AN: I'm sorry it took so long to update... Homework, school, horse ridding blah blah blah... ANYWAY! HIYA again! here's the update! believe it or not but... I'M SICK! IT'S HORRENIBLE! AND I HATE IT! I won't let you guys catch it though ;) have fun! *in puss and boots voice* if you dare! :P
"How exactly are we supposed get home!" Ali whined at Elphaba, who was ignoring her, the girl had been whining about that for fifteen minutes "We are in a whole other world! And Me, Derek and Bonnie have to get to the theatre in five hours! My dress is torn-" she was interrupted by a very annoyed Elphaba
"Enough!" Elphaba snapped as she turned around to face Ali "Stop whining! and zip it!" Ali pulled a long face "Urgh! you remind me so much of Glinda!"
"Is that a good thing?" the actress asked innocently, Elphaba just grunted and kept walking down the yellow brick road. At the back of the group Lindsay and Raé were talking to each other "I mean when you touched that tree back there it covered in crystal!" Lindsay rambles
"I know! it was so weird! and nobody noticed!" Raé gushes back
"Actually. Me and Peach noticed" Nia corrects, hanging back with peach
Lindsay sighed"Right. Of course you did… so this means we all have powers in Oz or something- Where are we?" Lindsay asked looking around "This is not what I thought Oz would look like" Elphaba climbed up the side of a huge hill and shook her head in disgust "urgh… I think I know" Fiyero was the first one after her "Qaudlands… great" he sighed looking on the endless bog. "NO! MY SHOES S'IL GET RUINED!" Ali whined
Elphaba turned to the younger woman "Seriously? you're worrying about your shoes when we have to trudge against this, watch out for the fruen and try to find a way out of this endless bog! I mean look! the yellow brick road literally sinks in some parts!"
"Oh kay…" Derek frowns looking at his hand "Is anybody else getting powers?"
"Why?" Nia asked confused
"I've always had powers" Elphaba sighed
"I want powers!" Cecelia pouted
"Not yet" Ali chirped
"Um… yeah earlier actually" Raé said nervously
"Sure… maybe later" Peach shrugged
"Might be" Bonnie and Bunnii shouted as they fought each other to stand next to Elphaba
"Never in my life" Fiyero whined
"I dunno" Lindsay muttered
"Well… I just conjured up a bridge" Everyone looked at Derek in shock "What?"
"Wait when?!" Elphaba demanded
Maria sighed "Seriously,You know my friends are going to come right? " she declared a-matter-of-factly as she started fumbling with her the red sleeves on her pajama shirt to reveal a kitchen knife and started cutting the ropes on her chair.
"Shut up brat! You're even more worse than last time!" Morrible screeched before slamming her hands on her wooden table of potions and ingredients.
"Um… no… I'm just about the same" Maria retorted, yanking at the ropes
"Same fire as your mother…"
The green girl stopped what she was doing and gawked at the fish "What? Who's my mother?"
"No one important… if she was she wouldn't have died when I went after you all those years ago" Morrible lied smoothly
"I'm sorry I'm confused" Maria uttered in a vey dumbfounded way
Morrible sighed "Long story short. I went after you when you were a baby but your mother got in the way. There." Maria shot the old hag a dirty look from her side of the room in the chair. "monster… are the ropes really necessary?"
"Yes" Morrible answered with aggravation as she finished the potion "okay… do you want lethal or deadly?" No answer "Maria? Dearie it won't help-" Maria's chair was empty with the ropes pilled all around it. "Shiz"
Elphaba frowned in irritation, fingering a long scar on her neck that travelled down to her collar bone "Okay so I think you all are going to end up with powers… except Fiyero" the former prince snorted "anyway… I don't particularly know what type… Raé, you and Lindsay were rambling about what happened to that tree back there? What happened?" Raé shuffled her feet "Well… I was looking at it… when I touched the branches it sorta turned to crystal…"
Elphaba slammed her fist into her face "of course it did"
"Flower power!" Everyone looked at Ali suddenly annoyed "What?"
