Bellatrix Black groaned and rolled over, burying her face in her pillow.
'I refuse to get up.' She grumbled while pulling the duvet over her head.
'You have to it's your turn.' Her wife replied sleepily.
'Is not.'
'Is too Bellatrix Black now go, else you'll only have your hand for company for a month.' The brunette warned before turning over and going back to sleep.
Grumbling to herself the dark witch got up and made her way to the room adjacent to her bedroom. In spite of her grumbling Bellatrix couldn't help but grin as she peered over the edge of the crib, gazing at the wailing child. Carefully she lifted the baby and held it close to her chest.
'Shhhhh... You have to keep the noise down angel or you're going to have a grumpy mummy.' The dark witch whispered softly, pressing her lips to a tuft of dark hair before gazing into hazel eyes so similar to her wife's.
'Electra Andromeda Black you really are the most wonderful little thing aren't you.' Bellatrix grinned before gently brushing her nose against her daughter's. Electra Black stopped crying the instant she was in her mother's arms. Her harsh wails turning to soft gurgles as a tiny hand pulled on dark and unruly curls.
Hermione felt her heart melt as she walked into her living room. She awoke to find her wife hadn't returned to bed in the night and promptly went in search of her. The last thing she expected was to see the dark witch fast asleep on the sofa, their 3 day old daughter laying on her chest. Smiling to herself the brunette walked further into the room and placed a kiss on both her wife and child's foreheads.
'Mummy.' A tiny voice whispered from the door way making Hermione spin round.
'Morning sweetheart.' The Gryffindor smiled softly and held her arms open for the small girl who hastily ran to be swept up in her mother's embrace.
'Happy Birthday my gorgeous girl.' Hermione beamed while kissing her eldest child's cheek.
'When's mum going to wake up?'
'I don't know what you're talking about.' Bellatrix grumbled as she yawned sleepily.
'Morning mum.' The small girl swiftly left Hermione's embrace to kiss the dark witch.
'Happy Birthday Dru.' Bellatrix grinned.
'Mmmm 'Mione this is amazing! Really! I don't suppose there's any chance you could give Luna some lessons?' Harry winked playfully at his best friend while shovelling cake into his mouth.
'I'm sure your wife's cooking is more than satisfactory.' The brunette smirked.
'You've never had to suffer it.' The raven haired wizard grumbled.
'I don't suppose there's any more 'Mione?' Ronald Weasley grinned at his best friend while absent-mindedly rubbing his stomach.
'Yes Ronald, help yourself.' The brunette sighed while smiling fondly a her two best friends.
'Hermione? You're needed in here!'
The brunette rolled her eyes at the sound of Draco's voice calling her from the other room. Shooting the men an apologetic smile she hurried off to see what the problem was.
Walking in to the room the brunette froze. Her eyes widened as she looked upon the blonde woman, smirking at her from across the room.
'Cissy! You made it!' The brunette grinned before enveloping her sister in law in a bone crushing hug.
'Like I'd miss it.' The blonde chuckled before kissing the girls forehead.
'I thought you were stuck in Belgium!'
'Work can wait... Family can't.'
'Aunt Cissy!' Druella Black giggled before launching herself into her aunt's arms.
'Im a big girl now.' She whispered with a grin as she looked into her aunt's eyes.
'You are?'
'Yes I'm four.' The small child nodded her head with a grin as she continued to cling to the woman.
Hermione smiled at the sight. Her eldest daughter was the spitting image of her mother, wild and untameable dark curls but her eyes were completely different. They were the exact shade of icy blue that belonged to both her aunt and grandmother.
'Aunt Cissy!' Two voices shouted at the same time.
Narcissa turned her head to see the two small boys running into the room and hastily throw their miniature arms around her legs. Hermione smiled fondly at the sight. The twins were always slightly excitable, especially at family gatherings. They had inherited the true Black nature; always up to something. Even at such a young age.
'Will you three ever stop growing?' The blonde laughed as she took the time to embrace each of them.
'Merlin Bella... How do you do this everyday? I've not been here two hours and I'm exhausted!' Andromeda chuckled slightly.
