A/N: I am the worst updater ever! I am so sorry about that, especially with university acceptances being looked at. Thank you for your reviews and patience, I am very grateful. I got my acceptance so now I will hopefully be updating a lot more

Where we last left off…

"GRAMPY! DADDY! Uncle Yashy has a lady friend." The two could hear Rykou saying to two unknown figures.

Kagome and Inuyasha looked up and saw them standing there.

"Hello Inuyasha."

Kagome turned around and her mouth almost dropped in the resemblance. Two other men stood behind her and she could swear she was looking at the older version of Inuyasha. Though he was half human, he had a strikingly close resemblance to Inutaisho.

"Hey dad,"

Inuyasha looked at his father, he wore a look of confusion, which led Inuyasha to be confused as well. Coming down the stairs, Inutaisho didn't say a word. His footsteps were sharp and Kagome took a sharp breath in, there was something about him which led her to feel nervous. Maybe it was the fact that he was Inuyasha's father or maybe he was just generally intimidating.

"Hello, I'm Inuyasha's father and I don't think we have met before."

Kagome's mouth almost dropped. He spoke like Inuyasha as well. Inuyasha glanced at his father, something was off about his behaviour. Something he couldn't put his finger on.

"Please sit, Inuyasha you never told me that your friend was so charming."

Kagome glanced at Inuyasha as her face was turning pink, taking a seat slowly she looked at the Takahashi clan which surrounded her.

"Brother, why was I unaware of you having a special lady friend?"

Kagome looked up and saw who she presumed to be Rykou's father. The man was tall, and beside Rin now. He looked from Kagome to Inuyasha waiting to be answered.

"That's cause every time I call and want to talk, you avoid me."

Inuyasha glanced at his brother and saw that he was still staring at the two of them; his arm protectively went around Kagome, pulling her into his side. They fit perfectly into each other, like two puzzle pieces linked.

Rin smiled, touching Sesshomaru's arm and he sighed; a sign of relaxation yet the demon's eyes never left his brother and his girlfriend. Everyone sat down and Inuyasha looked into his brother's eyes. Trying to read any thought or emotion he had.

"So, Kagome was it? How long has this little fling been going on..?" Inutaisho asked. Kagome felt her heart beat pick up oncemore. When he had introduced himself Inutaisho had sounded quite friendly, yet when speaking he came off unsettled with their relationship.

Kagome took a breath and looked the alpha demon in the eye, she knew if she could stand her ground then she would gain their respect and hopefully even get them to like her.

"Inuyasha and I, our relation—"

"Dad, just forget it. Stop asking her about us, if you have any questions ask me." The half demon stared directly in his father's eye, un-amused with the tone he used with Kagome.

"Son, if you had told me earlier about the relationship I wouldn't need to ask for information from your wench."

Kagome felt her cheeks burn, she could believe the language the great Inutaisho used when referring to her.

"DAD! I won't stand for you to speak like this, whatever problem you have. Talk to me; leave her out of this."

Inuyasha stood from his seat, causing Kagome to get slightly off balance. She stood behind him, feeling the anger he emitted.

"Inuyasha Takahashi, sit down this instance and speak to your father with some respect." Izayoi spoke from the top of the stairs.

All eyes turned to Lady Izayoi standing on the stairs walking down to see her son.

"Mom you didn't hear him he was going off for no reason."

Izayoi rolled her eyes at her son and his huffy tone, she looked at the young woman behind him.

"OH, ISN"T SHE JUST PRECIOUS!"

Izayoi went around Inuyasha and pulled the young girl up, taking in her appearance and her rather startled face.

"Oh dear, don't mind my husband and my son. They tend to get heated and fight with each other with no substance."

Kagome smiled.

She doesn't seem that bad. Hopefully she likes me, cause the way Inutaisho was talking he clearly has a problem with this relationship. Sorry fling. How could he call what me and Inuyasha have a fling? His feelings for me run so deep and what we felt it isn't small.

"Dear you seem tired, Inuyasha you and Sesshomaru go fetch the bags from the car and Rin will show Kagome to her room."

Smiling at the woman she followed the young wife, and her skipping son.

"Oh Kagome, I'm sorry you heard and got in between that argument."

Kagome looked at the young woman. She had nothing to apologise for yet she was so sincere and so innocent with her apology.

"It's okay Rin, Inuyasha himself is a bit of a hot head and your father in law he just hasn't warmed up to me yet."

The two of them stopped to a red painted door.

"This is Inuyasha's room, I'm sure he will want you to be with him for a bit then you can go to the guest room."

Rin touched the girls shoulder, and along with her son went downstairs. Kagome opened the red door and her mouth dropped.

The room was nicely furnished. The walls were a rich red colour, the same as the door. He had a large bed sitting in the middle with white sheets on, not a wrinkle in sight. In the corner sat a black leather recliner and a huge tv faced opposite the bed. She could see a door slightly open showing a bathroom and another which would be his closet.

Walking over to the bed, she looked at the side table he had, sitting there was a novel. Beside that were frames of his friends. Sango, Miroku, Koga and Ayame all laughing. She frowned picking it up not seeing herself. This must have been when Inuyasha was unaware of his feelings for me. Sitting down she picked up the book and flipped through it. A photo slipped out and drifted to the floor. Leaning down Kagome picked it up and flipped it over shocked at what she saw. It was a picture of her at the beach. It was the first time they went on a trip all together. They were at the beach and her hair was blowing in her face. She was laughing at something someone had said and never realised that Inuyasha had taken this photo of her. It had been over a year since he visited.

