Three days later in Mrs. Lorrens class and ten minutes before the tardy bell, Raven sat in her desk scribbling something down to hand in. Leaning back, observing what she had written down, she decided it wasn't such a completely stupid question and stood up to turn it in. Huh. Raven thought as she noticed Sarah was not in her desk. She must still be in her room trying to fix her hair. The night before the girls had taken one last dip in the pool before classes began again for the week. The chlorine had done some damage on both of them and Sarah wanted to make sure her hair wasn't 'dead'.

Raven slipped her paper in the tray and turned to catch Sarah dart through the door.

"Hey, you made it." greeted Raven.

"Yeah, barely" Sarah rushed past her and pretty much shoved her paper in just before the bell rang.

"Soo, is your hair still with us?" Raven teased.

Sarah responded by sticking out her tongue. "I took one of those nutrient packets you recommended and it did wonders over night."

"Told you."

"Okay people, in your desks." Mrs. Lorren ordered loudly walking in, pushing her glasses back up her nose. "Has everybody turned in their questions?"

The class nodded and of course as always some blushed a pretty shade of pink.

'You're gonna read them, aren't you..?" Raven emotionlessly blurted.

Mrs. Lorren took the papers from the tray and swung around to face the class. With a huge smirk she answered, "…Of course."

The girls exchanged giggles and whispers as Mrs. Lorren plucked off a paper from somewhere in the middle of the stack. Thank God, that meant it wasn't Raven or Sarahs question.

Mrs. Lorren cleared her throat dramatically. "The first question…Will the Xenomorphs male member be too much to handle and will it hurt..?"

The class burst out laughing hysterically. Mrs. Lorren stared blankly at the girls and clucked her tongue. "Oh grow up." she rolled her eyes.

Raven herself rolled her eyes but ended up grinning from ear to ear.

"No," Mrs. Lorren finally began to answer the question after taking several minutes for the girls to settle down. "Honestly, it'll be more than you're used to, but it will be perfectly fine and it will not hurt."

"So basically, it's like doing it with a black guy for the first time.." blurted a middle aged woman from the back of the room. The class of course erupted into laughter again.

"Well," Raven exclaimed as she stumbled out of the classroom some really long forty-five minutes later. "That was the longest class we've ever had."

Sarah just laughed and shrugged. "Hey, at least it was incredibly entertaining."

"I gonna go take a nap before physics."

"Wait, no." whined Sarah "I wanted to go to lunch, I don't want to go alone."

"Ugh…" Raven leaned against the wall and laid her head back. She raised an eyebrow.

"Can I play my music?"

"As loud as you want." Sarah beamed.

"Fine, lets go." she motioned with her hand.

Once in the dining, the girls got their meals and made a beeline straight for their table in the back, waving and smiling to other friends on the way.

"So, how long have we been here exactly?" asked Raven as they sat down.

"Ummm…four…five weeks, I think." Sarah took a large bite of her fruit salad and began to tie her hair into a ponytail. "Why?" she asked still chewing.

"I don't know.." Raven shrugged. "Just counting down the days until we can get out of this place and be back home…where everything's normal." her voice trailed off.

Sarah gulped down her bite and faced herself directly at her best friend. "Rave, c'mon. We have to do this, there is no other option. Our government demands it as mandatory. The best thing for us to do is just to take it in stride. We'll just do our time and when it's over we are the ones who decide what happens. They have gourmet food here, hot tubs, spas, pools, tennis courts, nail salons, anything you could possibly imagine to pamper ourselves."

Raven didn't really want to listen to her friend. She wanted desperately to go home. Her warm and welcoming home. Everything here was so clean, organized, resembling a hospital. But one thing she couldn't deny…couldn't deny herself was the right to her mate. This whole time she had kept telling herself she just needed to get through it and then she could go home. But once she had encountered him, things had changed. Now she had to give him a chance. Give herself a chance. Hell, if anything, she deserved this.

"Look," began Raven "I'm just…having trouble here. It's hard, I miss home and this place is just so damn…sterile. I guess I just have a bad case of homesickness." she looked Sarah straight in the eyes. "I am determined to give this thing a chance…" grinning, she laughed "No matter how crazy or insane it gets.."

With relief, Sarah nodded. "Good. And I know it's hard. I think it's that way for pretty much everyone." Taking another bite of her food, she smiled "Remember, we're going through this together." Raven smiled back and nodded.

Some short minutes later, the microphone at the front of the hall came to life with static. Mrs. Lorren cleared her throat to address the room. "Um, hi ladies" Mrs. Lorren looked beautiful. Apparently that baby glow was working for her. "As you may recall, you all received a letter regarding the date and place you were to be introduced to your mate…The letter mentioned that the event would be subject to change and…well the event has changed. It takes place two days from now as the resident hive is to take a little trip to the surrounding hives…um, yeah well I guess that's it. You will receive another newsletter tomorrow. If you have any questions you may ask at the office or ask me when we have class. That's it for now…"

Mrs. Lorren had not even stepped off the small platform before the whole dining hall exploded into chatter.

Raven held a blank expression. "They just had to do this, didn't they." she muttered.

Sarah gave an apologetic half smile and patted Raven on the shoulder.
