Note that this story works on the basis of 'Generic didn't get a dose of that gas, however the two did have that meeting at Teitan Elementary'. If you don't get what I mean, check out the DCW forums about Detective Conan Special and find the synopsis Chekhov MacGuffin made of the Generic chapter.

"Pass me your phone!" she shouted to Ran, who despite her doubts and slight anger obeyed her command.

"Generic," she hissed after the call connected, "get me some of that drug you made. I'm going to need at least 2 canisters. Plus a diamond, the kind that cuts through anything - it doesn't matter about the size – and some strong rope."

Sure enough, the boy himself ran up with the objects in a box just as Kaito finally opened the hatch to the shuttle. "I'll do this if I can stick around with-" he cut himself off as she stared into his eyes.

The strawberry blonde whipped the diamond out of Generic's box and slashed Kaito's tentacles before he did anything dangerous. The pain from it digging into her was nothing when she knew it was nothing short of a miracle to slice them all off when she had such a small diamond.

"Neechan, pin him to the ground!" she cried, Generic watching on in confusion and unconsciously crying out of fear. Ran slammed him down with a roundhouse kick. Surprisingly, when it came to Ran's strength, the metal that Kaito was made of was no match.

Shinichi peeped out of the shuttle, only to find the three of them tying up the alien. After Ran's eyes met his, all attention went from the alien to him.

"Shinichi! Please don't ever abandon me again!" she sobbed, hugging him while the two shrunk scientists watched on. Generic, clueless as to why he had tears on his face, wiped them away before anyone noticed.

As for Ran's plan, she'd forgotten it after Ai-chan had sprung into action. Ai's plan had worked much better than she would have liked to admit which was probably why she'd forgotten.

Ran and Shinichi, with the help of a few tentacles on Shinichi's part, moved the shuttle and Ladrafiefr from the park while Generic and Haibara erased traces of evidence that they were there. The shrunken boy declared that he would keep the severed alien appendages for analysis, therefore when Haibara took out one of the memory pills, she found she couldn't do it as he would have no reason to study the strange floppy objects.

The other pill had gone to the detective himself to pass on to Ran.

After depositing their loads at Agasa's place, Shinichi paused. If he were to erase her memory, he'd have to go into hiding and he just couldn't do that to her after all this time. He had gotten into this mess simply because he wanted a normal life…and ended up pulling her into the secret.

Haibara, who'd finally gotten back after dawn with Generic right behind her, told him that the Organisation probably wouldn't care about the three of them anymore. However, if Ran knew, they would get right on her trail if she blabbed, so the choices were either to swear her to absolute secrecy or use the pill. Either way, he'd have to go into hiding because obviously a cyborg of his calibre couldn't be wandering the streets.

"For the panel on your head a skilled surgeon – or maybe the alien himself, if we could trust him – could replace it with an ordinary metal plate so that it wouldn't hinder you," the other not-a-child commented. "As for the tentacles, they could get sliced off in the same manner as we did with the alien. We can't guarantee it'll be painless though so Sherry will need to stock up on painkillers beforehand."
