Chapter 15

We walked onto into the Lynches house with me on Rocky's back, Rydel on Ellington's back, and Ross on Ryland's back. They set us down on the couch, but Rocky didn't let go. Instead he ended up sitting on me.

"Rocky get off me you big oaf gosh do you want to flatten me out?" I yelled at the top of my lungs. He just laughed at me while I struggled to get from under him. He eventually did get off of me and sat next to me slinging his arms around me.

"So are you guys like a couple or something?" Riker asked walking into the living room with a glass of orange juice.

"Um," rocky said looking at me looking for confirmation, "just friends."

"Yep friends that will be best for now." I said nodding my head.

"Yeah for now, that can change." Ryland mumbled under his breathe.

"Ok so what do you want to do now?" Rydel asked, "because I am bored." she said resting her head on Ratliff's shoulder.

"You're always bored Rydel." he said pushing her head off of his shoulder. She just put it right back there and he just left it alone.

"See they are meant to be together." Rocky whispered in my ear.

"I heard that Rocky!" both Ellington and Rydel shouted at the same time.

"Um how about we go to the beach and do what we do best." Ross said grabbing his surfboard which he named Juliet, "Let's go surfing!"

After stopping by Chick-fil-A to get some milkshakes, we pulled up to one of the best longboard and shortboard surfing spot is called Rincon, Santa Barbara, California. It was the beach that we always went to, to surf. There never was a lot of people, so we didn't have to worry about people finding us, but it wasn't completely deserted we had went all out bringing things such as: Sand Castles Kits, floaties for whoever need them (Ryland), and sunscreen SPF 30 and 75 (again Ryland burns easily).

It was 11:30 by the time we got there and Izzy was at school so she wasn't with us. Luckily the beach was in walking distance from both her and my house. I could just call her I could just call her, and have her meet us there.

I was put in charge of unloading the surfboards for some reason. I could just tell what surfboard belonged to each person, it was easy. Riker's surfboard was a plain white. Ratliff preferred to boogie board because he hadn't fully learned how to use a longboard or a shortboard yet. Rydel knew how to surf but didn't want to today, she said that her and Ratliff were going to play with Izzy when she shows up. Rocky's was green of course, and ross's was yellow and he named Juliet. Rylands was red and mine was a Roxy board i remember when i got this board.

"Kat,"

I had got it just a couple of years ago…

"Kat,"

I was watching the women's surfing competition and I got the last one…

"Kat!"

"Ahhh," I screamed dropping what was ever in my hands. I also fell down my self.

"OH MY GOSH" Ross screamed running over to me, and I thought he was going to help me because when I fell I hurt my butt. However, he ran straight past me and ran over to his surfboard.

"Juliet are you ok? I'm sorry that the mean woman did that to you" he said picking up the fallen board and caressing it while walking over to where we had put our stuff.

"Ok Ross, let's just pretend i didn't just fall and hurt my butt!" I screamed in his direction "Oh and thank you for scaring me and stopping me from having a flashback!"

"Um who are you screaming at Kat?" Ratliff asked holding out his hand to help me get up.

"Thanks," I said then brushed the sand off my butt, "I was yelling at Ross he completely ignored me and went straight for that board." I said.

"Hey Kat look at this," he said standing next to a pole that had a bunch of flyers on it. "Roxy is has an opening spot on their women's surf team and try outs are in a couple of weeks. Kat you should totally to do that we would make it by just showing up!"

"Um that reminds me, I have something I need to tell you guys." I said twiddling my fingers together.

So that's what I did, it took me 30 minutes to tell them everything that I left out.

"When was this?" Ratliff asked

"Not that long ago."

"Was anyone else there?" Rydel asked getting interest in my story more.

"Not the first time, but the next time Izzy came with me." She looked at me sad "but you can come with me next time I promise."

"Did you get her number for me?" Ross asked

"Um no Ross I didn't"

"You're staying in Cali with us for like, the entire year?!" Rocky said with hope in his eyes.

"Maybe I don't know, I haven't even tried out yet. But if I made it then yes I probably will."

"Well that's it," Ryland said clapping his hands together.

"What's it?" I asked.

"You got yourself a team."

"But I didn't ask for one."

"Well to bad you have one Kat."

It was now 3:30 and Izzy should be getting out of school any minute. I already texted her and told her to go to her house and pick up her swim stuff and Rydel and Ratliff would come and pick her up. We were all just sitting down and being lazy, but i was getting bored. So I grabbed a bucket and filled it up with salt water. Lucky for me Ross, Riker, and Rocky were sitting oddly close to each other. I closed my eyes and swung the bucket forward. I could feel the contents emptying from the bucket and I opened my eyes to see the three of them soaked in water.

"What just happened." Riker was the first person to say something.

"Um you have water on you, gosh Riker keep up!" I said trying to suppress a giggle.

"Did you do this?" Ross asked pushing his wet hair out of his face.

"Well Ross I do have a bucket that may or may not of had water in it earlier" I said acting innocent.

"Kat you might want to run." Rocky said standing up.

"Don't I at least get a head start?"

"We'll give you one because we are nice like that."

"Give me a minute." I said to the three

"Nope" Riker said standing up and crossing his arms.

"Thirty seconds?" I said backing up slowly

"Nope, not going to happen Kat," Ross stood up and they started walking towards me "You get ten seconds."

"I will take what I can get." i said then turned around, dropped the bucket and started sprinting. I turned my head around to see them sprinting after me "Hey that wasn't ten seconds!" and i turned around to try to go faster but I crashed into someone.

"Hey thanks this starfish has been stuck on my face all day!" I looked up to see a tall redhead in the most goofy outfit ever. "Oh hey Ally, what are you doing here?"

"Dez?"
