Cute little author notes: Here's what you've missed: Suffice to say lots. Go read Dalton by CP Coulter and then come back here. These continuing chapters will be my little fill ins of the great book Dalton. I'm starting these from a line in the story and then digressing into my bit, sometimes with a twist.
I don't understand some terms. Others would say that these are drabbles or one shots – I just say these are my little snippets of what may be in the story but aren't actually mentioned there. A drabble apparently is 100words, and originated from Monty Python's 1971 Big Red Book. So that's funny. And a one shot is basically a short story that concludes in one chapter. They are not drabbles although because they are usually longer and drabbles usually are about one frame in time, not the whole story. So this further collection are probaby one shots.
Rating: M.
Ownership: I don't own Glee, or Dalton by CP Coulter. Dalton is amazing. I do own my imagination.
Musical Inspiration: Outlaws of Love by Adam Lambert from the album Trespassing. That's how my mind is, I get inspired by songs while I read other things. You don't have to listen to the music, I'm just mentioning it. And if you want a copy, go buy it.
~ Episode 19: Paint ~
Blaine looked at Charlie, "They're all yours!" he squeezed Kurt's hand a moment, Kurt turned back to him and looked up into his pleading eyes. "Come?" Without hesitation Kurt blinks and follows him up the stairs, to his room.
As he stood waiting for Blaine to open the door, he's suddenly aware that Blaine's legs are wobbling and he seems to have difficulty breathing. Kurt holds him from behind, supporting a gentle fall to the floor. He leans Blaine against the door frame and opens said door. Checking his dearest boyfriend is still lucid and hasn't fallen to the land of "I can't handle this, let me sleep it out", Kurt guides him up and over to his couch. "Come on, up you get."
Blaine complies, moving like instructed by a puppet master. He sits on his couch and lets Kurt remove his shoes. He looks down at his dearest 'new' boyfriend, who is now kneeling in front of him, chin on his knees and reaching up to cup either side of Blaine's cheeks. Kurt involuntarily shudders, lifting his head up off Blaine's knees and pushes his legs to one side, so as to hug him.
A moment of a hug and then he pulls back and leans their foreheads together. Brown eyes to blue, a gentle smile from Kurt and a worried numb from Blaine. Concern for Shane niggling at all edges of his mind, but this scenario of Kurt being his boyfriend, being in his room, being right in front of him, 'Being', just being here. This is out of the world of reality, right? This is a dream coming true.
This is the comfort needed when life altering moments distress. This is what he knew, Logan wouldn't have been capable of. But Logan had been downstairs, he'd followed Kurt, from somewhere. And now concerning thoughts of "What the hell was Logan doing following Kurt?" start to ebb!
His phone rings loudly, piercing the thick air of anticipation, making them both jump and Blaine draws a sudden breath, aware that his lungs were screaming for breath. And his heart, resumes a correct beat from the thrumming of 'love birds'.
"Mum! Right…. Well we heard on the broadcasts…. Okay, but when will you know for sure?" A one sided conversation to Kurt's ears. He sits alongside and rubs between Blaine's shoulder blades. "Well, can you keep me updated? …. They're all worried over here, he's part of this little Windsor family too….. Great, Mum, thank you…. Okay, I love you too. Bye for now." He stares down at the phone, after his Mum hangs up, her image slowly disappearing.
Kurt takes the phone from him and puts it on the side table. Blaine leans his head on Kurt's shoulder "Thank you for being here." Putting his arm around Blaine some more "No problem at all."
They sit, one leaning against the other, the other cuddling as much as a protective hold will allow. The ticking of the clock getting louder as Blaine's breathing melds to Kurt's soothing presence. Tears for his brother starting to fall on Kurt's jumper.
Knock knock at the door. "Coming." Kurt calls out as he rises to the door.
The door opens and the Tweedles enter with a plate of food. "Thought you might like some of these." They say together.
And so begins the arrival of food….
Extra author notes: Told a little lie, 'cause I supposed that may be Blaine's Mum had rung him back after one call of distress. I love the idea of thrumming of love birds. Cats and kittens purr when they're stressed, and our little hearts beat fast when stressed. And Blaine's heart is irregular, and Kurt's too, at the beginning of their new identity. Oh…. Sweet Klaine. Mwah