"Seriously? Als, not right now" Lindsay warned her. They kept walking… until Bonnie saw something in the grass "OH! SHINNY!" Bonnie yelled before running over to retrieve it, Ali frowned and put her hands on her hips "OI! Only I'm supposed to say tha- SHINNY!" Elphaba slapped her hand to her face again. "Look! It's some kinda bracelet!" Bonnie told then turning the gold object around in her hands "cool" she whispered breathlessly as she put it on "Bonnie that's not a- Great" Elphaba sighed again 'I'm surrounded by a bunch of idiots' she thought. Bonnie scrunched up her face in anger "What was that?" Elphaba looked at her like she was growing another head "I didn't say anything!"
"Yeah by you thought it!" Elphaba frowned and stared at the symbol on the bracelet "waait…" she turned Bonnie's wrist over and over again 'Um… okay… Bonnie?' Elphaba tested telepathically
"OH! TELEPATHY!" Everyone stared at Bonnie "THIS BRACELET GIVES ME POWERS TOO!"
"Then… GIVE IT!" Bunnii yelled 'Not in a million years' Bonnie echoed picking at her nails with her hand on her hip "So nature for a fourteen year old" Elphaba grumbled "You guys coming or not?" she yelled as she trudged off
"Little brat, she'll see what happens when she- thanks Jack" Morrible murmured as Jack stumbled in with an angered Maria in his arms "GET OFF ME!" She ordered as she kicked and thrusted like a child
"Put her in the cell… she won't escape then" Morrible seethed, Maria kept yelling insults and demands as she was carried to the dungeon of the tower. She was dumped on the cot she would now call a bed in a cell, the wide window barred close together to prevent any attempt at suicide. Jack leaned down next to her and chained her to the wall "I'm sorry" he uttered before leaving
"If you really are then you'll let me go" Maria mumbled under her breath, sitting up and yanking at her chains multiple times "Dangit…" Morrible came by her cell and grinned "Ah. The chains are working I see"
"What" Clanck "Do you mean" clang "Working?"
"Those chains where made to with stand your powers" Morrible sneered "I don't want you blasting out of here do I?"
"Yeah, and I don't want you standing there and staring at me do I? ClownFish" Maria spat. The 'Fish' snarled at the girl and trampled out of the dungeon. Maria sighed in relief before scanning her surroundings. The cell in front of her was rusting and the window was totally blocked off, leaving no light in the musty side of the dungeon and cloaking the lump of cloth in the center unidentifiable in the darkness. Maria slumped on to her cot "Great… I actually feel like Elsa… all I'm missing is my hair completely blonde and the dress" she heard a raspy laugh interrupted by a cough "okay…" she whispered breathlessly. Morrible stalked back into the dungeon about fifteen minutes later and opened her mouth about to say something but Maria interrupted again "Are you going to make up your mind? Talk or don't talk, stay up there or stay down here. It's easy"
"Shut up! Will you? Jack! Bring the brat upstairs!"
"What are you going to do? interrogate me? torture me?" Maria asked
"Yea- no! Stop it!" Morrible commanded
"Stop what?" Maria questioned innocently
The Madame gestured to Maria "That! Whatever your doing! Dang, Elphaba was never this annoying…"
"what do you mean-" Maria didn't need to finish to realize that Elphaba had been imprisoned here before as well. The burnt walls and vile smelling floor said it all.
Elphaba jerked at the chains again while Morrible cackled a raspy, cold hearted cackle "You won't get away like that... not until you give it up" Elphaba snarled as the old woman attempted to touch her swollen abdomen "stay away from us! cod fish!" Elphaba barked jolting away from her. "Don't move so fast... you'll make yourself sick... or even hurt the baby" Elphaba lifted her head and glared at Morrible.
Lindsay sighed as Peach and Nia started bickering again
"YOU STOLE MY CHOCOLATE BROWNIE?!" Nia screamed at her sister
"YEAH WHAT OF IT?!" the sixteen year old yelled back
"does it really matter now?" Raé groaned
"YES!" Her sisters yelled, all three of them ended up bickering. The other two siblings were bickering as well along with Derek, Ali, Cecelia, Fiyero and Elphaba who where in a group if fussing Young adults/adults while Lindsay stood there "Guys? Guys? Seriously? GUYS?!" Her voice was barely audible even as she yelled in her last defying gravity note. "GUYS!" she finally howled getting their attention "are we going to save Maria or not?" everyone just stared at the actress
"Lindsay… um… look" Derek told her, pointing at her shoes. Lindsay looked down to see ice covering a little space around her, frost flowering over her fingers "Oh… great… now are we going or are we going to stand here all year?" Ali rolled her eyes and grabbed her co-star, skipping down the bridge. Nia sighed as they made their way to a vinkun forest "When are we going to get powers?"
