Alex's POV
"Mitch" I said shaking her. I had come up after Max went to bed. He'd had a long day, I think we all have. When I came back into the room, I found Mitchie fast asleep. Normally I'd just let her be, but she seemed to be having some sort of nightmare. "Mitchie, wake up" I said more urgently when she wouldn't respond. Suddenly she shot straight up and her eyes snapped wide open.
"She is NOT a wizard!" She exclaimed breathing heavily and I gave her a questioning look. She looked around probably just realizing that whatever she had seen was just a dream. She looked back to me sheepishly and I saw a blush form on her cheeks.
"erm, hi" She said smiling bashfully.
"Hey, there" I said smirking. "Pretty intense dream?" I asked and she just nodded before yawning. "Well we'll just have to do something about that." I told her lying next to her and wrapping my arms around her. She smiled and laid back into my arms.
"Goodnight" She told me pecking me on the lips.
"Sweet dreams Mitch." I told her as her eyes closed again. I laid awake for a while thinking about everything that has happened recently. We might not lead the most normal lives, but... at least I know I have her. I thought as I looked to the sleeping beauty lying in my arms and smiling. I hope that never changes.
"Alex" I heard Mitchie's voice say as someone was lightly shaking me. I reluctantly opened my eyes and squinted in the bright light that was pouring through the windows.
"Alex, there's someone here to see you" She told me. I looked at her confused. Who would be here to see me? The only people I could think of were Mitchie and Max, and they're both already here. I sat up rubbing the sleep from my eyes. "And she's like the spitting image of you"
"Who is it?" I asked and she shook her head.
"I don't know. She looks like she's 7 or 8 years old" This got me even more confused.
"I don't know anyone younger than max" I told her and she just shrugged.
"Don't look at me, She's in the den." She told me as I got up.
"Okay" I walked to the door then turned back. "Wait" She gave me a questioning look and I kissed her. It was short but sweet. "Good morning" I told her cheerfully before walking out of the room and it was a minute before I heard her follow.
We got down and I spotted the girl instantly. Mitchie was right. She looked exactly like a younger version of myself. I looked back to Mitch who gave me a 'told you so' look. I continued down the stairs and finally the girl looked up and saw me. She looked happy to see me before she covered her emotions. She stood up and extended her arm towards me.
"Hi, I'm piper" She said and I could tell she was trying to sound professional. Cautiously, I reached out and shook her hand.
"Hi" I said unsurly. "Alex"
"Oh, I know. I'm your cousin" She told me and I turned to Mitchie in shock.
"Cousin? Ernesto had kids?" I asked and she shook her head.
"No, uh, his wife's sister is my mom's... sister.. in law" She finished as if thinking. "Well, never mind about that, but basically I'm a distant cousin" She confirmed.
"Okay.. so not to be rude or whatever, but why are you here?" I asked and she looked down.
"My uh parents had to go on a business trip and I couldn't come so she called Justin and he told them you'd watch after me."
"How old are you?" I asked ignoring the fact that justin had anything to do with this.
"Seven" She said proudly.
"Well, you're pretty smart for a seven year old" I told her.
"Thanks. I get it from my mom" She told me with that triumphant look still on her face.
"I see... And it was Justin that said you could stay here?" I asked and she nodded.
"Yep" I turned to Mitchie wondering how her parents took the news, or if they even know. I mean I don't think they'd be too happy with half my family living here too.
"I know what you're thinking, and yes, my parents are okay with this. Apparently they had known about this for a little over a week and just forgot to mention it." Mitchie told me.
"Oh" I said not sure what else to say. "Well, welcome to the Torres' manor" I told her and she looked a bit confused.
"Torres' Manor?" She asked.
"Yep, I live with Mitchie" I gestured to her and the little girl shook her head still confused.
"Why don't you live at home?" She asked. I bit my lip unconsciously before responding.
"My brother kicked me out a long time ago." I told her.
"Oh ok" She said but it didn't seem like all her questions were answered.
"Well Piper" Mitchie spoke up. "Why don't we show you to a room?" She asked and Piper nodded taking her hand while my girlfriend led her upstairs leaving me there to think for a moment.
So she's related to me, so that could explain why we look alike I guess... But something's off, and I'm going to find out what.
Okay, so devastatingly short, but it's important. Review please? It might help inspire me to write a longer chapter tomorrow :)
