A/N: If you begin to gain a feeling of deja vu from portions of this chapter ignore it, i find myself repurposing sections of a deleted chapter.

Adrian awoke that morning with a yawn grumbling as he padded his way down the hall to the restroom. There was so much he wanted to get done and surprisingly without the influence of 'let's-play-chess' Ron he was eager to get to it. Breakfast was slow and again his younger body displayed just how it influenced his behavior. With still no word on how the DMLE was handling the Pettigrew situation and indeed nothing from Sirius himself; Adrian was torn between happiness that Sirius was out and likely recovering somewhere without having been discovered, and anxiety over the lack of information on Pettigrew.

Once he was back in his room he decided to check the tablet for any progress reports. The nanomorph with Neville gave a favorable progress report saying that Neville's confidence was getting better with each visit. The nanomorph at St. Mungos flagged another fifteen long-term patients as having curable afflictions and requested orders for each of them. Adrian was reminded of the treatment he had requested for the Longbottoms, specifically the part with the subspace linked nanite-brain colony, and he wondered if Neville might benefit from being able to spend each night after falling asleep with his parents in the mentally created alteran academy. He decided to have the nanomorph stationed there ask Neville and perform the procedure if Neville agreed.

The final report of the day came from the Nanomorph stationed with the Dursleys at Number 4. During the night, and it should come as no surprise when slightly less than two weeks into the month of August, the nanomorph located at the residence reported the visit from the slightly harried headmaster.

The apparent flaw in the newly repowered bloodward was that while ensuring nobody in the wizarding society would even question the existence of Adrian Evans before dismissing him as not important to their schemes, or even be able to find where he was or where lived if they intended his family harm. It behaved somewhat like an overpowered notice-me-not or perception filter and therefore hadn't erased the knowledge of Harry Potter their one time specky, underfed, bespectacled, and scarred hero. There was still a mail redirection on the name he'd been born with, and Dumbledore still knew of Harry Potter, though the watcher he'd set had been subverted to believe harry was a different boy and Dumbledore's blood ward and health monitors were no longer properly functioning.

The technological clone which Adrian had left at the dursleys was maintaining a magical duplicate of his magical signature from before his adoption, which would allow the remaining wards that weren't tied to the existence of the blood ward to be spoofed into reporting the continued presence of a Harry within the house at number four.

"Hmm.. there seems to be a conflicting reading. The spell reports that the blood wards still exist but don't appear to be around this domicile, no matter," the suspected-to-be-going-senile old wizard had muttered, "even without the blood wards you should still be safer here, where none have found you yet. Ah, yes, perhaps, yes this is probably just an extension to the protection the wards are simply hiding themselves unless needed. Brilliant deduction I deserve a lemon drop."

Adrian snorted at the incredulity of the old headmaster as he read the wizard's comments — included in the report thanks to the enhanced auditory sensors of his mechanical agent located at his one time former residence. Hadn't the aged wizard ever heard of a phone book? Not to mention the varied oddly dressed people over the years who had bowed to him or shook his hand in glee before his aunt chased them off. Adrian winced at the remembered punishments for each such infraction. The last such having put his aunt off taking him along in public.

He set aside the report and started working on how to make money. Sure he had an incredibly advanced technology base to work with, but he didn't want to just hand over the plans to something revolutionary and tip his hand getting himself locked up as a 'national resource' or anything similar. He would need to examine existing technology for viable improvements— advanced enough to be worth the effort yet not so much as to raise any red flags.

He would also need to build up a body of supporting work for anything he introduced which he could produce if asked how he came about the improvements, which meant more work. Adrian sighed, this was all a long term project and he needed to remember to pace himself, no sense in turning into Hermione.

~ Death Derailed ~

After some discussion with his wife and his boss at the office Jason had decided to take his vacation a week early having explained to his boss that a younger relative had recently been adopted into his family and they needed some time to get settled in.

Jason got up from his desk and walked down the hall towards adrians room, knocked lightly on Adrian's bedroom door and asked, "Adrian, may I come in?"

A muffled, "Enter" was heard from the other side, so Jason eased the door open to be greeted by a mess of papers spread throughout the room.

"What's all this?" Jason asked staring at the chaotic layout.

Adrian looked up, "plans, schematics, chemical formulae, possible various minor improvements to things that i hope we can patent and use."

"Adrian," Jason fumbled for the appropriate response.

"How exactly do you know all of this, I mean, not that i'm trying to be mean, but Hogwarts isn't exactly known for having a stellar academics in the science and engineering departments." Jason trailed off.

Adrian gave a soft laugh, "yeah, actually that's something I've been meaning to talk to you about."

Jason looked thoughtful for a moment before saying, "Before I forget, and this is going completely off topic, there is a family reunion in Bristol next week. Now what was it you wanted to talk with me about, and more urgently why?"

Adrian led him over to the wizard's trunk, which was open to an expanded space furnished onto a small apartment. The green eyed boy calmly dropped down into the expanded space using the ladder set into the side, and called back up to the top, "come down!"

Shaking his head Jason copied the motion of his adopted son and easily entered the compartment. "You still haven't said what you mean to talk to me about."

