Danger on the train and a new chapter begins
Getting on the train was easy. Although I had never been one for trains and felt the need to walk or take a car maybe a bus. Come to think of it I had yet to see a bus and have only seen trains and cars. Strange but oh well, anyway like I said getting onto the train I sat down at an empty seat. Once the train started to move it was nice to just sit and look out of the window. The seats however were very hard but that didn't matter as long as the view was great and it was great.
To say the least the ride at first was slow and the view lost what it had to offer as I sat there. I found that the part that I was in was mostly empty all save for an old lady and from time to time I could see a man looking through the glass. I guess he must have been some type of officer who was making sure everyone was safe. Either that or a bad guy.
A few hours into the ride was when it all kicked off. I heard gun shooting and knew something was wrong. So I waited now you may think why would someone wait for danger to come but I had a felling that I would be alright. It's only looking back on this that I now know how foolish I really was. Two guys came in looking for someone or something. They had come through the other door at the other end. No not the one where the officer kept looking through. The one at the other end is the one they came from.
Now I know this may sound silly but what I did was not only dangerous but down right wrong and idiotic to do. As they came closer I got scared and I may have panicked for as soon as they were near me I snapped my fingers and a blue flame hit both of them. I don't know how I did it at the mind you but none the less I did it. The old woman screamed which drew the man from the door to peek in and ask what was wrong. The old woman pointed at the men and although she pointed at me I had by then gotten up taken their guns from them and hid them in my clothes. And bolted to where they had come from. As I ran out of there I could hear the officer yell out, "Hey wait" but I kept going.
I lost him down the long train and about halfway down the train I saw a shadow that was quite big. Feeling scared the window next to me looked easy to open. And so I opened the window by climbing up and once I stuck my heard out I saw the leader that went up to the top. I got an idea to just climb up and wait until the train had stop before leaving. So climbing up was a bad idea and looking back on it now do I see just how much of an idiot I really was. For you see when I got up onto the top of the roof of the train did everything happen so fast but at the same time so slow.
BANG The sound of a gun went through the air. It took only a few seconds before I knew what had happened. The rush of air as I was thrown back by the force and due to the speed of the train itself. Pain from the wound on my shoulder where the bullet had hit its mark. More pain as the ground came up to meet me and I tumbled down the slope and onto a dirt road. The blood seeped out of my wound as my body refused to move. Then everything went black.
Darkness was what greeted me while I was out. Cold so very cold, the smell of metal and blood. The lack of pain and the smell of oil filled the air. A few nights and days I was out. Unaware of everything that had happened. Yet the feeling that something was wrong weighed on my shoulders. On day 8 I woke up to a plain dull room. The first thing I noticed was that there was no pain. Then I saw it, my left arm was no longer there but in its place was a pure black almost onyx metal arm. It had a golden pattern of flowers and leaves. The arm itself was very beautiful. Yet this only made me more sacred and worried about what had happened to my arm for me to have a new one replace it.
The door opened and showed a man who looked like he was from Japan. Onyx hair and eyes stared at me. Face set in a glare yet it held a strong look and his body held a few muscles. He walked towards me and once he stopped he looked at the arm made of metal and then at me.
"That arm I made for you. It is made from a rare stone that never brakes. I put gold into it to form the pattern you see. The arm is known as Black Automail. I found you almost dead on the side of the road. My name is Mr. Hans"
The man said his voice hard and gravely as if he is not use to talking. And it sounded like he was having trouble with the words. Almost like he was from some far off land and had to learn to speak this country's language. I gave a weak smile and nodded before saying anything.
"Thank you how can I repay you?" I ask him and he said that I started work at dawn. Along with learning how to fight hand to hand combat.
2 years later
Now 11 years old I had a bit of unarmed and armed combat, under my belt. I had learned from Mr. Hans both hand to hand fighting known as and called: Kung Fu. He also taught me swordsmanship although I am not very good at it and have yet to mast it I know the very basics if nothing else. It at this time that talk of the Fullmetal alchemist had started up. He was a 12 year old who had passed the exam for the state alchemist. He was the youngest one to pass as well.
Mr. Hans had kept up my Automail and told me to come back once a year for a check up and maintenance. I was going to head back on the road to try and get to Eastwood in order to find this alchemist woman known as Kaede Darkwing. I had at the time kept in touch with Rin the old woman and healer who had told me about her. I had told her that I would be putting my trip on hold as something had came up and I was learning how to take care of myself in case Alchemy should fail me. She had agreed that it was a good idea and had phoned up ahead of time to tell them I may be a few years to get there.
