Tidus and Kinah ran back to the airship without looking back. They entered the airship quickly and took off. The other Al Bhed also boarded their airships and caught up to Tidus and Kinah.
Below, Sin was releasing a shock wave. The fiends all got incinerated along with all the machina the others were working on. The airships above were pushed slightly by the shock wave.
It was their signal to leave. All the airships started going in the same direction. Kinah followed behind.
"Where are we going now?" Tidus asked.
"To our meet up point in the sky. We go there whenever our base at Mushroom rock gets destroyed." Kinah said in a serious tone. "At least none of those temple fools can find us there. I hate to be around them when things like this happen. They always blame the Al Bhed."
The Al Bheds were going in one direction for a long time before making a slight turn. A strange but beautiful sight was a view.
"Whoa! What is that place?" Tidus asked. The place they were heading for was a base in the sky. It was a giant airship that didn't have any buildings, just a place large enough to land lots of airships. The ground was a reflective silver. At that time of the day, it looked golden because of the clouds and the sun.
"This is Al Cloud, the first and only sky base in Spira. You can only find this place if you know the leader, Uncle. The sky city is always moving and he controls where it goes." Kinah said. Tidus stood at the window as the airship landed. People who were already at the city came to greet those who arrived.
"Everyone who is against both Cid and the temple lives here in their airships so Al Bhed aren't the only people you'll see here." Kinah said as they waited for the hatch to open.
"How come you know this place?" Tidus asked.
"Because I'm one of them."Kinah said with no emotion. Tidus was startled.
They got off the airship and stepped onto the warm, silver floor of the base. It was obvious that Tidus stood out a lot because of his odd clothes and the fact that he was with one of their greatest spies.
"Who is this strange boy and do you have news about Cid's daughter?" A man asked. He looked exactly like Wen, only taller and a decade younger.
"Yes, Uncle, I have news about Rikku and the boy who is the talk of Spira." Kinah said in a serious tone. "Rikku has been banned from Home by her own father and ex because of her relationship with Tidus." Kinah said putting a hand on him.
"Hi." Tidus said shyly. The man smiled and said: "So you're Tidus, hey? My name is Uncleesimonsugerichdan, but you can call me Uncle."
"Nice to meet you, Uncle." Tidus said. He had never called anyone "uncle" in his entire life.
"This is good, Kinah. Perhaps the Al Bhed princess will join us for good." Uncle said cheerfully. "I welcome it. She is the one who saved us countless times from the mindless assaults of Cid. He probably used that as a reason to ban her."
"Also, Rain wants Tidus dead." Kinah said. "It's the reason I brought him here."
"This is the best place for him to be. From now on he is one of us. We can't let him fall into the hands of Cid and the temple. He knows too much." Uncle said. "Will you tell us what you know?"
"I've got nothing more to lose so why not?" Tidus said.
"Great! Now that everything is in order, send Rikku the co-ordinates to get here!" Uncle said to one of the Al Bhed. "She isn't very far from here." Uncle said to Kinah and Tidus. "She said she's bringing along some people. She seems to trust them."
"Any clue to who they are?" Kinah asked.
"Old friends that don't trust the temple anymore. That's all I know about them." Uncle replied. They went on with their conversation while Tidus zoned out, wondering who Rikku was coming with.
"It better not be Wen! That'd be a painful shock!" Tidus thought.
Moments later, Rikku's airship arrived. It landed in one sweep. Everyone gathered around the hatch, anxious to see who Rikku came with.
"We rarely get new people around here." Uncle said. "Every new one is a threat, especially-"
The hatch opened and Rikku came out, not with her usual bouncy steps. Whatever was bothering her had to wait because after her was Auron, Wakka, Kimari, Lulu and Yuna, walking far behind everyone.
The crowd didn't respond with the shocked reaction Tidus expected. Almost all of the people there didn't know who the group was and many had never seen Yuna before.
Rikku and the group went straight to where Kinah, Tidus and Uncle were. For a very long time, they all stood in silence until the crowd dispersed.
"It's good to see that you're okay, Rikku. There are some things I need to discuss with you." Uncle said.
"We'll come with." Auron said. He nodded at Kimari. Uncle went away with Auron, Rikku, Lulu and Wakka and left Yuna and Kimari with Kinah and Tidus.
Kimari and Kinah both stood a safe distance from both of them, cautiously watching. Tidus and Yuna said nothing to each other from a long time. And then Yuna spoke.
"Why Rikku?" Yuna asked with a steady voice.
"Why Seymour?" Tidus asked, challenging her question. The long and awkward silence was slowing returning.
"I asked first and I expect an answer." Yuna said in a tone Tidus had never heard from her.
"I didn't choose her. It just happened. You'll never believe what I have to say anyway." Tidus said.
"I know what to believe because I know how you feel about Rikku. You can't hid that from me. I am a summoner. Remember that." Yuna said with a bit of a threat in her words.
"What do you want me to say, Yuna? What do you want me to do?" Tidus asked, gradually raising his voice. "You argue with me because you want to join Seymour's team and then you marry him not long after we break up and now you're here? Why are you here?"
"I didn't get married to Seymour! It turns out he is just another lying bastard like you!" Yuna responded, startling Tidus and Kimari who had known here for a long time.
"There you go again, comparing him to me!" Tidus complained with folded arms.
"Don't you dare blame me for any of this!" Yuna screamed.
"So what? It's all my fault?"
"Enough!" Yuna yelled, silencing Tidus. "I've had enough of you're immature little acts! You owe me an apology and all you can do is whine and blame me!"
"Yuna, I think you need calm down-"
"I don't care what you think! You don't know what I've been through!" Yuna yelled with a fiery aura forming around her. The others came back with Uncle and Rikku, wondering what was going on. Lulu spotted Yuna and her heating aura.
"I don't like what might happen right now." Lulu said.
"What is she going to do?" Rikku asked.
"Unleash an unstoppable force." Lulu said.
Lulu tried to talk to Yuna but she wasn't hearing anything Lulu was saying.
"That's what you get for clinging to Seymour! I loved you, Yuna but you just had to over look that and run into Seymour's arms." Tidus said. "You've changed, Yuna, and I think Seymour is to blame for all of this!"
"I've changed? I find that odd coming from you because you are too immature to understand me!" Yuna yelled with watery eyes and clenched fists.
"I know you better than Seymour ever will!" Tidus said. His voice lowered as if he lost his will to fight. "I love you, Yuna. I always have. You let him come between us."
"I don't want to hear about love!" Yuna squealed at the top of her voice.
The glow around her body turned into flames as she raised her hands at Tidus. The scorching tongues of flame crawled from her body and straight to Tidus. It all happened so fast. There was no time to react.
The sky darkened as if it were midnight and the flames grew brighter as they engulfed Tidus. It didn't seem to harm his body but seep into him. The force from it all pushed the people and airships.
The last thing Tidus saw before he hit the metal ground and took one last desperate breath of air, was Yuna's innocent face with the guilt of murder in her eyes.
That's it for Here Comes Karma. I must admit that I'm a little sad that it has to come to an end. Thanks for reading the ideas of my odd and unusual mind!
