Chapter XVI: Finale
Mephilies was in a small room focusing on a book with old relic text when UCB busts open the door startling Mephilies. "I have little time for this UCB…" Mephilies growls looking at the chaos beast
"But boss it's that blasted hedgehog and his pals, they have finished off their counterparts Rage and the ice using one completely fucked the body of his up." The chaos beast still responds
"I was hoping they would do that…" Mephilies thinks as he returns to his book without saying anything and UCB storms out of the room shortly after.
Down with Rage and his team, Rage was dusting himself off after using his fists to bust down a gate with some help from the Chaos Emeralds that is. "Let's move!" Rage grunts.
"Rage, are you sure we are going to be okay after what happened when we defeated our counter forms?" Icezer asks his older brother. Rage simply responds with a smile telling Icezer that he would be fine.
The group then begins to charge up the stairs to the tower where their foes awaited. leading the group was Rage and Icezer, right as they reached the doors they slammed after Rage and Icezer made it through trapping the rest of the group members. Rage and Icezer turn around to see the rest of their friends locked out.
"Hay! Let us in!" Xage yells pounding on the door
"They will have little time for you…" Christain chuckles looking at the two hedgehogs "After all they are on our side now!" Christains eyes flash ared color and the group outside were forced back down the hallways
"Look, Christain I have sent you to hell once no sweat when you were merged with Mephilies and Nazo and I sure as heck can do it again!" Rage yells at the dark grey hedgehog
"Alone as always…" Christain sighs "You will always be alone Rage the Hedgehog, your 'immortality' will ensure it…"
"First I am not immortal I just cannot age past 20, secondly I have Icezer by my..." Rage stops and looks around for Icezer when he notices he was not next to him. When Rage looks back up at Christain he saw Icezer kneeling before him. "What?!"
"You see Rage as I said you will always be alone…" Christain laughs as Icezer stands up and walks to Chrisians right side. "Thanks to your brothers anger problems activating the darkness in his heart was too easy."
"I have had enough!" Rage screams in pure anger "First you endanger my world… second you run back to your fortress in your own realm. Thirdly I kill you just for you to come back and repeat this again. Now you take my own brother!" Rage pants for a second before continuing "You have run around for too long I will take this no more! Today, right here, right now Christain the Dark I will kill you and lock you away in the Time Void for all enternity!"
"HA! That sounds like the Rage I know!" Christain laughs "Now then allow me to introduce you to my latest fusion form…" Christain gathers all of his allies including Icezer and raises his hand. 7 diamonds swirl his small group encasing them in a black fire. After the fire dies one hedgehog stood, he was a pure black, blood red eyes with no pupils. His chest fur a dark blueish purple and his quills standing on end. "I am Eternity the Dark master of all!" the hedgehog laughs

"Rage!" Nova yells running up to him "You can't do this alone, Eternity is darkness! Even with your light you cannot pierce that darkness. I will help you!"
"Nova…" Rage says raising his hand "We have one option…" the Chaos Emeralds float down to them "and I think you know what I mean." Nova smiles at Rage extending his own hand to meet the emeralds. The seven then spin until all that could be seen was a blur of colors. Then the stop and shine so bright that no one could see even outside of the castle for miles. Then as it died it revealed Ultima Rage, and Trure Hyper Nova.
"Chaos Control!" the two hedgehogs both yell at the same time. They warp into the center but instead of two hedgehogs only one stood there, he was a bright red hedgehog with a flare of powerful Chaos Energy that no one had ever felt before.
Back up on Angel Island Tikal and Knuckles were sitting on the stairs of the Chaos Shrine when Knuckles head darted up,
"Do you feel that Tikal?" he asks the light orange Echidna who nods in response
"That feels like Rage and Nova's power." She replies
Back in the dark world Xage had broken the barrier down and the group saw the two hedgehogs standing there exchanging looks waiting for the other to make a move.
