Later that morning, when Crowley and Kevin were up, Sam briefly explained the situation to them.
They walked into the room to find Dean clutching onto Cas' hand, fast asleep.
Sam cleared his throat as he entered, waking Dean up and causing him to stand up and let go of Cas' hand immediately.
Crowley then started, "So what is up with the angel?"
Sam furrowed his brows "We don't know he seems to have trouble healing"
Kevin then joined in "Was Cas the one who started all of this? I read that for all the angels to fall, someone must do some trials"
The last question triggered something in dean, the fear that Cas had done somethig horribly wrong, a rerun of what happened a few years ago. "Out!" Dean said in a hushed whisper "let's leave Cas here and talk outside" .
They went to the living room where they continued to discuss.
"What are these trials Kevin" Sam asked, he too, afraid to know the truth.
"Well one of them is to get a cupid arrow or something, that is all I can decode for now" Kevin replied.
That was when Dean scrunched up. "Dammit Cas that son of a bitch, he brought me to help him get it".
"The arrow?" Crowley questioned.
"Yeah and some bow from a cupid we saw" Dean mumbled, with the last few word trailing off. Dean was now looking at his feet, hoping that whatever this was implying was not true and Cas wasn't the one who caused this.
Sam cleared his throat and said "We should at least give Cas the benefit of doubt before anything is confirmed".
They nodded their heads and decided to not continue the discussion until they got all the facts from Cas.
It was about 1pm in the afternoon. Cas lied in bed, regaining conscious. He felt a warmth at his stomach. It was a nice newly refilled hot water bag. His throat was dry and his head was spinning. Well, that is what wondering in the foods and not eating for a few days would do to you, he thought. He blinked hard and the realization that he was in the batcave hit him. He looked at the the table at the bedside. There was a tall glass of water placed there. Cas immediately got out of bed and gulped down everything.
He wondered how he got here as he recalled the last thing he did was get out of the woods when he felt darkness engulf him.
He looked around and the room was empty, and he was alone.
He knew he needed to find Dean, so despite still being exhausted and in pain he trudged out of the room.
He heard noise coming from the other room, he followed the sound til he neared the living room.
"We don't know when Cas is going to wake up, do you think he did it?" Kevin asked.
"Who knows? That son of a bitch always does things being our backs", Dean grumpily admitted.
"Dean we shouldn't jump to conclusions" Sam solemnly says. "Sam's right, we should hear what the angel has to say" Crowley added.
Cas took this chance to walk in.
"Cas, you're awake" Sam said with a smile.
"Well I hate to do this but-" Dean angrily spat out as he lit a match and threw it near the ground Cas was standing on.
The ring of holy fire, caught on fire rapidly.
Cas knew it wouldn't work, he was no longer an angel, so no holy fire would work on him. But the fact that Dean didn't trust him broke his heart, so he decided to stay there for now.
"So you ready to talk, huh?" "Where have you been? Why did the other angels fall? Why did you bring me to get cupid's bow and arrow? Were you the cause of this?" Dean asked all the questions he had all at once.
Cas was standing there. Wordless. He thought of what he was going to say, there was so much to explain to Dean and he didn't know where to start.
Dean now was angry, after knowing Cas is okay, he knew it was time to get down to business to find out of Cas had gone 'dark side' again.
"So? You going to talk?" Dean shouted. Raising one of Crowley's angel blade guns at Cas . "Dean, calm down let Cas have a chance to speak" Sam quickly suggested.
Dean lowered the gun slightly and yelled, "Cas, tell us!"
Cas opened his mouth, waiting for words to come out, he tried to get something out, a sorry or a Dean, but there was nothing.
He was petrified. He wasn't able to talk.
He looked at Dean and tried again. He tried his hardest to get some words or any sound out. Suddenly a sharp pain was felt at his throat. It felt like he was getting stabbed repeatedly in the throat. The pain was overwhelming and Cas could taste blood pooling in his mouth.
He felt the world spinning around him and he quickly clutched his throat before his legs went soft and he fell, with his head right next to the ring of holy fire.
"Cas?!" Dean dropped the gun and immediately ran towards him. Sam, Crowley and Kevin tried to quickly put out the fire, while Dean quickly picked Cas up and bought him to the couch.
