I am so late, I just realized Thanksgiving already passed. So... Man, I am stuffed. How was Turkey Day everyone? Of course, unless you don't celebrate Thanksgiving... I miss doing replies, so I wanna do my replies.
Guest: Oh really? Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy this fanfic since there's other Rags/Crossover fanfics just like this one.
BooBear4997: For some reason, I really wish I started this fanfic with Charlie as an evil twin or something. Blackmail? Ooh... Well, I hope everything gets better for you. I'm going through some blackmailing too, so you're not alone.
Baby Porcupine-Cute but DEADLY: I love your name! And sorry darling, but I love references. Or parodies to be specific. Sort of like what they do on movies. Apple... Pear. PF Changs... BF Wangs. Thanks for noticing that! And I used a True Jackson Reference? Hmm... That show is sort of blurry in my head, so...
BRASE: I see we have another Chevie/Starlie shipper, do we?
moogie: My sis? She's doing good. She's tutoring him now in the library. SO ADORABLE! Man, she has a better love life than me, but oh well. Just gives me more fangirl power, eh?
unknown4499: Dont cry. Zevie will happen. Or not. But either way, I'm sure you'll be happy. Or not. Man, I'm weird. And yeah. Skylar's going to be featured in this story. I just keep piling characters onto this story. Do you think it's too much?
I think this are enough reviews, so if you have a question. Please leave a review down in that box over there,
Now we shall go one with the story...
Zander's POV
Okay, I'm fed up with this. Stevie and Charlie are acting like a couple, and I just want to confirm it.
I know it's wrong, but I have no other choice. I'm basically desperate.
Charlie's at Bernie's Pawn Shop, so there's a small chance that he'll catch me doing this.
I go through his suitcase, and steal an outfit. I especially need the fedora.
I change into his white t-shirt and leather jacket, put the fedora firmly on my head, and go outside my room hoping no one knew what I did.
What to do now... What to do now... Hmm... Oh yeah.
I walk to Stevie's door and knock lightly until she answers with squinting eyes and really big hair. Strands of frizz and knots piles onto her head almost as tall as Abraham Lincoln's hat.
Huh. Reminds me of Vic.
"Charlie?" she asks giving off a big yawn. Adjust the fedora on my head hoping she can't tell the difference between me and Charlie.
"Hi Stevie. I guess I'm early." I say as she inspects my face, her eyebrows furrowing with confusion.
"Hi Charlie. What's up?" she asks a smile appearing on her face.
"I was wondering if you would like to go over to a coffee shop with me." I say meekly pulling the fedora over my forehead.
"It's kind of cold outside today." she says.
"Come on Steves." I plead.
"I thought Zander only calls me that."
She noticed! She must be thinking of me!
"I know, but I thought I could call you that too." I say awkwardly rubbing the back of my neck.
"Hmm... Okay. Just give me a moment to freshen up," she said and closed the door. Five minutes later, she appears again wearing dark skinny jeans, a band T-shirt, combat boots, and a fedora.
"Cool hat." I say trying to make conversation.
"Well, duh. It was yours. You gave it to me, remember?" she chuckles.
CHARLIE GAVE HER A FEDORA!? Since when? I thought he treasured his fedoras!?
"Oh yeah." I say, and chuckle. Maybe it was a bit forced.
"Come on." she says and takes my hand leading me out of the hotel.
"Where are we going?" I ask her.
"To the pawn shop silly. Come on! We'll play Sylvia again!" she smiles.
It breaks my heart to see how happy she is with Charlie. She's never been this happy with me. Have I been neglecting her? What does Charlie have that I don't?
Wait a minute. The pawn shop? Bernie's pawn shop!? Charlie's there today! She'll figure out I'm really Zander and everything will be ruined!
I know I sound selfish, but I can't help it. I like Stevie. Maybe even love her.
"We can't go to the pawn shop," I say abruptly, and she gives me a frown, along with puppy dog eyes. "Without a trip to the ice cream shop! Ice cream's on me." I impulsively say, and we both laugh. I'm no actor, but I think she believed me.
"Well, what are we waiting for? I think there's an ice cream shop near Bernie's." she says and we walk over to the parlor.
I take out my phone, and text Charlie, hoping he would be out of Bernie's by the time Stevie and I get there after our quick treat.
Hey Charlie! Go back to the hotel ASAP!
And... Send.
"Hey, why do you have Zander's phone?" Stevie asks me skeptically.
