Chapter Five
When Feliciano opened his eyes, it was already morning. Surprised that he wasn't cold like he usually was upon waking up in the mornings, he was shocked when he remembered everything he'd been through in the past few days. He'd been captured. Caught. Unsure how he was going to get away from Beilschmidt - the German was obviously very good at his job - the Italian let out a soft sigh.
At least he was warm though, Feliciano reasoned, as he let out a yawn. His legs ached slightly, and Feliciano could feel them twitching slightly, wanting to be stretched, but the car offered no space to move. Biting on his lip and running a hand through his auburn coloured hair, Feliciano let his eyes flutter shut for a moment. A gruff voice made him open them quickly.
"Don't fall asleep again, I need to question you."
Terror ran down Feliciano's spine, causing him to jump slightly in his seat. Luckily, the Italian's seatbelt made it so that he couldn't jump any higher than an inch, and he didn't hit his head on the car roof. For some reason, Feliciano was sure that he wouldn't be able to fall asleep anytime soon - adrenaline was already pumping through his veins.
Mio Dio that German was terrifying... For some reason, Feliciano wanted to burst into tears like he used to when something scared him. Deciding that now was as good as a time as any other, the Italian promptly let himself turn on the water works.
Beilschmidt had not been expecting that, that much Feliciano could be certain of. The German man's eyes widened slightly as out of the corner of his eye he noticed Feliciano sobbing into his hands. The shock died away after a few moments and in it's place Beilschmidt's eyes became slightly angry.
"You're pitiful." He stated to Feliciano, turning his eyes back to the road. Feliciano was actually surprised that they were still in the car, having expected that the German would have decided to stop driving for a while. "Now, are you going to answer my questions when I ask, or are you going to be stubborn?"
Swallowing nervously, Feliciano nodded quickly, wiping away his tears. Why had he even bothered to listen to him in the first place? "I'll answer your questions..."
The German man looked through out of the corner of his eye at Feliciano, his eyes looking faintly amused. He hadn't expected the criminal he'd been chasing for months to be so lenient now that he'd caught him. Suspecting that Feliciano would come up with a fake story to settle with however, his face quickly contorted into a scowl.
"You know the charges against you?" Beilschmidt asked, his voice laced with impatience as he started to tap his fingers on the wheel. Looking in the passenger side mirror, Feliciano quickly brushed his fingers through his hair, trying to tame his hair. After all, if he were going to jail, he wanted to look passable as a human being.
"Uh, yes, I think so." Feliciano replied, making sure to pronounce his English properly. His older brother Lovino had taught him several languages when he was younger, (despite popular belief, Lovino didn't hate every single country there was), and so Feliciano found himself fluent in English.
The blonde man sighed, looking at Feliciano with a slightly bemused expression. His expression clearly portrayed how confused he seemed to be at the fact Feliciano was uncertain with what he'd done.
"You... do not know the charges?"
As if he'd been talking to a toddler, Beilschmidt had lowered his voice slightly, slowing his words down. Feliciano shrugged slightly, looking over at Beilschmidt - surely he wasn't as scary as he actually seemed? Okay, he though awkwardly - the man was still terrifying, but maybe not to the severity Feliciano had assumed.
"Kind of, it's about when I was in London, am I right?" The Italian queried, rubbing two fingers on his chin in an attempt to try and remember. However, nothing came to mind, he'd simply forgotten what had brought him into the entire mess in the first place.
The German nodded, though he didn't make to explain anything. Instead he asked, "That USB stick, where is it?"
Feliciano stared blankly at Beilschmidt, his face slightly pale as he cocked his head to the right. "...Oh... that..."
Beilschmidt nodded. "Yes that."
For a moment Feliciano remained in silence, watching the scenery outside the window as the car raced down the road. Then, he turned back to Beilschmidt with a soft smile and slightly saddened eyes, "I don't actually know where it is. I'm sorry."
Beilschmidt turned away from Feliciano, gritting his teeth together. "You..." His grip on the steering wheel tightened, "Don't..." The car accelerated faster, "Know...?"
Feliciano broke into tears again, looking at the German in terror - he opened his mouth to say something but found that he couldn't. Instead, he let out a small sob, burying his hands into his face. After a few minutes of silence (the only sound had been the car, and Beilschmidt gritting his teeth), Feliciano looked back up.
"I-I don't know, I'm s-sorry!" He cried. "But that USB stick, it was in m-my pocket o-one minute, and then it was g-gone the n-next! The last t-time I knew I had it, was w-when I was at h-home! It's gone!"
Beilschmidt growled under his breath. "Scheiß!"
Smacking his hand on the steering wheel for a few moments, Beilschmidt continued swearing in German (Yes, Feliciano knew the language), as he kept his eyes on the wheel. Feliciano was surprised that the air bags hadn't gone off yet because it looked like the German was hitting the wheel pretty hard.
Finally Beilschmidt turned to look over at Feliciano, with a strange look in his eyes. For a moment, Feliciano was confused and uncertain, but after a few minutes he shrunk away from Beilschmidt's gazed. It was strange how Beilschmidt didn't even need to look at the road all of the time to drive properly.
"We're not allowed back to London for a while, under the duress of my orders." Beilschmidt finally spoke. "And seeing as you are my prisoner, and best bet at finding that memory stick, you are going to help me find it."

German - Scheiß (Shit)
Now I know that I said I wouldn't have any authors notes, but because I'm back from a very long Hiatus (or so it seems long to me...), I am back with a short apology for taking so long. Chapters will take a while, but I promise I will finish this story, because I absolutely love the plot for the entire story. And yes, I understand this is a short chapter, but it needed to be in order for me to get back into writing the story and the plot.
Anyway, thank you to everyone who reviewed, favourite-d and followed this story, it always makes me happy to read through all the emails.
Mint~