Not having to worry about the guild and the alchemist woman at the moment I set off by foot this time to try and head to Eastwood. I followed the train tracks keeping close in view of them but more near where I could see towns and villages. This way I could stop and get food and work for money. I had guess I was about 11 now just by looking at myself one day. However I could be wrong but to me I really did look like I was 11. Mr. Hans said I acted like someone far older then my age. Almost like an adult. I had told him what had happened to me in the tower of hell and he guess that may have been the reason behind why I act far beyond my years. And yet for some reason I didn't believe that to be the reason I acted. It felt like I was older but trapped in a younger body. This feeling never left but I never said anything about it to the man.
As I walking towards a small town just outside of East City I saw a small black puppy. Looking at it, it looked like it was half starved. I felt sorry for it and dug into my backpack that the old woman gave me. Pulling out some food that was packed I gave it to the puppy. It limped over and took the food eating it. Then it licked my hand and whined. I picked the puppy up to see that it had a bad leg. Being careful I carried the dog the rest of the way to East City. I soon found a vet after asking where one was from a kind young woman. The vet took the puppy and treated it, when the puppy was better I went back to get it. I paid with the last of my money. The puppy stayed by my side and even got me food and kept me warm. Since I had no money I slept inside buildings and on the streets.
It had been a week of being in East City. I had found one run down and abandoned building to stay in. I named the puppy Fang and had been told that he would grow up to be a big dog. This was when I found one thing that was wrong. I had no means to take care of the dog and no way to take care of myself; I let out a sigh as I looked outside. It was raining and had been for the whole week since I had come here. I had more or less moved into a very empty and abandoned building. For food I had picked pockets and used the money to buy food. However that all changed when I tried to pick the pocket of the one woman I had been looking for.
She gave me a deal. I could die where I stood or I could learn alchemy. I chose to live and learn alchemy. When I told her who I was she told me that she already knew as someone had given her info on me. She would pay for my food bills and she began to teach me. Already knowing about me and the truth or rather knowing I could do alchemy without a circle. She taught me what alchemy really was by breaking it down and showing me everything there was. She was not alone in just teaching me. She had one more student a boy my age maybe a year or two older who called himself Rat.
We had become a family over time and then on that one fateful day both I and Rat had lost her. You see I had gone to try and save someone by taking on a job far above my alchemy training level. And above my fighting level as well. I was so foolish for what I even tried to do. I stood no chance, and sensei knew that. She defeated the bad alchemist but it cost her, her life. In one move she had shielded me and had killed the attacker. It happened in slow motion her body fell as she tackled me to the ground. The attacker also fell and for a moment I thought the attacker had died. But it just got back up and laughed.
Now I don't know what made me do what I did. It could have been anger and hate for this monster or it could have been fear and anger mixed in. All I now was I clapped my hands and shot out blue flames I made a wall from these flames as I carried sensei's body out of sight. I stayed with sensei and heard her last words. "You must live promise me that you will live until you're an old age pensioner and then only can you die and only by a natural death like old age" I cried but I promised her I would she died with a smile on her face. Her body grew cold and still.
This was how Rat found us. We made a grave and Rat sang a sad song to help her soul go to where ever it goes. Rat said he would stay with me so I won't be alone. He said we could still live in that abandoned building. I agreed with him. He was the one who got me my first job which was to wash dogs. We both saved up enough money and then we made our trip to Eastwood. Once there only I joined the knights' guild for alchemist. Rat said it reminded him to much of state alchemist.
I had also been learning more fighting skills and ninja skills that came from Xing. Also I had learned how to cook and a few other things. These things will shape me and change me forever. The guild was nice and I got on with a few others. From time to time I would look back and remember the people I made friends with. Mr. Hans, Anna and Max. Although I still see Mr. Hans from my Automail I couldn't help about the two I met at the Tower of Hell.
2 more later
I was now along with Rat on my way to Central City. I had been given a job to get a book from the book shop in East City. I was okay with this and I could get some more books. The mission as it was would take up 2 weeks. Little did I know that although we would get the book needed this would be where my real adventure would start.
Omake:
Envy smirked although he had killed that alchemist who had those two kids with her. He had found at least one of them having what his father wanted. The girl was a human sacrifice. She had done the taboo, Envy just knew it and it had been two years now since that day. He had told Farther and Wrath as well. This seemed to make them happy and they had said to just keep an eye on her. The boy was nothing to them but then again it could be like with the Elric brothers. The boy may not be using his alchemy all the time. And so it could turn out to be two human sacrifices. Envy's smirk widen at that.
Although he had to keep an eye on them it didn't mean he wouldn't go easy on them if he had to fight them. Just that he wouldn't kill them.
