Chapter XII: Horrors of the past
"But if Mephilies and Christain control the dimensions then the balance of light and darkness would not be stable and the multiverse could collapse completely!" Rage knew what would happen "If we don't stop them now then all will be lost!"
"Well what do we do? If they opened the realm of in between that has been sealed for eons then we can't reach them." Nova says to Rage
"If we can't reach them then we can't stop them!" Xage points out
"We can reach them…. With Chaos Control…" Shadow says
"Chaos Control?" Sonic asks "But none of us has enough access to form a portal like that, Shadow."
"That's not true," Rage says "I have full access to Chaos Energy with no limit. So did Knuckles and Tikal it was naturally in our blood when we were born, while most gain it through other means like contact with the emeralds they have limits to how much they can use. If you are born with it you have no limit to how much chaos energy you can use. Hell I can access it without any emeralds, they just boost my power."
"Well what are we waiting for?" Icezer asks
~Meanwhile with Christain and Mephilies~
"Eclipse made the perfect tool to get us here… I'm surprised he thought we would help him!" Christain chuckles
"He was dumb… but now that you were able to recreate the dark emeralds we can use them to find Rage's worst foe…." Mephilies laughs with a black emerald in his hand.
"You mean me?" Christain asks Mephilies with an angry look
"No, he had a worse foe when he was younger… before you two even crossed paths, because Rage was younger he was not as strong as he was when you two met… so if he still exists then he would be more of a threat to Rage then you with his increased power!" Mephilies explains to Christain putting the emerald on a pedestal creating a portal.
Out of the portal come a pure black wolf with fire red eyes. He had a torn red long sleeve shirt on, a pair of grey jeans, gloves that had no finer or thumb covers and black and green striped shoes. Over his shirt he had a dark grey zip-up hoodie with the hood up covering his red hair and black spines.
"Who are you?" the wolf growls to Mephilies
"Why hello… Axel… I am Mephilies the dark, that's Christain the dark over there" Mephilies says pointing to Christain "Do you know a hedgehog by the name Rage by any chance?"
"You mean the son of a bitch who imprisoned me in the anti-world?!" Axel yells in anger
"Yes…. That one how would you like to get some…oh I don't know….revenge?" Mephilies grins evily
"Whats the cost?" Axel asks
"No cost if you agree I will boost your dark powers so you can beat Rage… all you have to do is tell me" Christain chimes in
"I'll do it!" Axel grins, Christain shrugs and puts his hands up with a dark purple aura coming off of them…
Axel could feel the power inside of him as christain did this, he then grins widely and walks out of the castle the two hedgehogs were in "This time Rage you will see what the Anti-world is like!" he laughs
~back with the heros~
The group walks out of a blue portal into The realm of in between… the place looked like a grey wasteland after a Nuclear fallout with a city to the west and mountains to the south… in the east was a green lake and forest, the north was a desert with a small castle in the far-off distance on a large hill higher than the mountains to the south,
"Well this is the place…" Rage says looking at the world that they had ended up in,
"If I remember right this is the world for those who do not wish to wait for purgatory to go to heaven or hell so they come here…" Xage says "We should head for the city maybe the people there can help us." Xage says
"agreed" Rage responds and they head for the city
At the city entrance they look around "This place is huge!" Icezer says
"We're going to have to split up if we even want a chance to get any good information!" Nova says
"I'd say we'd have to go solo to cover it all in time…" Sonic says
"Yeah… lets meet at this fountain when we are done or by 22:00 tomorrow" Rage says, the group nods and goes their separate ways,
Xage is asking a middle aged fox about Mephilies and Christain
"You mean the… old kings? No… I cant remember anything nor do I want to…" she says
"Old kings?" Xage asks the woman
"Yes… they once ruled and we were all enslaved by them… until a group rebelled against them lead by Spike the Cat… she is long since dead though… her great, great, granddaughter Arianna holds the throne right now." She says
"That won't be for long if those two are here…" Xage thinks then thanks the lady and waves goodbye
Rage was walking down one of the main roads when he his tackled by Axel
"Hello, Rage…. Its been a while" he grins evily
"Get off of me!" Rage says forcing Axel off with a pulse of fire, Rage gets up and sees his once greatest foe before he banished him to the anti-world "Axel?! But how?"
"Mephilies help me and gave me the power to kill you!" Axel grins his long claws ready to attack Rage
"Really? Then let's see what you got!" Rage taunts the wolf, Axel charges to Rage ready to strike, "Chaos Control!" Rage use Chaos Control to slow time and land a fire powered kick to Axels head before restoring the time flow. Axel tries again but the same thing happens but with an ice powered kick, "Its no use Axel I can control Time and Space with Chaos Control… your better off just killing yourself over me doing it for you." Rage says
"No! I will not fail!" Axel yells charging yet again, but Rage uses Chaos Control to stop time he then freezes Axel's feet so he was stuck and stood in front of him his hand extended and returns time flow to normal
"Goodbye Axel…" Rage grins as his hand generates a dark purple ball "Cosmic Chaos Beam!" the ball then creates a beam putting a perfectly circular hole in Axels chest. Rage shatters the ice and Axel falls on the ground dead… "Just as arrogant as he was 10 years ago…" Rage sighs as the rest of the group runs up to him
"Rage! You didn't show up when you said we'd meet back up and we saw the light and got here as fast as we could are you okay!" Nova pants
"I'm fine… can't say the same for Axel…" Rage says
"Wait Rage that's…. Axels body?" Icezer asks
"yeah I just killed him with a beam of cosmic chaos." Rage says looking at the corpse on the ground behind him
"well we should get going…. Their taking shelter in the head castle in the world capital Memories Keep to the southeast of here." Xage says it's a long journey to get there
