stars and over to him. He raised his head up from his knee to look at her.

"About life before?" He clarified. She nodded, and he turned his gaze to the stars, pondering.

"Not living in fear." He admitted. He didn't have to explain what he was talking out. It was probably what everyone missed the most. "There's so much to be afraid of. Being bitten. Someone you care about being bitten. Infection…." He shook his head in disgust at it all - and Alice averted her eyes, looking back towards the stars.

"I miss showers." She said with a smile. He allowed himself to laugh warmly. "Or baths. I'm not too fussy. As long as there's hot water." She added.

"Or a nice hot meal. Mmm - a roast dinner." He mused, thinking about it.

"Take-out and a movie." She chirped.

"Going to the cinema."

"Going shopping." she countered.

"I miss my bed." He pouted. They both laughed for a few minutes before Alice stopped, clearing her throat. He allowed himself to stop as well, sensing she had something important to say.

"There are something things I don't miss though."

"Such as..." He prompted, a boyish grin playing on his face.

"I don't miss this." she said, reaching her hand across to rest on his. With a soft smile, he took her hand in his and gave it a gentle squeeze.

"Me neither."

A/N: Little Alice/Carlos drabble - again. I love these two.