Think Zander. Think!
"Uh... Umm... I guess I grabbed the wrong phone. I was in a hurry to meet you." I say sheepishly.
"Oh really? That's sweet Charlie." she smiles.
Oh great. She likes Charlie even more now. Oh glob.
We arrive at the colorful looking ice cream shop, and we approach the employee behind the counter.
"Oh hey Ben. What are you doing working here?" I ask him.
"Oh hey... Charlie, right? You're Zander's twin, right?"
He doesn't know I'm Zander?
"How do you know I'm Charlie?" I ask him skeptically.
"Well, Zander would hate to hide his hair. He kind of prizes that chiz on his head," he says and Stevie chuckles at this. I'm ashamed to say this, but I guess he's right. I would never wear a hat, but I was desperate. "So, what can I get you two?" he asks.
"Mint chip in a small cup."
"Cookie dough in a small cup too."
"Coming up." Ben says as he takes his scoop and scoops the smooth ice cream into the neon green cups.
"What are you doing working here? You never liked working for the man." I say.
"How did you know that..." he asks skeptically, his eyebrows furrowing.
I have to be more careful, don't I?
"Zander told me a lot about One-Sided Love. He talks about it all the time." I say very carefully.
"Oh. Well, my family's having money problems. Moving to Montana and all...anyways, I kind of need to help out the family by scraping up a few bucks." he explains.
Poor Ben... He has to move to Montana. But what about Griffin?
"Does Griffin know yet?" I ask him.
I can't even imagine those two pulled apart. Their relationship is nearly identical to Nelson and Kevin's. They've been a lot with each other. What's Griffin going to do when Ben is gone? Fnd a new best friend?
But Griffin is too loyal. I guess... He'll have no one to bail out of lockers, or save from Darren Vader.
"Well, yeah. He thinks he could help by talking to Swindle. Long story..." he says and then gives us the cups of ice cream.
"Five bucks." he says. I pull out my wallet, and pay the man.
"Thanks Charlie." he says with a smile.
"No worries Benster-"
"How do you know... I thought Zander- oh, forget it." he mumbles as he talks to his next customer.
I suck at acting.
Stevie and I exit the ice cream parlor, and we make our way to Bernie's pawn shop. I've never been there, but by Charlie's sayings, it must be a whimsical wonderland full of untold treasures.
As soon as I open the door, the man at the counter looks at me skeptically.
"Hi Bernie!" Stevie waves to him as she makes her way to the grand piano in the corner.
Of course his name's Bernie.
"Hey Bernie!" I wave trying to look nonchalant. He just looks at my face with a confused look in his eyes, but gives up and goes to putting antique tea cups on a shelf.
Stevie sits on the left side of the piano stool, and pats the right side indicating she wants Charlie to sit down next to her. I do, and just sit there awkwardly.
She plays a song. A really weird sounding song. Not weird, but unusual. It sounds nice, and it's pleasing to my hungry ears.
I look at her, and see that she's looking at me. Why is that?
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I ask her.
"Charlie, don't you remember? The song you never got to finish? I finished it for you! I even wrote some lyrics. I hope that's okay." she smiles.
My heart aches. My head aches. Everything aches. She likes Charlie. Man, where have I went wrong? I never make her smile like that these days. But if Charlie will make her happy, then I accept it. I just need an answer...
"Thanks Stevie," I smile. She smiles back, and holds my hand.
This concept of affection... It's meant for Charlie. Not me. I feel terrible. What if Charlie likes her back? Or even worse? What if he still has feelings for Kadee and he rejects her when she confesses her feelings for him? If they do end up together, I guess I should... Accept it. Even if it hurts me, I want her to be happy.
But I need an answer.
"Umm... Stevie?" I ask her.
"Yeah Charlie?" she asks me goofing around with the piano keys.
"What do you think about me?" I ask her. She abruptly stops with a sour note that dissolves into the air.
"What do you mean?" she asks, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"You know. As a friend." I say.
"Well-"
"WASSUP BABY!?" I hear someone yell as the door opens. I turn around to identify the person, and it's...
CRAP.
A/N: I know my chapters are pretty much random and they take place at different places. I know that, and it's intentional. I don't exactly want my fanfic to be predictable. So... I think you know who came into the room, huh?
And Cade Canonball unfollowed me from Instagram. Oh well. Those two minutes were pure gold. Anyways, anyone want to tell me how was their Turkey Day? R&R please.
