Jack was furiously working on business papers in his office as he was preparing for a big contract deal with a different company. He looked at the watch and sighed, "I should get going." He said to himself as it was almost 10pm.

He felt his cellphone vibrating and took a glance at it to see who the caller was, "Crow, huh?" and smirked as he clicked on the call button, "Hello?"

"Oi, Jack!" he heard his friend's voice with loud laughter coming from the background, "You almost done yet? Kiryu and Yusei said that you doing overtime, so I just wanted to call you."

Jack smirked at his friend's words, "You're slacking off, aren't you?"

"Slacking off?! Just so you know, I am almost done with work!" Crow's voice was loud, but that didn't stop Jack from laughing, "Stop laughing! Anyways, how's the project going?"

"It's going well, I'm finishing up things here now too. I'll just call you later okay?" Jack replied as he was organizing his documents.

"Huh, Oi, Jack! Wa…" but before Crow could finish his sentence, Jack hung up the call and began continuing his work.

As he was finalizing his papers, he took a glance at his phone and somewhat looked at it for a few minutes. He knew that she wouldn't call him, but he just thought that maybe she would call him.

He knew that it was over between Carly and him, but he still cared for her and wanted to be with her, but he knew that only staying with her would only distract her from her work.

After organizing the papers, Jack stretched his arms and grabbed his coat and headed out the door.

His only hope was that for Carly to succeed and to move on with her life.

The Phone Call

The alarm rang as the blonde man turned off the alarm, but still had his head buried on the pillow. He didn't want to go to work, but he knows that he had to do what he had to do and also the company was depending on him to fulfill that contract.

He slowly got up and pulled up the curtains as the sunlight entered the bedroom. He stretched his arms and took off his shirt and headed to the shower room.

He was tired about the deal that he was in charge of and just couldn't wait for it to be signed and deal could finally be fulfilled. The phone rang and the ringtone rung throughout the house, but he took his time and just left the phone ringing and let the answering machine to receive it. He just wanted to have this moment of peace before his day started.

After the cold shower, Jack headed to the kitchen for his usual breakfast: a sandwich and a mug of coffee. While he was heading to the kitchen, he pressed on the playback button and just let the message play.

You have one message.

As message began to play, he froze as he heard a very familiar voice:

"Hey Jack! It's me, Carly. How are you? Ack… You are in the shower right now. Then again, by the time you hear this message, you're probably having a sandwich and a coffee, right? You shouldn't always eat that for breakfast… That's not healthy. Well anyways, I'll see later okay? Let have lunch together!"

Jack was stunned and looked around his house to make sure she wasn't around the house. He knew she couldn't be at his house, but that phone call creeped Jack out. He looked the clock realized that he was going to have to skip breakfast and had to go to work.

It was already lunchtime and Jack was already exhausted, not because of his work, but because of his phone was ringing and vibrating non-stop because of Carly kept calling and messaging him.

As Jack sighed, someone approached him from behind and tapped his shoulders, "Working hard, Mr. Atlas?"

Jack turned around and saw a smiling blue-haired man, wearing a suit, behind him, "Kiryu..." Usually he would say something witty at him, but he was really wasn't in the mood nor had the strength, "What do you want?"

"Let's go for lunch." Kiryu smiled and pointed at the elevator as a black-haired man was standing there waiting, "Yusei is waiting and besides we need to talk about the contract."

Jack sighed once again, "Alright, let's go" and decided to join them. His phone began to vibrate again and signaled Kiryu and Yusei to go ahead for while he took this call.

"What do you want, Carly? Jack demanded

"Why aren't you replying to me?" Carly pouted as if nothing happened, "Were you meeting your friends again?"

"Carly, listen." Jack was trying to finish what he was saying, but he was interrupted by Carly.

"Ah~ I know you just needed some alone time and I totally understand that you need it, but…" Carly kept talking and kept on talking without a care in the world.

Jack sighed as he didn't want say this to her, "It is over between us, Carly. I got to go now."

Carly remained silent for a while and Just was Jack was about to hang up, she began to speak in a monotone voice, "Really? Cause I don't think it is over yet… Why would you think like that? That's impossible… You can't think like that… That's not like you… It's not over between us." Carly kept rambling on and on.

Jack was startled at Carly's reaction and hurriedly tried to end the call as fast as possible, "Well, I have to go now…um… bye…"

But before he could end the call, Carly kept rambling, "Where are you? I thought you were having lunch with me. Are you seeing someone? Who? And when did I allow it? And…" he quickly ended the call.

His phone vibrated again, but rather than picking up the call, he rejected the call and headed to the elevator.

