Chapter I - She was the lion, I the lamb.

As I looked at my weakened, frail, pale, and devastated grandma instantly all thoughts were erased. No words spoken, our eyes connected. No. Words. At. All. My last chance to speak to her. And, I said nothing. The barely open brown eyes of her slowly closed. Turning around no tears were dropped. To everyone else in the room, of course the encounter seemed almost normal. But me and her, we were in another world. Just us; me and my grandma. I could even tell she wanted to speak. Who knows what she would have said. Who knows what I would have said. But then again, who cares? The ability to speak was robbed from my brain. I could not even muster a simple greeting. Pathetic. My phone had buzzed, and I looked at the message from Jadelyn West herself.

'Hey Andre!' It had said, the exclamation mark proving something was odd about my closest friend and future girlfriend. However, that's about 3 chapters away. Now that I think about it I don't even know how me and Jade ended up together. We just did you could say. But, of course I could reply to the text. Of course I could type but not make conversation with my grand mom and her zombie-like appearance.

'Whatsup cutie?' Another text had said, from Victoria Vega. Her flirtatious nature was almost felt, crawling over my neck like her actual lips. God I could use her right now. Her touch, her scent, her everything. I needed it; it was my drug. I was actually surprised she had text me; our little love affair long over. And feeling still remained. I can even tell you how I felt when it turns out she had hooked up with another guy; Beck. He'll reappear in this story a lot also. We weren't even going out, but still.

A couple of days later cancer had won the battle over my grandma. An open casket; I couldn't even muster the strength to look at her enhanced body. I did not have the permission to. I did not deserve to look at the female who taught me almost everything I had learned and made me into the man that explains to you his life. All because no words were spoken.
