declaimer: I do not own any of the LOtR (as much as I would love to) or its characters (eiiii soo wish I did!) I only own Lindale. unfortunately she tends to be an indecisive bitch.
soo hear we go I hope you enjoy!
Heading up the stairs to her room Lindale walked through the huge double oak doors, there was a bed in the centre of the room. It had four tall posts of twisted wood that formed the frame work for the shear cream curtains that hung on either side of the bed. Across the room another shear curtain that covered the way to the balcony. Lindale crossed the room to the beautiful cream wardrobe and flicked her way through the clothes she settled on a white dress that a teal tinge to it, it was a light flowing material that hung nicely from her hips and hugged her chest tightly the sleeves were much like the skirt long and flowing. Heading to the wash room Lindale threw off her tunic and leggings and stepped into the steaming bath that had been drawn for her. After washing her hair and using various scented oils on her skin Lindale got out and wrapped a towel around her.
Aragon have you seen Lindale, she's late and lord Elrond wants her to sing.
No I haven't but she's probably hiding from him you know how he loves to show off her talent
Yeah talent for getting the attention of every male elf in middle earth and the death stares of every female elf in middle earth.
Aragon turned his head to the commotion that was beginning near the entrance of the grand hall. Peering past the various heads he caught a glimpse of Lindale.
As I entered the main hall joyous music reached my ears elves men dwarfs and all races of middle earth were dancing and celebrating the forming of the fellowship. Turning my head I see requel heading for me.
"Where have you been your fathers looking for you he wants you to sing."
"I know I know I was...washing my hair... Yes that's what I was doing."
Requel raised one eyebrow at her. "Oh come on before your father does something drastic."
Requel pushed Lindale through the crowds of people and to her father Requel curtsied "I found her my lord"
"Thank you requel"
"Lindale your up" he said as he taped lightly his fork on the glass to get the attention of the guests.
"I would like to present my youngest daughter, Lindale she shall sing for us this fine eve."
Lindale took to the slightly raised platform. 'Let's get this over and done with'
Gonna take a little time
A little time to think things over
I better read between the lines
In case I need it when I'm older
Now this mountain I must climb
Feels like a world upon my shoulders
Through the clouds I see love shine
It keeps me warm as life grows colder
In my life there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
Can't stop now, I've travelled so far
To change this lonely life
I wanna know what love is
And I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
And I know you can show me
Im gonna take a little time
I'm gonna take a little time
A little time to look around me
Cos I've got nowhere left to hide
It looks like love has finally found me
In my life there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
I can't stop now, I've travelled so far
To change this lonely life
I wanna know what love is
And I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
And I know you can show me
I wanna know what love is
I know you can show me
I want to feel what love is
And I know you can show me
Wanna feel what love is
Lindale's voice trailed off, looking around the ball room Lindale spotted the prince of Mirkwood, legolas.
People began to disperse and chatter amongst them self, Lindale took this opportunity to approach legolas. Making her way through the crowed towards the elf. At the last minute the nymph changed direction. I can't do this her cheeks began to flush red spotting the doors to the balcony Lindale exited the ball room.
Valla girl pull yourself together you can sing in front of thousands of elves but you can't gather the courage to talk to one.
"Talking to your self is the first sign of madness" interrupted Arwen
"Now who is it that you have taken a liking to my dear sister?"
"If you must know it's, legolas."
"Ah, I see… well don't look now but here he comes, Good luck." Arwen called as she disappeared inside.
"Lady Lindale, what are you doing out here." Legolas stood next to the door he just exited, the moon light shining on him. "The party is inside."
"I was just getting some fresh air, the air is quiet close in there." There was an unconfutable silence as the winds of rivendale tossed and played with the elves hair. Lindale fiddled with the ring on her finger twisting it around. The butterflies in her stomach growing.
"How are your wings?" Asked legolas breaking the silence
"I…I...Don't know I haven't tried to fly yet".
"why don't you give it a go now?"
Lindale blushed, "um yeah sure ok". Ever so slowly Lindale stepped up on to the marble railing of the balcony. A shower Teal sparkles revealed Lindale's wings the armor that had grown over each feather was not there however.
"What happened to the armour ?"asked legolas
"Oh it's retractable, see?" The shiny cool metal shot out from nowhere and covered each feather and just as quickly it was gone again.
"Well here I go." Lindale leapt into the air and snapped out her wings with 3 large strong strokes she was gliding on the warm air currents of rivendale.
Swooping down towards legolas she grabbed his hand and boldly pulled him up into the sky, Lindale waved her hand in the air before him leaving a trail of dust behind it. Legolas no longer felt his weight weighing him down he seemed to glide through rivendale's warm currents as easily as Lindale did.
"What? What did you do?" legolas said as he took in the beautiful birds eye view of rivendale's sights marvelling at how the moon lit up the waterfall and the lakes and streams around the stunning white elven buildings that just fit so perfectly into the surrounding area. legolas had never seen rivendale so beautiful
"If I had to drag your weight along I would fall out of the sky. So I made it easier just don't let go or you will fall!"
There was silence from the elven prince as he swallowed the lump in his throat looking down, he would hate to fall that distance surely he wouldn't come out of it unscathed.
Looking back up at Lindale with frightened eyes the nymph laughed light heartedly at the prince calming his nerves somewhat with her dazzling smile.
"Would you like to land?"
"Um… yes please, I just ate."
"Hahaha ok then"
Banking to the left Lindale circled around the last homely house and began to descend upon the steps of the hall of fire. Her touchdown was less than graceful the pair ended up on the ground in a tangled mess.
Detangling from each other legolas stood up and offered a hand to Lindale.
"My lady" he said playfully
"Why thank you my lord" Lindale replied
"Ahem!" Both elf and nymph spun around to see lord Elrond and Arwen standing at the top of the stairs.
"Lindale, legolas? What's going on?"
"Sorry my lord Lindale took my for a fly and well I was a bit of a burden when it came to land." Said legolas "unfortunately we had a less than graceful landing." Legolas rubbed his head a little
"Well, well, well my little girl has finally crash landed! What a surprise this doesn't happen every day." Lindale looked at the ground redness tinting her cheeks from embarrassment. Arwen put a hand on her father's shoulder and shook her head. After a questioning look to his daughter, he dismissed himself recommending that all retire for the night as the fellow ship was leaving early the next morning.
Legolas said good night to Lindale and headed to his room, Lindale however turned on her heals and headed to the stables and into the stall she had shed her feathers. Sitting down in the pile of feathers she began to make arrows with the secondary and primary flight feathers. Because Lindale's wings were quite large even for a nymph she got plenty of arrows out of them. By the time she had finished Lindale climbed in to bed taking all of her new arrows with her.