"Who are you?" Eternity asks the bright red hedgehog in a loud booming voice
The hedgehog opens his golden eyes "I am True Ultima Ravo…" he responds sounding like both Rage and Nova. "And I am going to show you the road to the Time Void!" Eternity laughs at the hedgehogs response
"Lets take this…. Outside!" Eternity laughs shooting up into the air with Ravo not far behind. When the two reach the outer edge of the planet Eternity laughs "Know that when you fall the world and all those you care about will soon meet you in hell!"
"Let's get this show on the road!" Ravo grins, Eternity responds by charging at Ravo his claws ready to tear Ravo's chest clean open. Ravo grabs Eternity and throws him off to the left.
After Enternity recovers he fires a beam of fire at Ravo who flies up and avoids it. Ravo then dives for Eternity only to be grabbed then forced back down to the planet bellow. Right as Ravo hits the ground he seperates back into Rage and Nova. Nova was stuck in his normal form but Rage was still in his Ultima Chaos form. Right as Rage attempts to stand up Eternity lands on his back.
"you or your fusions cannot defeat me Rage… the chaos emeralds will be mine! And your world will burn!" he laughs holding Rage down. Rage was about to give up when he heard a voice that surprised him.
"Rage get up!" he looks to see a green rabbit atop one of the nearby hills. It was Christina, who was supposed be back home. "I believe in you! Come on you have to get up!" she begs with a desperate look on her face.
Pure determination gave Rage the strength to push Enternity off of his back and roundhouse kick him into a near by large hill "Nobody fucks my world!" he growls before summoning The Blade of Chaos and charging at Eternity at light speed going right through him causing a light blinding everyone.
Once it died down all that remained was Icezer who was unconscious but alive. The others who were used to revive Eternity were nowhere to be found. Rage reduces forms and his friends run up to him.
"where is the rest of them?" Xage asks almost instantly
"I sent them to the Time Void with my Time slice. Icezer remained because he has light left in his heart the rest didn't so they will perish there for the rest of eternity and the eternity to come." Rage responds picking up Icezer "For now I need to rest Xage please grab Nova so we may return home."
And so the group returns home and Rage places Icezer down on the bed inside his house before returning to the shrine of Chaos. Where Tikal, Knuckles and a golden Wolf awaited him… all of which kneeled.
"Whoa what's with the kneeling? It's not like I did something huge!" Rage chuckles as he walks up the stairs "Whos the golden guy?"
"I am Dex, I am the one who guided you through your first test as guardian and the training after." He replies "And the hedgehog you defeated was a big deal… Eternity is darkness and nothing else, the reason he exists at all is because we as gods could not defeat him ourselves so we were forced to lock him away in darkness… when your foes combined their power it gave him just enough energy to break the seal. For you to defeat him with no effort at all is completing the impossible. For that we thank you."
"Good job Rage…" a deep voice comes from behind with a small clapping. Rage turns around to see Axel clapping
"Do I need to beat you again!?" Rage yells ready for a fight
"No… I am here in good terms… I know we have been foes but I am here to amend that… Rage the Hedgehog" Axel kneels with respect before continuing "With your permission I wish to join you as one of the protectors of light."
"Stand up Axel, it's not like I'm a king or anything." Rage sighs, annoyed with the treatment he was receiving "But in response yes you may." Axel stands up and thanks Rage before going to sit with Xage who was watching over Icezer.
"Rage… I come with an offer…" Dex begins "After that performance the gods feel that you should join us up in the realm of Chaos to watch over the universe… would you accept this offer?"
Rage takes a little while to think before answering "It is a tempting offer but my place is here on Mobius. This world needs me, my brothers need me. As much as I would love to I have to turn this down." He then walks down from the shrine with his hand up as a sign of farewell
Rage continues for his house and then lies down in his bed. Rage lies there awake knowing that in the morning peace will be there for a long… long time for with those he met on his journey here on Mobius a battle for the fate of the world will not be for years to come and hopefully longer then that…
With the chaos emeralds all safe with the master emerald this generation is at an end…