'I have no idea.' The dark haired witch admitted with a soft laugh. Bellatrix smiled lovingly as she looked around the room. She could never recall being this happy. Their family and friends, ever-growing, all gathered to celebrate her daughter's birthday.
'The boys certainly have too much energy.' She grinned in spite of the sigh that escaped her lips. Her dark orbs followed the twins as the ran around the room pretending to be hippogriffs.
The dark witch would never forget the day her wife suggested they try for another child. Druella was two at the time, it was their second year of marriage. Sure they'd planned for another baby but they certainly didn't expect two at the same time. It didn't help that Fred and George were well on their way to making them their protégés. Bellatrix chuckled at the thought. Those two certainly didn't need any help in the mischief making department.
'Corvus! Kraz! Don't even think about it!'
Bellatrix smirked as she heard her wife's growl. Turning round she saw the tired look in hazel orbs and smiled sadly.
'Could you do me a favour Andy and keep an eye on the twins? Dru's with Minerva and it doesn't seem like Cissy's ever going to put El down but you know what those two are like. I just want a word with H.'
'Of course Bella.' The middle Black sister smiled knowingly and turned to keep the twins occupied.
'Right! Who's for a game of dizzy dragons?' She grinned at the two boys as they immediately began spinning round.
'H?' Bellatrix questioned softly as she stood behind her wife, her arms snaking around her waist as she placed a kiss to the back of her neck.
'I'll be out now, I just need a minute.' The brunette whispered as she relaxed into her wife.
'Do you want to go for a lie down? I can handle this. You look exhausted.'
'No Bella I'm fine.' The brunette smiled fondly at the dark witch as she turned around in her arms. 'Its just been a hectic few weeks.'
'Tell me about it.' Bellatrix chuckled. 'I feel like I haven't had the chance to tell you how wonderful you are and how much I love you.' The dark witch smiled as she kissed her love's lips firmly.
'Mmmm... I love you too.' The brunette whispered.
The two witches stood together for a moment longer. Revelling in the peace and comfort for a minute longer. Bellatrix knew how stressed her wife could get. She was so determined to make their daughter's birthday perfect she hadn't spared a thought for her own well being. Bellatrix urged the girl to rest more knowing she was still drained from her long and intense labour but the brunette was a true Gryffindor; stubborn.
'Whose idea was it to have four children?' Hermione winked playfully.
'All mine.' The dark witch grinned. 'Two boys and two girls.' Her smile softened.
'Seems logical.' Hazel and onyx linked as the two reminisced silently.
'Electra huh? Sticking with the stars I see.' Tonks smiled as she gazed down at the sleeping baby in her aunt's arms.
'She's perfect 'Mione. Congrats.' The Auror smiled softly.
Bellatrix gazed happily at her wife and their newborn baby before she felt a tiny hand hold on to her own. Looking down at her eldest child she frowned noticing the sadness in her blue orbs.
'Whatever is the matter darling?' She whispered softly, lifting the girl into a tight hug.
'They're all named after stars and I'm not.' The curly haired girl whispered sadly into her mother's own curly hair.
'Oh but you are sweetheart. You're named after a very special star.' Bellatrix whispered back, kissing her daughter's nose.
'I am?' The girl whispered happily.
'Yes you are. Druella Narcissa Black you are a star in your own right. You always will be.'
'I love you mum.' Druella grinned.
'I love you too sweetheart. Now go ask your aunt Luna if she can help you find some nargles okay?' The dark witch smirked as she watched her daughter run off.
'Nargles? Really?' Narcissa asked, one eyebrow quirked.
'She enjoys Luna's stories. Who am I to deny her?' The dark witch laughed softly.
'She'd be so proud you know?' The blonde smiled sadly.
'I know.' Bellatrix kissed her sister's cheek before taking her newborn daughter in her arms. Leaving her wife and sister to talk.
'She's beautiful Hermione.'
'I know.' The brunette gushed. 'How did I get so lucky?'
'I don't know but I'll agree with you there... You had to have been bloody lucky to find yourself part of such an amazing family.' The blonde winked.
'Oh shove off Narcissa.' The brunette glared playfully.
