Jack's POV
After Kim threatened to feed me to the sharks- I swear that chick is crazy- I left for my house that is located on Mulberry Avenue which was a few blocks away from where I was now. I live in a big white house, with marble steps that seem to go on forever, that lead to a front porch with a swing in the corner. It has a backyard the size of a football field, with an in the ground pool and a garden with flowers all around, that my mom works on during her free time. As I was walking to my house, or mansion as my friends would call it, it started raining. Hard. Just my Luck! It has to start POURING RAINING WHILE I'M WALKING HOME! How FRICKEN NICE! I had to make a run for it just to not get soaked with rain water. As I was passing Huckleberry Street, I realized I had only one block to go. Yes! All those years of Track Team, DON'T FAIL ME NOW!

I finally got home and I looked at the clock. It read 7:50. Ten minutes to spare before my parents were on my case. I had a sudden urge to text Kim. I don't know why, but I just did. I decided it wasn't too late, and grabbed my phone and the piece of paper with her number on it. I thought about calling her Kimmy, then remembered her earlier threat. I shivered. I decided against it, after all I did want to see daylight again, and Kim. Whoa! Where the hell did that come from?! I mentally scolded myself. I looked at the clock and realized it was already 8:30, and that I've been thinking about Kim for forty minutes now. Huh, I've been thinking about a girl that I just met a little over two hours ago, for forty minutes. Ok, I think I may need to go to a shrink, or a psychiatric hospital.

Well, I might as well text her before it gets late. I thought.
I type: "Hey, so wanna discuss the plan," silently hoping she'd say yes.
It didn't take long for her reply of: "Sure, thought u'd never ask ;)" that sent me into overdrive, and I was grinning like CRAZY! Again, I had NO FRICKEN CLUE WHY! There was one thing I did know: I had to know what she meant by that. Was she teasing me? Did she mean it? Did she want me to text her? How was I supposed to find out? I couldn't exactly say, "Hey, when u said 'thought u'd never ask', did it mean anything or no?" to a girl I just met! Heck! You couldn't say that to a girl that you've known forever! It would just be weird.
I realized that she must've been waiting for my reply, and I quickly got to it. What the hell is wrong with me?! I'm going crazy over some random girl I just met! I thought to myself.
I replied to her text saying, "So, what exactly do u want me to do?"
Her reply was, "Well, first lemme tell u a little about my ex-boyfriend."
I said, "Ok, shoot."
A minute later, she texted back saying, "Hold up, can I call you 'cuz it's a LONG story?"
I got this funny feeling inside me when she asked that. I said, "Sure, y not?"
She replied, "Great, I'm calling u now :)"
GREAT! THERE SHE GOES WITH THE EMOJIS AGAIN! I thought to myself as that feeling from before came back.
Pretty soon, I realized my phone was ringing like crazy. I picked it up and answered, "Hello?"
"Hey, it's Kim," was the reply.
I said, "Alright, so lay it on me".
Kim started her story, "Well, I started dating Brendon a few months ago. Our parents are both in business and they had decided to merge their companies into one. My dad set up this whole business dinner and everything, to woo over Brendon's parents to make sure the merge happened. That's where I met Brendon. He was at the dinner with his parents, just like I was with mine. At first, we didn't get off to a good start. As soon as he walked through the door and laid his eyes on me, he was such a HUGE flirt! Of course, I ignored him, but as the evening continued, he became…tolerable. I took an unusual liking to him and our fathers actually proposed the idea of us dating as a way for their companies to merge. Now, usually I would be opposed to that idea; of my father setting me up for a business deal. However, since I actually liked Brendon and he liked me, we went along with it."
She paused; she seemed out of breath, she was talking so fast.
"Wow, that really was a long story" I said to Kim.
She answered, "Oh honey, I'm just getting started. Ok, as I was saying, we started going out and it was pretty good for a while. He was really sweet and acted like the best boyfriend ever." Her voice seemed to hold an emotion that I didn't think was possible for Kim to have: sadness.
I cleared my throat and asked, "So, if he was the best boyfriend ever, why did you two break up?"
She sighed and replied, "Well, like I said he acted like the best boyfriend ever, and I found out it was just that. An act. He would constantly get moody and upset if I answered his texts late, he would complain a lot, but the worst thing of all was that he believed some stupid rumor about me not being into our relationship anymore, instead of believing me when I said I was. Brendon was being such a HYPOCRITE that day we broke up. He was yelling at me because of the rumor, and he heard that I had cheated on him. That's how the rumor started. Apparently, "I wasn't into my relationship with Brendon anymore, so I went out and cheated on him and acted like a s***!"" I could hear the sadness in her voice fade, as it was replaced with anger and rage.
"Ok Kim, calm down, take a deep breath and don't let yourself get worked up over this a**w***." I tried to calm her down. I don't know what it was, but I hated this guy already.
