Percy Jackson

The Island

I gasped for air. Somehow we managed to survive the fall or at least me. "Annabeth!" I yelled desperately. I couldn't see her anywhere and the storm wasn't helping at all. I was a pretty good swimmer and even won some competitions back home but the storm was nothing like that. It took me wherever it wanted and all I could do was hold my breath.

"Percy!" I heard someone scream or maybe it was just my imagination.

I tried to respond but as soon as I opened my mouth water would go in. I noticed a blonde girl on top of a floating pile of bags. "Percy!" Annabeth yelled.

I started swimming towards her. It was difficult but I managed to get there. I grabbed her hand and got on top of the small boat of bags.

"Managed to make a small boat," she smiled at me. Her smile faded as soon as it came. I could see she was scared and worried for her friends.

"How did you do this?" I asked her staring at the small boat of bags. The boat was pretty awesome I'll admit that. It was made of about like 8 bags and they were all tied with a rope.

"They were floating next to me and I needed to do something fast so I did the first thing that came to my mind," she continued talking but I didn't understand most of it she was talking very fast.

"Annabeth," I murmured. She didn't list just continued talking like crazy. "Annabeth!"

She stopped talking and glared at me. "Don't ever scream at me again."

"Agreed," I gulped.

Two hours past. Annabeth was asleep. She just fell asleep after some whining about how she was so helpless and how she should be at Greece by now. I simply told her to calm down and get some rest which surprisingly she did. We were holding hands which didn't feel uncomfortable do to the current situation. We were both scared with no idea if we were going to survive.

I opened my eyes. The sky was dark and all I could see was the dark ocean. I was still grabbing hands with Annabeth. She looked so peaceful. He beautiful blond her was sliding down her back and her face seemed so calm. She moved a little in her sleep.

"What are we going to do?" I whispered to myself.

Annabeth coughed a little then returned to her peaceful dream. I touched her arm to see if she was cold. Her skin felt like ice. I got a little close and hugged her in order to at least make her feel a fit warmer. She would probably punch me later but I prefer that than her freezing to death.

"Lost at sea? Sounds familiar" I whispered as I looked at the sky. "I wish you were here dad. Where have you been all this time? I always needed you and you never came." I was angry and wanted to cry but I couldn't. I had to be strong for Annabeth.

I hugged Annabeth a bit tighter and closed my eyes. Soon I was asleep lost in the land of dreams.

I was running away from something in my dream. I couldn't turn around for some strange reason but I knew something was behind me. I ran as fast as I could.

"Percy!" I heard a voice from behind. It sounded like my mom.

I continued running. I seemed to be in some kind of maze. The walls were dark gray and they were shaking. I tried to look back but once I turned around a huge wave hit my face. I started coughing then continued running.

"Percy!" I heard another voice from behind.

I continued running and soon came to a dead end. I cursed as I felt whatever was behind me getting closer. That's when I noticed a door above me. I was about to open it when a wave hit me and crashed me to the wall. I was spinning like crazy and my eyes couldn't see anything. I did my best to find the door but all I could feel was the thick walls.

"Percy!" I heard a voice above me.

I tried to answer but as soon as I opened my mouth water rushed in making me choke. I was going to drown. That's when I felt someone's hand on mine. Someone was helping me up. I tried to see who it was but I couldn't. It was definitely a woman's hand because it was soft and skinny.

"Percy!" she shouted.

I tried to open my eyes but I was too dizzy. I needed to sleep.

"Percy!" the girl shouted again. "Don't die on me yet!"

I wanted to close my eyes and lose myself in my dreams but the girl seemed worried. That's when I realized that I wasn't surrounded by water anymore just by complete darkness.

"Percy!" I heard the girl's voice a bit louder now. I pushed a door that appeared right in front of me. That's when I opened my eyes.

I wasn't expecting a kiss from a pretty blond or maybe she was giving me CPR. Then I remembered everything and things started to make sense, I was dreaming. Annabeth punched my chest once she realized I was breathing and staring like an idiot at her beautiful gray eyes. Beautiful? Where did that come from?

"You idiot!" she cried. "You scared me to death!"

"W-What happened?" I coughed. "Where are we?"

"You almost died Percy," she started crying. Then she covered her face with her hands. "I hate crying."

I sat up and grabbed her hands. "It's alright Annabeth, I am alive now." I stared at her for a few seconds then hugged her.

"Sorry for that I was just scared that you were going to leave me alone in this creepy island," she murmured.

"I won't leave you alone anymore, I promise." I got up and extended my hand for her to grab which she did.

"You must've had a crazy dream because a huge wave couldn't wake you up and you almost drowned if it weren't for me." She said and punched me on the arm.

"Yes, I noticed that." I blurted out and blushed once I remembered her lips on mine. She was trying to save me life but still it was a bit odd. She blushed too.

That's when I realized the huge forest behind Annabeth. I have to admit it was a little scary. "So an Island?" I asked Annabeth.

"No, a giant turtle." She said sarcastically. "Let's find some shelter then we'll see what we can do to get rescued."

She walked towards the forest then turned around when she realized I wasn't following her.

"You want to go in there?" I asked her pointing and the dark forest behind her.

"What you're scared Seaweed Brain?"

"Seaweed Brain?"

She laughed then pointed at my head. "I see you still haven't noticed."

I still wonder why the most embarrassing things happen to me. Yes, I had a little seaweed algae on my head. "So funny." I mumbled then followed her towards the dark forest.
