Chapter 2:New Companion and A Small Crush

"I can't believe him Ash is nothing to me anymore" May told herself but never knew she had a visitor, she heard footsteps and that's when she decided to speak "Come out whoever you are I know someone's there"

"Hey am I interrupting your thoughts?" Paul had asked the brunette.

"Paul you scared me and all I really want to know is what to do because Ash doesn't trust me anymore and I can't be friends with him anymore because of it" May had told him "I might have no one else to trust or anyone with me on this journey I'm taking to become a top coordinator"

"Maybe you can I can go on this journey with you as long as I can continue my gym battles and you come watch and I can watch you" Paul had told May as she got excited "Sure well you can get one right now this time around we have new badges from my hometown my dad trusted me with this so battle me and win and you get this to go to the finals" she had told him.

"You're so on Maple" he told her "We'll see about that Shinji we'll see" May told him.

"Chimchar come out" he ordered his pokemon. "Come out Beautifly" she called out her pokemon.

"Beautifly use Solar Beam on Chimchar" she told her pokemon, "Use flame thrower to protect yourself Chimchar" Chimchar did as he was told then attacked Beautifly causing critical damage.

"Beautifly NO!" May yelled and thought of another attack fast "Use Silver wind on Chimchar now Full Blast" "I see where you're going with this and it won't work or help you here Chimchar dodge it go behind Beautifly and use you're Flame Thrower but this time give it your all" he ordered his pokemon to do it and managed to win the match with it.

"Beautifly you were great out there now rest" she told her pokemon as Beautifly returned to it's pokeball. "Chimchar return you were great" Paul told his pokemon as Chimchar was returned to it's pokeball.

"Here you go congrats" she said with a smile on her face as she handed him a newly badge she had in her small bag. He thanked her for it and they started walking until he immediately stopped at a bike shop and bought one for May to pay for the one Ash destroyed. "Here you go I hear this bike is better than Hoenn's" He told her as he handed her the bike. "Why don't we both ride it? There's enough space doesn't it?" She asked with a smile no one could refuse. "Ok fine but I'll pedal because girls as pretty as you don't deserve to get tired and complainative" he told her and she replied blushing "Oh ok..." She hopped on the bike holding onto Paul's waist and he started pedaling.

'May why did I need to have a crush on you? You're so different from the other girls. Dawn is nothing compared to you. I wish I could tell you how I feel about you. But you'll never understand after all I'm nothing but a friend to you' he thought to himself.

"Paul are you okay?" she asked him concerned.

"Yeah it's getting late let's stop at the pokemon center" he told her.

"Okay Paul" she told him as he stopped the bike and they both got off and entered the pokemon center.

"Nurse Joy we need two rooms" she told the nurse Joy.

"Sorry we only have one room but don't worry there are two beds" she told May and Paul.

"We'll take it" Paul said and thanked her.

They both walked into the room changed into their sleep-wear and got into their beds.

May fell a-sleep right away but Paul looked at her peacefully and whispered 'Sweet Dreams my lovely' he then fell a-sleep thinking about May.