'You love it little lion.'
'Story!' Corvus Black looked up at his mother, his dark eyes shining. Corvus was the eldest twin, arriving five minutes before his brother. He had inherited Hermione's soft brown hair but Bellatrix's deep eyes. His brother was the opposite, Kraz had thick dark curls like a true Black but soft hazel eyes identical to Hermione's.
'Please!' Kraz pleaded as he tugged on the dark witch's dress.
Bellatrix looked at the happy faces of her children and smiled lovingly, patting the space next to her. In a matter of seconds the two boys had clambered onto the sofa. Corvus curling under the dark witch's left arm while Kraz sat On her lap, leaning back into her front. Sighing happily Hermione leaned into her wife's right side, kissing her neck softly as she held a wide eyed Electra close. Druella immediately jumped onto the brunette's lap, taking her baby sister into her own arms while Hermione's arms held the pair close. Bellatrix's arms automatically wrapped around her family holding them close. The guests had left around an hour ago, leaving the family to have some quality time alone.
'I know the perfect story.' The dark witch smiled as her children all turned to look at her, their eyes sparkling with intrigue so similar to the look Hermione got when learning new things. A look that made her heart swell with love.
'It's a magical story... Full of love and happiness.'
'Ewww!'
'Love is for Flobberworms!' The twins exclaimed. Their faces scrunched in annoyance.
'They need to spend less time with Draco.' Hermione muttered causing the dark witch to laugh.
'There's also a mention of Kelpie hunting.' Bellatrix smirked.
'Kelpie hunting!?'
'Woaaahhh!' The twins grinned at their mum, their excitement returned.
'Once upon a time there was a beautiful Gryffindor. This was very unusual because Gryffindor's are usually complete idiots and the best people are sorted into Slytherin but this girl was different. She attracted the attention of the coolest Slytherin witch the world had ever seen. Did I mention this Slytherin witch was incredibly talented and good looking? The Gryffindor captured the Slytherin's heart and soul and the two ended up getting married. Together they had all kinds of adventures. Including hunting for Kelpies which turned out to be a not so great idea on the Slytherin's part. All seemed to be well until one day the Slytherin had to go and do a very dangerous job and she never came home that night. She went to heaven to be with your Grandmother and left the Gryffindor on her own. Heartbroken as she was there was nothing she could do to return to the Gryffindor. The Gryffindor was distraught, there was no way she could live without the Slytherin because she was so incredible and good looking. Like the typical Gryffindor she is the girl decided she was going to get her Slytherin back. She ventured back in time to save the Slytherin from her cruel fate but ended up going too far back. Far back enough to when Grandma Minerva was actually young! There she met the Slytherin again, only the Slytherin was younger and had no idea who she was. The Gryffindor did the bravest thing imaginable and made the Slytherin fall in love with her all over again. It sounds hard but when you're as perfect as the Gryffindor is its not such a difficult task. Anyway, the Gryffindor had to tell the Slytherin the truth; that she was from the future and that the Slytherin was in heaven. At first the Slytherin acted like a troll but a wise old wizard made her see sense. The two witches continued to live in the past where they were happier than ever before but once again fate stepped in the way. The Gryffindor was sent back to the future, leaving the Slytherin alone. The Slytherin waited for years and years until she could see her Gryffindor again. No one would ever compare to the Gryffindor so the Slytherin had no option but to be patient. Sure enough, one day the Slytherin and the Gryffindor met again. From the moment their eyes locked they knew. They knew they were together again and would be forever. They married soon after and went on to have the most beautiful family imaginable.' The dark witch glanced down to see the twins fast asleep leaning against her. Smiling softly she looked to her wife who was also fast asleep, her face buried in the dark witch's neck. Finally the dark witch looked to her daughters. Electric blue eyes gazed up at her in awe while the youngest slept soundly.
'What happened next?' Druella whispered excitedly.
'I don't know my darling. Their story is still going.'
'Who was the Gryffindor mum?'
Bellatrix glanced to her sleeping wife, her eyes filling with tears of love.
Grinning up at her mum the dark haired child snuggled close before whispering;
'I have the bravest mummies in the world.'
