Jasper's POV
Out of everything I could be doing, I just sit and think about my unborn child. I wondered if it was a boy or if it was a girl. What would we name it? How would we arrange ways that we could take care of it when its born and work to support ourselves? I should just work most of the time so Bella wouldn't have to. But then I wouldn't have very much time with our baby.
I needed to marry her. I should get her a ring and propose sometime soon. We should start looking for our own house.
I needed to stop worrying so much about it right now. There still was only about a 65 percent chance that the baby would make it. I got up and went out to the living room to distract myself.
When I walked in, Rosalie and Emmett were on the couch, and he was talking to her stomach. Now that she was 25 weeks into her pregnancy, he'd been doing that almost all the time.
"Hey, Emmett, can I borrow you for a minute?" I casually asked him.
"Yeah, sure. Rosie, I'll be back soon." He said, kissing her and getting up.
I pulled him out to our porch. "How are you feeling knowing that you guys are going to have a baby soon?" I asked him.
"It's, amazing. Triumphant. I've always wanted to be a daddy, and now finally being able to give Rose a baby, it's just a dream come true. Wait, why are you asking me that?"
"Hey guys. What's the subject?" Edward asked curiously as he came and stood over by us.
"Jas is wondering how I'm feeling about becoming a daddy." Emmett told him.
"Why so curious Jas? Are you about to be a baby daddy too? I would've never guessed! Last time I saw Bella, what was it, yesterday? She didn't even look pregnant!" Edward joked.
"You guys are obnoxious. You just jump to conclusions. By the way, Edward, how are you and Alice doing with your trying to conceive?" I asked him, trying to change the subject.
"No luck so far. We've only been trying for a few weeks though, we just need to give it time." He responded.
"Good luck. That's all I can say. Rose and I had to try for about 8 months. But look where we are now. Our little girl is going to be born in just less than 4 months." Emmett reminded us. Just as he did, my phone rang. It was Bella.
"Sorry guys, but this is Bella." I said, holding up the phone. She started talking as soon as I accepted her call.
"Hey. Uh, do you think I should tell my dad that I'm pregnant yet?" She asked me.
"Well, I don't think that you shouldn't, but Bella that's really up to you. If you want to, then I could come over and we could do it tonight."
"Yeah, I think we should. Just because I think I might be starting to show, but just barely. Like you can't see it under my normal clothes, but in a fitted shirt I definitely wouldn't look normal. And plus I am 12 weeks, like Carlisle suggested for us to tell him now."
"Ok, yeah. I'll be over in a few minutes." I promised her.
"Then maybe tomorrow, or even later tonight, we could announce it to your family, besides Carlisle and Rosalie." She suggested.
"Alright. I like that idea. I love you Bella. I'll see you soon."
"I love you too Jasper. See you in a little bit." She said, as she hung up the phone.
Bella's POV
So, Jas was coming over so we could tell my dad about our baby. It was about time. We'd known I was pregnant for 9 weeks already, but we hadn't told him, in case the baby didn't make it. Then there would be no reason for him to know about it.
Later that night, my dad was about to walk in the door any minute. I was sitting next to Jasper on the couch, waiting for him. I had put on a white fitted shirt, so we could have more proof to show him, but for now, it was hidden under a jacket. Also, we had my 6, 9, and 12 week ultrasound pictures to show him, and a pregnancy test I'd taken in the early weeks. When Charlie walked in, we walked to the kitchen with him.
"Hello, Mr. Swan. I hope you've had a pleasant day." Jasper innocently said.
"It was the same as any other. Bells, should I even wonder what you want?" My dad asked me.
"Who says I want anything?" I joked, sort of. He got that something was up since I'd made a weird fancy dinner.
"You cooked all this, you clearly want something. What is it?"
"Well, I don't exactly want anything. We just have an announcement to make, and we wanted it to be happy and special." I explained, telling the exact truth.
"Then what is this big announcement?"
"Let's go to the table. We have some things to show you with it." Jasper told him, smiling at me.
Once we were all comfortably seated, I decided to begin the announcement.
"Dad, before I get started, we've already decided everything and thought it through. We might be young for what we're choosing to do, but accidents happen, and we can't help it. So, the announcement is:" I took off the jacket and turned to the side, putting my hands on my tiny bump. "I'm pregnant."
At first I was scared of how he would react, but he just sat there in bewilderment. Then, after about a minute, he said something.
"You're pregnant? Are you sure? Completely sure?" He asked.
"Yeah, dad. I am, can't you tell?" I exclaimed, pointing to my stomach. "And we have proof. That's what's in the bag." I mentioned as I started to take out the things.
"She took this pregnancy test when she was 3 weeks along, and then my father gave her an ultrasound every 3 weeks up until now." Jasper explained, showing my father the things.
"Do I even want to know how this happened? Well, obviously I know how it happened, but were you guys not using protection? Or did you do that on purpose? Some kids do that."
"Mr. Swan, I promise you that this was an honest mistake, and I wouldn't have wanted Bella to become a mother so young, but since she has to, I plan to stay with her and be a father." Jasper assured my dad.
"Yeah, dad, this was a mistake, but we made the choice to, you know, as adults, so we're going to make the choices for the baby as adults. Also, before you even have to ask, we both did it completely by choice, and no one pressured anyone into anything."
"Well, I trust that you guys can make good decisions, and I'll check up on your plans in a few months." Charlie told us.
A little while later, Jas and I were sitting on my bed, thinking pf what to do next. Maybe think about the baby?
