Sorry that this took so long. I've been busy IRL and I think the story sucks but I'll continue it anyway. Nonetheless, I appreciate everyone's great feedback. You guys are awesome! If you have any suggestions, let me know!

I walked up to Clementine and Duck, who was busy playing with my DS.

"How's the game?" I asked him.

He pursed his lips. "It's kinda babyish," he replied.

I playfully scoffed. "Aw, I like Pokemon!"

He glanced at me, a little embarrassed by what he'd said."I mean, it's okay, I guess."

Clementine looked up at me. "My parents never let me get video games."

"Oh?" I replied. "Why's that?"

She was about to reply when Kenny cut her off, telling the group that we should probably get going to the barn since Lee and the rest weren't back yet and that he was a little worried.

Duck ran up to the group and Clementine jumped up, but she waited for me.

"My parents never let me play video games because they're too violent," she said.

"Oh. How ironic."

"What does ironic mean?"

Kenny then came up to us and told Clementine to hurry along. I was about to follow suit when he grabbed my wrist and pulled me back. Ouch.

He narrowed his eyes at me. "What's your problem?"

"Huh?"

"You think you can just barge in here with all this food, saying your parents were in a wreck?" He pointed an accusing finger at me. "You look life you've never been in a wreck in your life."

I was getting nervous. I tried playing dumb. "Okay, what? My parents are gone, you asshole. I have nowhere else to go." That technically wasn't a lie.

"Shut up," he scowled. "If you do anything at all to this group, or anything to those kids, I swear to God I won't hesitate to blow your fucking head off."

I was actually shocked and didn't know what else to say when Lilly called for us. He gave me a final stare as I walked ahead of him and he walked behind me. I rushed up to the rest of the gang. I thought Kenny would be nice and trusting but I had already gotten off to a bad start with him.

While we were walking, Duck handed me back my DS. "It won't turn on anymore."

"Oh, that's okay, the battery's probably dead," I put it into my backpack. Clementine was now walking beside me, so I turned to her. "I like your hat! Where did you get it from?"

"My dad gave it to me," she said. "He's in Savannah now."

Whoops. "Oh, okay."

"My dad and I used to play in my treehouse all the time. We would make up adventure stories."

"Oh, that's cool! I like adventures!"

"Me too," she replied. "And sometimes my mom would even play with us." She then looked down. "I miss doing that."

"Hey, you'll be able to do it again someday," I said.

"Really?"

Kenny turned his head to us. "Hey Gemma, why don't you settle down. You'll attract zombies."

I didn't want to start in, so I obliged. "Oh, okay then."

We arrived at the farm to see Mark with an arrow in his chest. The rest of the group rushed up to him, and Brenda St. John urged Mark inside her house.

I knew where this was going. I wanted to save him but I didn't want to mess up the game.

"Hey, do you need any help?" I asked Brenda.

"Oh no, sweetie, I'm all he needs," she said, smiling at me. "What's your name?"

"Gemma."

"I'm Brenda. Nice to meet you!"

She continued to stare at me and I fidgeted. "Same."

I was scared. I didn't know if I should run away or not. But then I might never get home.

Lee was fixing the broken tree swing and I walked up to him. "Who shot at him?"

Lee continued on his work. "Not sure. Some thieves, maybe."

"Yeah. I wish I could help him."

"Brenda said he'd be fine, I guess." He then looked at me and extended his hand."I'm Lee, by the way,"

"I'm Gemma," I smiled and shook it.

"Where're you from?" He asked.

"Atlanta," I replied.

"Oh, were you a student?"

Oh shit. "Yeah. UGA."

"Oh, I used to teach some history there."

I nodded. "Yeah, I haven't taken history yet."

"Well, I guess you don't have to worry about that now."

"Haha, yeah, I guess not."

He started hammering."Were you with a group?"

"Well, if you consider my family a group, then yes," I said.

"Oh, your family..."

"Yeah. There was a car accident, and, well," I sighed deeply. "It happens."

"I'm sorry."

I leaned against the tree. Danny St. John was polishing his gun next to us. "It's okay. Life goes on, right?"

In an attempt to act dramatic I turned away. Lee noticed this and put his hand on my shoulder.

"If you ever need anything," he said, "don't hesitate to come and talk to me, okay?"

I looked up at his face and smiled. "Thank you. I really appreciate that." I then took a step and his hand slipped from my shoulder. "For now, I think I just need to be left alone."

I walked away satisfied with my response and went behind the barn. Again, it technically wasn't a lie. I never said my family died, but everyone else just implied it. But I was still pretty tired. I leaned against the barn and closed my eyes.

Suddenly, a zombie came by and was electrocuted by the fence unexpectedly. The sound made me scream and I ran as fast as I could back to the house. I hadn't noticed that Andy had rushed behind me and caught up to me.

"What's wrong?" Lee cried.

"There's a zombie!" I shouted.

"Not so loud," Lee said sternly. "You''ll attract more zombies. Where is it?"

"Over there!" I pointed behind the barn.

Andy squinted. "It looks like it was outside the fence. You know we have an electric fence, right?"

"Oh!Yeah, I forgot, sorry."

Lee, Andy and I walked behind the barn. The zombie was electrocuted but still barely moving its head. Andy shot it in the head and the gun's noise made me jump.

"Oh my God!" I cried.

"It's just a gun," Lee said.

"Yeah, well, I'm not used to guns."

Lee looked at me questioningly. "What did you guys use to defend yourselves then?"

I tried not to hesitate. "Well, my dad used like, small guns," I said. "Nobody ever used big guns. I can't even use a gun to save my life."

Lee was shocked. "You survived all this time without using a gun?"
