I woke much too early for my liking, but my Saturday morning was off to a good start compared to the mornings of the last few hectic days I'd had. I ate my favourite breakfast: a simple bowl of cereal. But I was too absorbed in the book I was reading, and ended up spilling a few spoonfuls of milk and cereal on myself.

I wasted away the day lazily, reading and completing my homework until around mid-afternoon. I was just going through the pictures I had on my camera, deciding which ones were good enough to keep for my photography class and for my own pleasure, when a tap on my bedroom door sounded.

I stood and opened it to reveal Aika, one of my father's many housekeepers in our home. She smiled apologetically at me. "Sorry to interrupt, Ms. Morinozuka, but there's someone on the phone for you." She held out the wireless phone from one of the many rooms in the house. There was one stationed in every room but mine. Since I didn't really speak to anyone, I never thought someone would call me. Ever.

Who could it be? There was only one way to find out.

Although my eyebrows knit together with confusion, my lips formed a small smile and I held out my hand to receive the phone. Aika took a step forward and handed the device to me. She bowed once before leaving my room and shut the door behind her.

I stared at the phone in my hand for a second or two, wondering who might be calling and why. Maybe it was Haruhi? Or maybe my father, who was overseas doing business? I sighed, knowing I had to answer at some point, and brought the phone up to my ear. "H-hello?" I spoke quietly.

"Hi, Soymikou!" I heard two voices yell cheerfully. I slumped my shoulders and brought my other hand up to pinch the bridge of my nose as I sat back down on my bed. It was the twins.

"It's Hikaru!" Hikaru spoke.

"And Kaoru!" I heard Kaoru's voice chime in.

I could practically hear the sound of the smirks etched upon their faces.

"And you're on speaker phone!" They said together, happily.

I sighed deeply into the phone.

"You're probably wondering why we're calling you." guessed Hikaru.

"We need your help with the science project." Kaoru explained.

They needed my help with the science project? I was lousy at science and they knew that. Obviously they weren't telling the truth; they had to be calling for some other reason. Maybe to apologize for spying on Haruhi and I yesterday? Ha, yeah right. It was the twins. Of course they wouldn't do something so kind, they were troublemakers after all.

"Call Haruhi." I said in a quiet yet annoyed voice, my thumb seconds away from pressing the 'end' button to hang up.

"Wait!" They both shouted, as if they knew I was moments away from ending the call. On the other end of the line, Kaoru chuckled nervously. "We needed to call you specifically because...uh, because..."

"Because Haruhi was busy!" Hikaru hastily finished his brother's sentence.

I raised my brow, suspicion filling my mind. They are lying, I know it. "What are you really calling me for?" I questioned in a hushed tone.

The boys seemed flabbergasted at my accusation by the amount of 'psh's and 'pft's that sounded in my ear, until I finally heard them sigh in defeat. "Okay, fine. We're not calling about the science project." Kaoru admitted like a child, a slight whine in his voice.

"We wanted to know how you can tell us apart." Hikaru explained.

I was taken aback by what Hikaru said. How had they noticed that I could tell them apart? Surely others could do it as well. "Hm?"

"Yesterday at Haruhi's house, you said "that was really low, Kaoru" to me." Kaoru's anxious voice stated. "How did you know it was me, Soymikou?"

"Uh..." How were they so observant? I had simply looked into the nearest twin's eyes, noticed he was in fact Kaoru and sternly spoke to him. His eyes held not only mischief and playfulness, but something else that I still couldn't name. I felt my cheeks grow warm with embarrassment. I can tell them apart by what's in their eyes, but there's no way I'm telling them that. "I-I just can." I told them in a whisper.

I heard both of them groan loudly. "Tell us!" Hikaru whined.

"Please!" Kaoru pleaded.

"No. Goodbye." I huffed before ending the call for good. I felt a little guilty for being so brief and rude, but I couldn't let them know how I knew which twin was which. I'd never be able to live through the amount of teasing and attention from them if they found out. I shuttered, picturing me as an elderly lady with an elderly Kaoru and Hikaru nagging me as I sat on a rocking chair knitting a sweater.

However, despite the abrupt ending and gruff I gave them, I was extremely proud of myself. I hadn't shown any signs of distress. I hadn't trembled, gotten nauseous, felt lightheaded or fainted. I'd say that was a new personal record; I had barely shown any symptoms at all! Of course, I blushed furiously and stuttered slightly, but those things I could barely help but do. Talking on the phone wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be. In fact, I had found it ten thousand times better than talking to a person standing right in front of me.

But what bugged me was why had it been so important for them to find out how I could differ the two them? Surely other people could do it, like their own parents and friends. It shouldn't have been such a big deal that I specifically could do it.

Fortunately, I easily shrugged off the whole experience and continued on with my weekend. Monday, however, wasn't going to be as easy...
