Author's Note: Hey guys, I'm super sorry about the delay. I've had a couple chapter of this outlined for a while, just not written out. I'll try and crank out a couple more in the next few weeks.
The Marauders, minus Peter, and Leo sat in a circle. They had emptied their bags of their books. James Potter ruffled his hair uncomfortable.
"Someone's gotta go first guys." He said quietly. Everyone continued to exchange looks. Leo rolled her eyes
"Fine. Since none of you are man enough to go first, I'll go first." She stood up and removed her shirt. "I swear if any of you says anything I'll kill you in a minute flat." Her stomach was riddled with scars and burns. She unbuttoned her jeans and stood there in her underwear with her eyes closed. A moment went by before her form shimmered and in her place sat a small cat. An ocelot to be exact. It smirked before it rolled over onto its back and stared at the boys sitting across from her.
"I was going to hit you for saying that, but you're just too cute as a cat." James pouted. Sirius meanwhile had already removed his clothing. The ocelot rolled its eyes and made a low rumbling sound that came out as a groan. The big black dog walked over to the ocelot and licked it up and down its stomach.
"EW! Sirius that is disgusting!" Leo shrieked as she shifted back into her normal form. Her torso was glimmering with drool. Picking up a towel that had appeared next to her, she dried herself off. The dog just smirked and panted.
Taking the moment to stretch, she looked around for her shirt. "Give it back Padfoot." She growled. Sirius had maneuvered himself onto her shirt and was rolling around with it.
"Don't think I will."
"Mangy dog."
"Stuck up cat."
"You drool."
"Cats lick themselves!"
"Dogs do too moron." Leo retorted. James and Remus had finally collapsed in a pile of laughter at the argument.
"Sirius you suck at arguing with her, just face it."
"Never!"
Taking his momentary pause, Leo dove for her shirt and pulled it back on. She looked at the boys and stretched out on the ground. "So how was everyone's summer?" She queried.
"Nothing too exciting. Went to visit my grandmother in Belfast for three weeks. I had forgotten how awful her perfume was. Dead flowers." Remus said with a shudder.
"I was locked away in my room, except to attend the lovely-as-always Court events. Parents felt that I should still be present for those. They've decided that I could possibly catch some potential bird, despite my 'separation'." Sirius said as he collapsed on his stomach.
"Well my summer was lovely, save for the same Court events that I kept Sirius company at. I've come up with some great Quidditch moves." James said before jumping on top of Sirius.
Remus looked over at Leo, who was rubbing her stomach. "What happened to you? Some of those look fresh." Leo looked up and smiled.
"Eros was some of them. I scared him. I don't remember the rest of them though. My blackouts got worse over the summer." She looked over at James. "That's why I wasn't in Court this summer. My parents don't want the real information getting out about me."
"I thought they still wanted to pair you up with Malfoy." Leo groaned and fell onto her back.
"Please don't remind me."
"You know he walks around those events telling people that it's basically been decided that you'll be married once you graduate." All three boys looked at Leo, who was staring blankly at the ceiling. "Did you hear me Leo?" She nodded.
Sighing, she sat up slowly and grimaced. "Lucius can say what he wants. Doesn't mean he's right. I will fight tooth and nail before I marry that git. Despite what my parents say." The boys exchanged looks.
"Leo I know you're less than pleased about this possible arrangement, but you love your parents. I mean you don't hate them like I hate mine. Would you really give up everything because of one thing? I mean you could just poison Lucius on your wedding day. That would clear things up." Leo snickered.
"Now there's an idea I hadn't thought of. .." She smiled. "Now as for pranks. What's our starter for the year?"
"Wakey wakey Calliope." Leo slowly opened one eye. After learning who her roommates for the school year were, she had decided that she would rather sleep in the guy's dorm than her own. Now she rather regretted that decision.
"How'd she get up there?"
"I dunno. You ask her mate."
"Leo how'd you get up there?
"Up where?"
"On top of the fireplace…"
"On top of what-" With a loud thud, Leo landed on the common room floor. Something cracked loudly in her side. "Son of a bitch!" She swore loudly as she tried to gingerly pop her ribs back into place. She looked up.
"You're lucky we found you. You were sleeping in your Animagus form. We happened to wake you up before anyone saw you. Are your ribs okay?" She winced as she tried to stand up slowly.
"Eh, they'll be fine. I just cracked a couple of them. Nothing Pomfrey can't fix quickly." She grimaced in pain as she slowly made her way to the door.
"You need help?"
"No! Sirius. I'm not a little kid. I don't need everybody's help all the time." The three boys followed her out of the dorm with her bag. They watched her limp her way through the corridors.
"Leo!" Someone yelled from behind the Marauders. Hunter came flying through the corridors. "Are you okay? I woke up in searing pain and-Leo!" He caught her as the Marauders came running forward. "What did you do to her?!"
Remus stepped forward as Hunter started sprinting for the Hospital Wing. "She said she didn't want our help! She snapped at us. We followed her and were about to grab her when you showed up."
"You guys don't even care about her. You have no idea the kind of pain she's in right now! It is making me hurt, so imagine how badly it hurts her." He turned the corner and went into the Hospital Wing. "Pomfrey! I need your help!"
Madame Pomfrey came running from her office with her arms full of bottles and viles. "What happened this time?" Hunter crossed his arms.
"It's her ribs I think, something's gotta be bleeding in there. It hurt like a bitch." He narrowed his eyes at the Marauders. "So what happened?"
Remus cleared his throat. "She fell off the fireplace." Pomfrey and Hunter both looked at the boy who just shrugged. "Don't ask me. We found her there, asleep. About ten minutes ago."
"How could she be –" Hunter began before Madame Pomfrey ushered them out of the Hospital Wing so she could get to work. Despite protests from Hunter, she slammed the doors behind them. The raven-haired boy turned slowly and glared at the group of boys. "I can't bloody believe you lot! Was it a dare? Did you make her do something?"
"Make who do what?" Called Rory as he rounded the corner to join the group outside the Hospital Wing. The Head Boy quickly stepped in front of his brother who looked just about ready to strangle James Potter. "Hunter, just shut up and listen to what they have to say."
Hunter slouched against the wall with his arms folded, grumbling about his own brother not siding with him. Rory brushed his hair back, waiting for one member of the trio to explain themselves. The Marauders quickly exchanged glances before Remus cleared his throat.
"Like we told Hunter before, we came down from our dorm to find her asleep on top of the mantelpiece. How she fit herself up there we couldn't tell you. We woke her up which caused her to fall onto the floor. James tried to catch her, but wasn't fast enough." James humph'd at the end, which made the other four boys turn look at him.
Rory nodded slowly, processing the story. "I believe you." He quickly clamped his hand over his younger brother's mouth to suppress his anger over the situation. "Did Pomfrey mention –" He was cut off by the Hospital doors creaking back open.