"It's more show than tell." the younger brown haired wizard replied turning towards the pile of artifacts in the center of the room.

"So, I see." Jason said taking in the stockpile.

"The majority of these artifacts will take some time to go through but the main piece I wanted you to see was the repository." Adrian said picking up the compact portable form of the repository, walking over to the faux stone wall to deploy it. "It's a neural interface that contains a library of knowledge going back a very very long time. When you access it I stress that you focus on only downloading the basic education and only one or two advanced subjects."

Jason pondered for a moment the options before Adrian interrupted his thoughts, "What two subjects do you think you want?"

"How specific does it have to be? I mean, can I just go with a full download of all their engineering knowledge or do I have to be specific with just electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering." Jason asked looking at Adrian.

"I think you could probably get away with two of those due to the overlap in concepts and one other unrelated field and maybe a complimentary to your other choice." The temporally displaced wizard replied.

"Alright, I think I have my choices." Jason stepped up and before Adrian could ask what he'd chosen had looked into the repository with his head firmly gripped by the device.

After the first minutes Adrian began to grow worried though he wasn't sure exactly how long it had taken him to complete his own download it seemed his 'dad' was taking forever. After five minutes the machine disengaged its firm grip upon the elder wizard's skull.

"Jam cap mea! I think it completely rebuilt my occlumency shields," Jason said while holding his head. "Seems it also received a minor upgrade from you somehow Adrian"

"What do you mean?" The green eyed boy asked.

"I asked for subjects by timestamp and the mental shielding was the last thing updated and while the date system used was slightly different than our own it did indicate a large gap between that and the remaining subjects. I managed to download what I'd consider to be a complete college level education and a few more advanced subjects. I'll let you take the lead on this project though, you don't have to relearn 40 years worth of seeing the world one way. It's going to take me a long time to actually reach the point where I can practically apply any of this information." The repository had downloaded all the requested information but just like Harry the knowledge was locked up until Jason could pass the tests in theory and practical applications for each level before the next set was open for use. The adoptive parent stood and ruffled Adrian's already messy hair. "Sandra will probably want the complete medical database though."

Adrian sighed leading him away from the repository and towards some comfortable chairs set in the expanded space and said, "Let's discuss the why now shall we?"

"Give me a moment for my head to settle down." Jason said.

After a few moments of companionable but awkward silence Adrian finally spoke slowly at first then with a rush as he built up steam. "I.. um.. setting aside the problems and potential conflicts the historical database hints are waiting for us beyond this planet. I mean to adopt or foster every magical or partially magical orphan in the UK before I'm eleven, and give them a better option than going to hogwarts where they will be cut off from a possible successful future on the mundane side for a dubious at best proposition of somehow managing to find a future among a society controlled by those who would rather Tom Riddle won in his conquest.

A/N: I've received mixed reviews about letting anyone other than Harry have access to the Ancient Head Sucker, this is a calculated risk. Even reconciling its existence with the timeline edit will be a work in progress. instead of trying to discredit it I humbly ask that you think instead on ways to make it viable.

Omake: Hijacking the Gate Part 3

The antarctica gate spun up again spitting the SG1 team out. This time all the illusions were in place already. The team exited the wormhole and stepped into a beautiful city of golden spires.

A strange looking being stepped forward—It was Harry wearing an illusion to make himself appear as one of the grey blue skinned protoss—the creature had digitigrade legs and no visible mouth. When Harry spoke he broadcast his word using legilimency so the words seemed as if they were coming from everywhere and nowhere. ::You came through the warp gate of the Xel'Naga::

"We mean your people no harm." Daniel said going his typical diplomat route.

::Daniel Jackson:: the alien—Harry—turned towards him, ::We have heard much of your people. Do you really think it wise to spread to all and asunder that you've taken out a leader of the goa'uld? Or that you've royally ticked off Apophis. You even wear your home's gate symbol proudly, daring anyone hostile to come to challenge you. You are a very young race indeed to willingly take the ire of such an enemy and continue to antagonize them when they knew nothing of your origins::

"Perhaps a people as advanced as yourselves could see fit to help us resist them." O'Neill inserted his foot into his mouth.

::Alas my people are faced with a more pervasive threat of the zerg.:: Harry held up his hand and projected the illusion of one of the creatures morphing it as he spoke, ::Even one of these creatures can lead to the loss of an entire planet for within it is contained the base code of the entire zerg ecosystem in the form of a psionically controlled mutagenic virus. The creatures seek to consume all before them absorbing the essence of the living into their code of life to improve their adaptability::

::We have contained them to this sector of space for many years, and must keep watch ever vigilant to prevent this scourge from destroying all life in the galaxy::

"Forget I said anything" O'Neill gulped.

::As I said you are but a young species with potential but still young. Come the warp gate has realigned we can now activate it to send you home::

A short while later and Harry's modification to the DHD proved successful in allowing a wormhole to be established between two gates on the same planet. As soon as SG1 was gone he dropped the illusion, "Damn, it's tiring to broadcast thoughts over legilimency"
