Chapter XIII: All is lost…
Rage's group heads back to the field they came from to head for the desert, the hike back was tiring and it was near nightfall and the group was half asleep by the time they made it to the entrance portal,
"I….need some sleep…" Nova groans his eyes half closed and heavy
"We can settle for the night here." Rage says pulling out a small box with a button
"Where? We can't sleep in the open! Its too risky!" Xage exclaims, Rage smirks when he pushes the button on the cube and the cube forms a small square building with a door just big enough for the group
"Rage I don't know where or how you come up with this stuff…" Icezer says quietly as the group walks inside and falls asleep for the night in the small bunks inside
The next morning Sonic awakens to the sound of an explosion with a yell waking the rest of the team.
"What the hell is going on!" Nova yells hitting his head on the top part of the bunk he was sleeping in
"Something's going on outside!" Icezer says looking over to Rage's bed "And where's Rage?!" The group runs out the door to find Rage down on the ground wounded with no one else in sight the group quickly runs over to help but Rage is surrounded by an invisible ring of energy,
"Rage!" Icezer yells to his crimson brother
"It's….too late for me…." Rage says slowly
"Rage! No don't say that!" Xage yells trying not to cry
"Sorry…I failed…Nova…please do me one thing and finish this for me" Rage says I'm counting on you…" With that Rage disappears in a flash of black chaos energy
"Rage!" Icezer collapses where his brother once lay
"Oh how the hero's always fall…" Snickers a black hedgehog resembling Rage with a voice deep and sinister as they come.
"Darkness!" Xage turns to the hedgehog "You did this!"
"Guilty as charged!" he laughs back at Xage who's eyes were a dark red with anger "Now as for you I have orders to capture you all alive." Darkness grins "If you come calmly I can assure you that Christain and Mephilies will be easy on you all… if you refuse however…. You will not be happy with the outcome…"
"Like you stand a chance against all of us!" Nova scoffs
"That sounds like a challenge" Darkness flashes a toothy grin and snaps his fingers causing everyone to fall down…
~later in an old dungeon~
Icezer awakens in a solitary cell with the rest of the group in the nearby cells all of them fast asleep
"All is lost…" Icezer sighs in despair looking down at the stone floor of his cell "Without Rage... stopping Christain and Mephilies is impossible… and when we're all in here no one will be safe…"
"I see the cold one awakens…" Christain chuckles sinisterly walking in to the dungeon "Tis a shame what happened to your crimson brother… I was hoping he'd die at my hands but at least he's out of the way…"
"When I get out of here Christain I am going to kill you and then skin you and take your body and throw it into the center of a volcano!" Icezer hisses in a fury at the Grey hedgehog
"As much as you would love to get out and do that I'm afraid your desire will be…..somewhat met…" Christain says with a small grin on his face putting a look of confusion on Icezers "You will get out of there….but it will be after The Chains of Darkness take control of you." Christain laughs at the light blue hedgehog
At that moment for chains entangle his arms and legs preventing him from moving they slowly vreep up until they are at his mouth "You will neverget away with this!" Icezer manages to yell before the chain covers his mouth muffling him
Christain walks back into the Grand Hall of the Castle they had taken control of and sits on one of the seats at the table with Mephilies, Darknsee, Xeto and Thalatta
"Well?" Mephilies asks the grey hedgehog
"Icezer is undergoing the process now he should be corrupt in about ten minutes or so…" Christain says plainly
"and the others?" Xeto raises a brow
"They're still sleeping like cubs" Christain chuckles
Back in the dungeon Nova had awakened and saw what was going on everyone was trapped in there with no hope "I'm sorry Rage…. I let you down…" he says with a heavy heart when he notices a hedgehog like figure in a black hooded coat in the entrance to the dungeon with the hood up and red eyes were visible from the hood but nothing else (It looks like the Organization XIII coats). "Who's there?!" he asks in suspicion. The hedgehog walks closer to Nova's cell without saying a word "who are you and what do you want!" Nova growls with a hint of fright in his voice
"Shhh!" the hedgehog shushes in a quiet voice "My name is Xerag and I'm bustin' you guys out of here!" he says using a small chaos spear to break the lock on the cell he heads over to the rest, and breaks the locks and the group walks out.
"Thanks Xerag…. But what are you doing in a place like this alone?"Xage asks
"I'm here because of the people who took over! I'm not going to listen to any of them so I was going to kill them myself but when I heard some of the Dark Spawns talking about a group that they had taken prisoner were going to be subjected to the Chains of Darkness I knew I had to help you." Xerag says "Wait… shouldn't there be one more of you?" he asks
"What do you- wait where's Icezer?" Xage asks and everyone looks desperately for him "No! they must have taken him first!" Xage realizes in horror
"Then it's too late by now for him…" Xerag says "Come we must hurry!" he says dashing into the door way to the outside structure paths of the castle.
After they make it to a Terrance in the paths a swarm of lesser Dark Spawns appear out of nowhere blocking the group off from the path forward
"You go!" Xerag says a sword just like Rage's blade of chaos flashes in the hedgehogs right hand but there was no emerald green hexagon in the blades hilt making it a different weapon. "I will take care of them and meet you up at the high point" he says
"Are you sure?" Nova asks the hedgehog
"Just go!" Xerag says blocking an attack from an enemy as the group runs by him and for the top of the tower towards the high point.
When the group reaches the high point the door to the Grand Hall was creaked open a bit and they busted in to see the group of enemies at the table with a new dark blue hedgehog among them with glowing red eyes and a small fang on his right side
"Well looks like the worms got out…" Xeto says to Christain
"Appears so…" he replies
"Christian! Mephilies! We are ending this right here right now!" Nova yells at the grey hedgehog
"Indeed…" Mephilies smirks
"I'll never forgive you for what you did to my brothers!" Xage growls in fury
"Shell we Christain?" Mephilies asks the grey hedgehog who nods back
"we shell…" he then looks at the dark blue hedgehog and the hedgehog leaps out of his chair off of a pillar of ice
"Icezer?!" Xage gasps in disbelief "No…"
"Hello brother…." Icezer smirks showing off his fang
