Hi! It has been a long time.. Sorry about that^^

In this chapter I'm going to tell you a little bit of what has been happening with Damon and Stephan (this is for you KlausXElena ;D)

Hope you enjoy it! :D

The date went FANTASTIC.

We saw some books, laughed a lot, went to grab a cup of coffee and had a walk on the park.

Jared was an interesting person, but plain as well. He played for the football team in his high school, a private high school, by the way. He liked mystery novels and comic books. He also loved American Horror Story, and thought the second season was incredible. He had an older sister and his parents were divorced. He had good grades, but not the best. And he liked me.

I didn't share much. Every time the word 'family' came up I changed the subject and he seemed to understand because he didn't push it. Thankfully the exes weren't mentioned and I simply dodged the uncomfortable questions.

We played the 'would you rather' game and I didn't believe just how funny it was.

"Would you rather… be eaten by a snake or… eat a panda?"

"Would you rather... be Bella in the Twilight universe or be Ron's rat in Harry Potter's?"

Jared asked me a lot about my taste in music and books, we didn't have the same likings, but we somehow to matched. What I did not read in my fantasy novels he read in his mystery ones. The lack of violin and piano in his music was equilibrated by my collection of CD's (that I unfortunately burned during my melt down). His super heroes were far better than my knights in shiny armor. But the romance in my books seriously outweighed the kissing scenes in his comics.

"So Elena, what do you do for a living?" he asked jokingly.

"I work at a Mexican restaurant called Señor Taco," I said frankly earning a semi-surprised expression from him.

"Did you drop out from school?" he didn't sound judging, but quite curious.

"Yeah, kinda… I mean, yes. Maybe I'll go back, but for now I think it's best if occupy myself with something," I shrugged trying to pretend it wasn't a big deal.

"I'm jealous." He smiled. "I wish I could also leave school and earn my own money."

"No, you don't," I grinned. "You're just saying that to have something in common with me."

Jared laughed. "You're right! I actually want to be a teacher."

I raised an eyebrow.

"I know, I know, it's not exactly every teen's dream, but I figure it can work nicely with my other job as a comic artist."

"That sounds great!"

"Yeah!" he lit up. "I have so many plans! The first thing I'm gonna do is…"

Jared described his future to me and I paid attention.

His visions swooped me in like they were my own, and I felt the same excitement he felt when he told me everything about his dream work.

Then it was my turn to tell him about writing, how I wanted it to be what sustained me in the future, and he smiled with me and his eyes shined like mine when I talked about the stories I was going to write about.

Jared dropped me off in front of my apartment and gave me a small sweet kiss on the cheek.

"Damon. Damon. DAMON!" my brother screamed at me with urgency.

"WHAT!?" I turned, not caring one single bit that he was as shaken and preoccupied as me.

"Damon, I understand how you're feeling, but pacing back and forth all day isn't going to arrange this situation," he said calmly, ignoring the aggressive tone I had used on him.

"Then, what do you suggest?" I got closer to him in an intimidating manner. "Elena is gone and we don't know why. Maybe she was kidnapped or maybe she went for milk and forgot the way back… or… she's dead and Rebekah's finally got her revenge!" I flung my arms into the air.

"Calm down." He sighed. "Listen, we know that she wasn't kidnapped, the night she disappeared she was here, at the house, and there was no sign of a struggle." Stefan analyzed the situation. "Also, Elena isn't dead, otherwise we would've heard of her killer, specially if it was Rebekah. And-and, both of us would've felt it." He concluded in a cheesy tone.

"So…" I said annoyed. "You're saying that she has ABANDONED US?"

That idea made me furious, there was no way Elena would have left me, not after all the struggles we went past to be together. She was finally mine.

"Well, it is clear that Elena has been weird lately, she may just need a couple days to change of scenario, I'm sure she'll be back," Stefan tried to reassure me. Ugh, I hated when he did that.

"Yeah," I agreed numbly, not agreeing at all. "Just in case, I'll go ask Bonnie to do a locating spell, at least to know she's safe."

"I don't think that's a good idea." Stefan frowned.

"It doesn't matter what you think, little brother, she's not your girlfriend anymore, you have no reason to get involved." I said, not really paying attention to my own words, he put on a pained face.

"Fine, you're right," he picked up his jacket from the couch and headed towards the door. "Call me if you hear any news about Elena. I'll be… I don't know… somewhere far away from here." Stefan waved good-bye while closing the entrance shut, not even looking at me as he did so, but I understood his animosity, once again I let my feelings turn me into a jerk. Next time I was sure going to pay for my actions, the bonding session would have to involve a liquor much more expensive than a ten year old brandy.

I waited a few minutes before going out to look for a certain annoying witch that would help me.
