Mordecai expression softened when he caught sight of more tears rolling down Bensons cheeks and he let him go, placing him on the mattress, looking the other way so Mordecai wouldn't see his face.

"Benson, listen, you don't have to continue if you don't want to."

"But remember what happened last time when you didn't do the solid Rigby gave you?"

Mordecai paused, trying to ignore the heartache in Bensons voice. He finally sighed.

"I remember."

Benson turned his head to look at him and Mordecai took notice of his eyes that were wet with tears.

"Now you know why I want to do the solid."

Mordecai nodded. He wanted so much to try to convince Benson but he knew how stubborn his boss could be so he left it.

"Alright."

A few hours passed and the workers began to get used to seeing Benson in a cat suit everyday. Well, except for Rigby who still laughed about it.
Despite Benson having gotten accompanied to it as well, Mordecai still saw the embarrassment in his eyes and his stomach twisted in knots.

He knocked on Bensons office door that afternoon to talk to him.

"Benson?"

"Yeah?"

"I-I want to forget the solid."

Benson looked up. "What?"

"I know the day hasn't been up yet but I think you should take it off."

"But what about what happened with you-"

"Forget what happened with me! I don't want to see you go through this anymore."

Benson hesitated at Mordecai's words. He stopped to think it over and after seeing the hurt on Mordecais face, he sighed.

"Alright, I'll forget about the solid."

Mordecai smiled as Benson took the cat suit off and as soon as he did, the blue jay let out a cough and backed away.

"Ugh dude, did you take the cat suit off at all?"

"No, because you said it was a solid."

Mordecai made a face. The suit smelt like rotten eggs.

"Should I….."

"Yes."

Benson dropped the suit and walked out of his office, happy to finally be out of the suit. As he walked past Mordecai, the blue jays eyes watered.