Lunchtime was over and rather felling refreshed, Jack was irritated and somewhat afraid as his phone kept vibrating non-stop. He turned off the vibration because it was getting to the point of annoyance. He assumed who kept doing that, but at the same time, he didn't want to believe on what he was assuming.

His friends already found out that he broke up with Carly, but they didn't expect her to react that way.

Jack sighed and looked at the clock, "5 hours left, huh?" he said to himself and stared at the computer screen, the contract was almost done and only needed some adjustments, so he decided to have a drink with the guys for old times' sake. He definitely didn't want to go home early today after what he was going through with Carly. However, he sent them sending a message through the phone, he sent an email to them.

Work ended faster than expected as Kiryu and Yusei were waiting for him at the first floor. Jack quickly turned off his computer and headed to the elevator. As he was waiting for the elevator, he looked at phone. Thankfully, he turned off the vibration setting in his cellphone, but there was something that scared him as he was staring at the black screen.

'Maybe I am just overthinking things.' Jack thought and checked his phone.

What he saw was startling…

There were 60 missing calls from Carly and more than 170 unread messages from her, most of them were voice messages. He felt a chill down his spine as he was scared and stunned on what to do. The elevator rang as the door opened and Jack immediately entered elevator and tried to keep his composure.

Then she called again.

Jack was hesitant about on picking up the call, but he had to end this once and for all.

"What do you want, Carly…"

"You're done with work, right?" Carly was happy as she kept talking, "Let's have dinner together~~~ please~~~ I know you're busy and all, but…" But before she finished her sentence, Jack interrupted her.

"Carly, I told you there is nothing between us anymore… I don't need time to be alone… We can't be together. Stop calling me and sending me messages. We are through." Jack was direct and he wanted to end this as fast as possible.

There was a small pause for few seconds before Carly spoke again.

"Why? Who said that we are through?" Carly's voice suddenly was monotonous, "Why do keep saying that, Jack? Why do you playing these jokes like that? It's so painful, Jack… It's as if you don't want me anymore… But that's impossible, Jack is mine and mine alone…"

Jack was feeling chills running down his spine as she kept rambling on. The elevator finally stopped and he was about to hang up on her when suddenly she said to him

"Don't hang up on me. You wouldn't do that, right? Of course not… You wouldn't that to me…"

Without hesitation, Jack immediately hung up, and bolted out of the elevator. Although Jack didn't tell Kiryu and Yusei about what happened, they both knew something was up as Jack a little shaken up.

"Eh?" Crow was surprised when he heard about Carly's sudden weird actions as he handed the group's 4th pitcher of beer and the order of fried chicken, "Dude, just block her number, It ain't much of a big deal." And showed his phone that had a list of people that he blocked. The group was talking about the contract deal as well as Jack's issue with Carly.

Kiryu, with his filled-up mug, just sighed, "Or you can call the police, but then again, I don't know if they can actually help… Just give her time, she'll forget about you in no time." and took a sip. He didn't really help much as he was thinking deeply about the contract.

It was letdown for Jack as Kiryu didn't give much advice about his dilemma and it didn't help as Yusei wrapped his arms around Jack as his face was red as tomato and reeked with alcohol, "You think too much… Just like Kiryu says, Give her time, okay?" and began to giggle.

"Boy, he sure is active when he's drunk, huh?" Crow grinned and carried on with the other orders.

Jack somewhat felt that the guys were trying to help him on their own individual ways, but it didn't really help him. His phone was ringing but he didn't notice it as guys were getting loud and rowdy.

Several hours have gone as Jack finally reached home after taking his colleagues home and he was grateful that Crow helped him. He smelled like alcohol and smoke as he quickly headed to the showers. He didn't expect to get home so late, but it was quite entertaining. He got out of the shower and noticed that his answering machine was blinking, He didn't want to check the machine, but like a bad habit he pressed on the button to check on his messages, it was her voice again, he didn't need nor want to hear from her, so he pressed the erase button, but the voice message kept on going…

He kept pressing the erase button, it wasn't working, Jack froze for a moment but was relieved as the message ended, however…

"Why aren't you picking up your phone?" It was another voice message from her. It didn't matter if he was drunk or not, he was scared to the point of turning off the answering machine and disconnecting his phone line. He checked his cell phone ignored all the new messages that was from her, he immediately blocked her number and marked her messages as spam.

He finally reached his bed and yet he couldn't sleep as the thought of Carly was slowly frightening him. He just hoped the guys were right about Carly just needs some time to understand and eventually she would forget about him.
