The Mark of Sage

Full summary: Sage Moreaux thought moving in with her cousin, Iris West, four years ago would solve all her problems. It was supposed to be her fresh start, the break she needed from her puppet strings; not a means to replace one master with another. Then the particle accelerator explodes, and she soon finds herself skating on thin ice to regain control of her life. In the little time she has left of it, that is. She's always wanted to make her mark on the world and come out from beneath Iris West's shadow, she just didn't know the price she'd have to pay to do so.

Prologue
So, I'm sure by now you all know about the Particle Accelerator explosion and how it created The Flash (or so he will be named later) and all those evil metahumans and all that jazz, right? Remember that stuff but not too hard because this isn't about The Flash. Well, it kind of is, but not as The Flash as you know him. But as I know him. I know him as Barry Allen and sometimes Barfolomew if I want to get under his skin. It's also about my family and how I wish I was born into the other half of it. Living in their pristine picture-perfect little world would've made my life a whole lot easier. It's why I ran away and moved in with them four years ago. Wait, who am I? Does the name Iris West ring a bell? It does? Good. I'm not her, though. I'm her cousin, Sage Moreaux. Nice to meet you! No, not that one with the movie-star looks and the designer clothes. That one. The one clutching the coffee mug like her life depends on it.
I know, I know. Girls and their coffee, but, for real, my life kinda does depend on it. You see, without a constant heat source my heart rate could slow down until I just drop dead on the sidewalk. Which can happen at any moment. Why? Well, it's because I have a lower body temperature than the rest of the world; it tends to fluctuate if I don't monitor it properly. Blame it on the particle accelerator explosion, it kinda messed things up for me. Have I piqued your interest? I have? Good. Well, sit back and relax because have I got a story for you. It has your fair share of bad guys and super powers and betrayals and secrets and family scandals and all that good stuff. I'll try and get it all out before my time comes to an end. And who knows when that will be?
a/n - So, what did you think so far? Please leave a review! I'm super excited to write this story after watching The Flash on the CW. It's my new favorite show! Grant Gustin is the perfect Barry. I wanted this prologue to sound like the intro to the Arrowverse CW shows without giving too much away for what I have planned with this story.
This story is mainly told from Sage's point of view and follows the episodes starting from season one. However, I do have my own original plotlines intertwined within the story and, thus, not every episode will play out the same way as depicted in the show. I am putting my own spin on canon so some bits and pieces will also be moved around or removed in its entirety. In short, this is not a straight up rewrite with an OC thrown in, she has her own plot and things going on around the basis of the show that I sincerely hope you all enjoy.