He kept this photo this whole time… I can't believe I was so oblivious to this all.

Kagome's neck began to tingle and she could feel her face and body begin to overheat.

FLASHBACK TO THE BEACH (GRADE TEN)

Kagome, Sango, Inuyasha and Miroku were heading down to the beach and the music was blasting from the car. Reaching the beach the girls rushed out of the car and ran down to find a perfect spot. Finding a spot where the sun shined they led the boys to set up the blanket and umbrella. Sango pulled off her shorts and her tee to show off her light blue bikini. Kagome set her onto a lounge chair and pulled out her book.

Inuyasha wore a black tank and a pair of red swim trunks, his well toned body perfectly glistened in the sun. Miroku had a nice purple top and a pair of purple trunks on, throwing it off quickly ready to go for a dip. All three rushed into the water and Kagome smiled continuing to read her book.

By the afternoon she had shed off her sundress and her dancer figure was becoming ogled by the men at the beach. Her perfectly toned legs and flat stomach was much appreciated look to those walking by. Her black swimsuit was a full piece, with a little diamond cut out right at the belly button showing off her belly button piercing. The sides had two giant slits allowing her skin to have much breathing room and to show off her figure.

Returning back to the rest spot Inuyasha did a onceover and stood in front of her.

"Hey Kaggy. Let's go take a dip in the water hmm."

Removing her sunglasses she looked at him, his body had the water dripping down his chiseled chest. The sun touching his hair and made the half demon look like a god. She smiled at his request but didn't fail to notice the smirk he had on his face.

"I'm fine here Inuyasha with my beloved Darcy." She held the book to her chest and smiled at him watching his smile slowly begin to go away.

"The waters perfect." He stated huffing his wet bangs out of his face, shaking off like a wet dog Kagome squealed.

"INUYASHA!"

Smiling he grabbed her legs and flipped her onto his shoulders. Running to the water he threw her in, the lakes waves causing her to shiver.

Glaring at him she stood up and turned her back. Inuyasha approached the anger girl with caution and touched her shoulder.

"Kags?" he asked, barely audible.

The young girl turned around splashing him with the water laughing at his reaction. Miroku and Sango a little deeper into the water took in the two and smiled to each other. Sango nodded her head, and Miroku dove down, grabbing them both by the ankle and pulling them onto their butts.

Laughing the teens staying in the water for quite a while, till the wind picked up and both girls began to chill. Rushing back to their blanket, Kagome and Sango went to change while Inuyasha and Miroku decided to go buy some food. Coming back Sango cornered Kagome and led her to the side where the boys couldn't see them.

"Miss Kagome, I think you have some slight explaining to do. I thought you were just friends." Sango stood with her hand on her hip and looked at the girl in front of her.

"We are Sango. We are just friends, and maybe one day we could be something more."

Kagome turned back and walked away back to the picnic area.

At the end of the day the group was cleaning up, Miroku and Sango walking ahead enjoying whatever they were talking about and Inuyasha playing with his phone. Kagome walked ahead silently, hoping the hanyou would be the first to break the silence, when Miroku ran back toward them.

"Hey you two! You guys are pretty quiet back here. What's going on my friends." Inuyasha raised his eyebrows and Kagome followed suit.

"You both know how much I love to spend time with you right?" Miroku went behind the two and put his arm around both their shoulders.

"KAGOME! INUYASHA! You better not be protecting that lecher."

Inuyasha rolled his eyes and slipped out from Miroku's grasp.

"You can't help yourself can you? Today was a peaceful day and you still groped her?" Inuyasha let an exasperated sigh slip from him.

Miroku let out a cheeky grin and put both his hands behind his head. Walking ahead of the two now he turned back to face them.

"That led to my day being perfe"

He was cut off with his foot getting stuck in a hole, leading to him falling over. Sango and Kagome both looked at each other and laughed till they couldn't breathe anymore. Kagome heard a clicking sound and looked at Inuyasha with a confused look.

"Nothing wench. Mind your own business."

That's when Kagome realised he was back to being his gruff old self.

END OF FLASHBACK

Kagome sighed, those times were so confusing. Inuyasha guarded his heart and his feelings so well that she could never tell when he was being genuine or whether he was just happy. That clicking sound made sense now. Inuyasha must have taken a picture of her then.

Putting it back into the book she walked over to window and stared at the large backyard. There was a large pool attached to a Jacuzzi and a small kiddie pool as well linked in. The perfect area for the family to swim and enjoy a nice hot day together.

Kagome felt a light kiss on her shoulder blade and turned around to see Inuyasha smiling at her.

"Hi." He grinned, using a claw to move a piece of hair away from her face.

"Hi" she repeated barely getting the word out. Her stomach was filling with butterflies. Her whole body tingled with the half demons presence.

"We need to talk."

Inuyasha looked at the sleeping figure, using a claw to run over her angelic body.

"I'm sorry" he whispered and leaped from the room. Leaving the young girl laying there all alone once again.