Peach shrugged "I actually don't want any endless we get to keep them"
"If you guys get powers then that means you have always had them, it's just that in your world magick is harder to come by never mind use if you don't know how to do it" Elphaba explained to them as Fiyero sprinted by them with a basket ball, Derek on hot on his heels. "So does that mean we keep them?" Peach asked hopefully
"yeah" Elphaba replied as if she was bored
"YES!" Peach exclaimed, fist pumping and tackling the ball from Fiyero just to run off with it. Elphaba's lips curled into an amused smile "She's pretty good at basket ball"
"Meh… we all play a couple rounds at school" Nia confessed as Bunnii joined in passing the ball back to Fiyero "Up High!" Nia called immediately receiving the ball only to have it torn away from her by Raé, high tailed by Bonnie and Ali "HEY!" The brunette shrieked before going after the ball. Elphaba slowed down to walk with Lindsay, the shouts of the teenagers and young adults/adults in the distance such as "That's my ball!" or "Give it here!" Lindsay laughed "They really get into it don't they?"
"Uh hu…" Fiyero ran into a tree with the ball and fell to the ground cupping his nose "Ooo… hope Yero's alright after that"
"he'll be fine… I think that slap that Bunnii gave him the other day was worse" Elphaba laughed at the remark "What are we going to do when we fix all this?" Lindsay wondered as Derek was tackled by all the girls at once, Elphaba winced "I don't know… we'll probably have to limit the ball sports… we should go and help them out"
"yeah okay" Lindsay muttered wide eyed as the girls started to team up on the boys. Elphaba and Lindsay started prying the girls off the two boys, yelling and grabbing at the girls and throwing the basket ball off the bridge.
Maria coughed a hard, raspy cough as she rolled on to her back "Morrible you won't break me" she chokes out of her dry throat, the woman towering above her rolled her eyes "um… I will and you know that" Maria laughed like it was a joke "And exactly how many spells are you going to use to break me?" Morrible glared at her "As many as it takes" Maria snorted before weakly pushing herself up in an attempt to run out of the door. "Now, now dearie. Stay!" Morrible sneers as she strikes her hostage with yet another spell. Jack winced as Maria fell to the ground again "That's the fifteenth spell in five minutes… I think Maria has the upper hand"
"Hush!" Morrible yelled, waving her hand I front of her adopted son's face as she yelled "We don't need her to be encouraged…" Checking the sun in the sky Morrible's face darkened "Take her back in… it's twelve PM"
"And?"
"It was one AM when we got out here!"
"Okay, okay!" Jack shouted back at the angered woman, grabbing Maria bridal style. Maria grunts when he bounces her to get a better grip, they trudge back inside the giant oak doors and disappear back into the musty pitch black. "Jack, how do you put up with her?" Maria asked, her eyes barely open; one of the many results of how tired and weak she was. Jack shrugged "I don't know… sometimes I think the only thing that keeps me sane is that I know you" Maria frowns "How so?"
"Well… you… you aren't as dark as Morrible is… and..." Jack replies, struggling with his explanation. Maria cackles, a new laugh she had inherited a couple months ago around her twenty first birthday, "I don't think I'll ever be" she jokes. As Jack descends the staircase Maria hits her head on a rotten wooden beam that held up a lamp that had recently been put up by Jack "Shiz, ma bad"
"You think? God, now I've had both a concision and a bad beat down!" Maria snapped at him. Jack softly laid her down on the cot again, chaining her to the wall again "get some sleep… you'll need it" Maria nodded and watched him go before sobbing. She was scared. Even if she didn't admit it, Morrible bound her powers therefore making her as helpless as a human hostage. She felt like shiz. She wanted to cry her heart out. She tugged at the chains again even though it was futile. She tired her self out before slumping to the ground in the center of the cell, noticing the freshly bleeding cuts and bruises all over her arms, legs, down her exposed back and across her face in a puddle filled by a leakage of water in the ceiling. Looking to the other cell she noticed the window open as well. And blocking the moonlight from the window was the last thing she wanted to see right now.
"Wizard? What are you doing down here?"