But what Kim said next really made me hate this guy and want to punch the living daylights out of him. "You're right Jack, I shouldn't get so worked up over some cheating son of a b*** like Brendon." I was shocked and most definitely livid! How could that punk do that to Kim?! She's such a great girl, she doesn't deserve that! Oh boy! There I go again! Ugggh! Just get your head back in the conversation, Jack! I mentally scolded myself.
I forced myself to speak, "Wait a minute…..HE CHEATED ON YOU?!" Woah, that came out louder than I expected! Great going Jack! She probably thinks you're insane now!
Kim said slowly, "Um…yea, he did; hence the hypocrite part. He yelled at me for cheating, when it was really him who did the cheating. And Jack, are you okay?"
I sighed, "Yea sorry, I just…I don't know. You deserve better than that." I waited nervously for her reply, wondering if I just freaked her out or not.
"Oh, thank you. I just wish Brendon realized that too, but thank you," came her reply a few seconds later.
"No problem, Kim. You do seem like a great girl and he was a jerk to you," I confessed to her.
Kim stuttered over the phone, "T-thank you-u again. I mean it, Jack, thanks."
I could almost hear the smile in her voice, and I was happy I was the reason it was there, but I decided to mess with her. "You're welcome…..Kimmy!"
I started laughing as she yelled at me over the phone, "Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! I told you if you EVER called me that again, I would feed you to the sharks!"
I probably should've said something, BUT I just kept laughing to p*** her off.
"Ugggggghhhhh! Why am I even wasting my time with you?!" Kim yelled at me.
I stopped laughing, "Alright, alright. You have my undivided attention. Is there anything else I need to know?"
Kim answered, "Well, there are two other things…." She seemed hesitant to tell me, but I prodded for information anyway.
"Just tell me what they are Kim," I told her.
"Ok, well 1) I kinda told my friends that you were my boyfriend before Brendon, and you called me and asked if we could get back together, which was conveniently after I broke up with Brendon, so you're gonna have to act as if we've been together before, and you wanted me back" she rambled on, "and 2) All my friends want to meet you at this BBQ that my friend Kelsey is throwing at her house, and since they're bringing their boyfriends, I have to bring mine."
Huh, oh this should be interesting, I thought. "Well, since I'm going to be your fake boyfriend, I guess it would've happened sooner or later. Just give me a time, date and place and I'll be there," I said to Kim.
"Really? Oh! Thanks so much Jack! You're a life saver! But if you ever tell anyone I said that, I will make good on my threat, do I make myself clear?" she asked me.
I shivered and gulped, "Crystal." I replied.
"Alright, then it looks like we won't have a problem, Mr.?" She said, indicating she wanted my last name.
I answered in my cool, smooth, suave voice, "Brewer, Jack Brewer. And do you, my lovely girlfriend, have a last name as well, or do I just call u, Mrs. Jack Brewer?" I chuckled, wondering what kind of threat that was going to get.
"Apparently, it appears I've spoken to soon. Maybe we will have a problem, Mr. Brewer. Don't you dare forget my threat! And FYI, it's Kim Crawford, not Mrs. Brewer. That'll definitely not be my name…...ever!" I laughed even harder at how frustrated I was making her.
"Well, is that everything I need to know then, Ms. Crawford?"
I heard her sigh, "Just know, that the pool party is this Saturday at 12:00, and the address is 3390 Huckleberry Avenue, and that's it."
"Alright then, goodnight Mrs. Brew-I mean Ms. Crawford." I was holding back my laughter, as I messed with her again. Man, I love doing that!
"Goodnight Jack," she said sharply, and hung up.
I put my phone down, and looked at the clock. It read: 11:23. Wow, I had been talking to Kim for almost three hours. I laid back on my bed and thought of everything she told me, especially about how Brendon cheated on her and about meeting her friends this Saturday. Boy, was this going to be one hell of a ride!
A/N: Hey guys, KimBrewer4Life here! First off, I would like to say that we are so so so sorry for not updating for about a year. We have been really busy and last summer my computer had broken down, and chapter 2 was on there, so that was a setback for us, as well as everything DramaQueen478 has told you. As of now, we are back and we are planning on finishing this story. I know how frustrated and upset I get when a story I am reading becomes unfinished, and I will not be doing that to you guys. Secondly, I would like to thank you all for the wonderful reviews we have been getting and for all the patience you have had with us. Thirdly, I am so glad you are enjoying our story so far and I am glad to see that there are still some of you who are sticking with us and our story. Thank you, it means a lot to both me and DramaQueen478. Lastly, since we have been away for so long, we have made this chapter extra long and hopefully better than the first. This is our gift to all of you for all your patience and wonderful reviews. Thanks again! :) We hope you enjoyed this chapter!
