"Flight 4267 to Cincinnati is now boarding at gate B5 zones 1 and 2..
Minako looked down at her ticket, checking for the umpteenth time the numbers on the paper. Normally she rode first class, but for this trip she was a regular teenager on a vacation to the U.S., which meant her ticket had zone 4 on it. She gazed out the window, not wanting to look at Rei who had come along in case she "fainted". Apparently Rei didn't trust her and wanted to make sure she got on the plane. Though it had crossed her mind…
"I contacted the camp director to let her know your plane was delayed." With a snap of her cell phone Rei pulled Minako out of the thoughts of an escape. The plane apparently needed some last minute work done before it's trip across the Pacific, which had been an hour ago.
Minako chose not to answer, still pouting . This apparently didn't seem to bother Rei all that much, as she went on unperturbed. "Now remember," she lowered her voice. "Right now your name is…?" She waited.
Rolling her eyes Minako replied "Watanabe Ayako." They had picked this alias because Rei had a distant cousin who had lived in the States until recently and owned a passport that could be borrowed. Not only were they using Ayako's passport, but with some help from Rei's phone Minako now looked like Ayako as well. Thus, no one could recognize her. She had to admit, it was nice not to worry about crazed fans and feel like a normal person for once. But she also felt very exposed without her sunglasses and hat shading her features. But it couldn't be helped, for who knew what American security would do if they saw her as suspicious.
"Ayako… Ayako!" Minako was startled out of her musing. It took a few seconds to realize Rei was talking to her again. She was going to have to get used to the new name quickly if this was going to work. "They called your zone. Don't tell me you're still considering ditching."
"No." Minako answered shortly. "And even if I was you wouldn't be a match for me." She added, one last stab for her pride. Rei didn't say anything, just took a step back, watching her with those eyes. Minako felt as if she was being taken apart under that gaze. She met it with her own, defiant, every bit a match for the priestess.
Then Rei stepped forward and gave her a swift hug. But what she left with Minako lingered even as she slipped into the crowd. "Don't do anything stupid."
