"Why do we need to watch them though?" Thorne asked.

"I have some...spying to do." Shaiden told him.

Later that night when Shaiden was doing her spying was when she was caught. The attackers had found her and put her with Abby therefore, she was trapped. Just wait until Thorne finds out.

"So..." The defenders sat and watched as the younger ninjas stared back at them.

"Who's hungry?" Vane asked while grinning and looking at everyones faces. Zoe groaned and began instructing. It was amusing to Thorne and Skabb at the amount she was like Shaiden.

"We need order here people. Not food. All we need is a few bedrooms and some peace and quiet. We don't bother you, you don't bother us." She ordered.

"Yeah...no. That's not how it works." Kook explained. "You see, Shaiden, she's kinda scary whens she's mad. I definitely don't want to face that wrath." Kook spoke to the young girls like they were 4.

"Ugh! Whatever! This is why I hate men!" Zoe stamped her foot turned and walked out while Faetal and Madeva didn't even try to cover their laughter.

"So how long will they be here?" Vane asked after a long time. The girls had gone up to bed much longer before, mainly because it was already midnight.

"Too long." Said Thorne. He was tired, scratched up,and worried. He had a strange feeling that something was off. He thought of how strange it had been to see his sister after so long. His thoughts were interrupted by the TV in the commons room starting up. On the screen was a young girl of maybe 11 all chained up with a gag in her mouth. The shot widened to a girl that was looking at the ground. As she looked up Thorne's heart sunk. On the screen was Shaiden.

"Ugh if you're going to keep me captured the least you can do is stop monologuing!" Shaiden groaned as the captor went on with his speech for the castle's destruction.

"...they will either come to your rescue and I will have all the defenders or they will leave you here and forget about you just like they did at the castle and you can be my queen." That struck a nerve for Shaiden.

"SHUT UP!" She finally exploded. "First you attack my friends and family, then you kidnap one of my ninjas, then you kidnapped me, and now you have the audacity to tell me that my family would 1. Abandon me and me. Now you think that I would agree to be your queen?" She said queen like it was a disgusting word that repulsed her.

"How dare you!? I was going to refrain from making you drink a potion I had made but since you decided to get sassy..." Shaiden couldn't help but smirk at the thought of Gildar. It had been a year since the nine had been together as a team and the six that left all went their separate ways...for the most part. It was no secret to Shaiden that Gildar lived in Scotland but it was a secret to Ballista. Gildar lived a good half hour away from her so she was oblivious to his presence. Crocness and Thorne had managed to keep up a long distance relationship and naturally that made Shaiden very happy because Croc was her best friend and if Crocness and Thorne got married one day they would technically be sisters. Knightriss used her year in horse training while Tinkor helped at a technical college. Shaiden didn't hear much from those two anymore. Shaiden had spent her year traveling across America and Canada searching for enemies and recruiting other ninjas to join her hunt. She often thought about her old life and missed every member of it. Especially her brother and Kook. For the first month or two they texted and called her but then the attackers became more frequent and they were too busy to call her. Shaiden's thoughts were interrupted by "The General" coming back to her with a cup of a red potion in his hands.

"...And you didn't wake us up?!" Zoe screeched that early morning. Thorne had explained the video to her when they woke up that morning.

"You being tired would help us in no way!" Thorne argued back.

"I would've still liked to know." Zoe rolled her eyes as the rest of the ninjas woke up.

"Well good morning to all of you.I hope you slept well because we will not be for a little while. Shaiden was captured by Public Enemy #3."Maddie's eyes grew huge.

"Not her too!" The youngest ninja whispered before giving a strange look. "We're about to get another message." No sooner had Maddie said that the screens turned on again. This time it was just Shaiden on the screen and she was still bound but she was no longer gagged. Thorne noticed that she had a light red mustache that was almost unnoticeable. Almost. She had a new air about her that Thorne had seen before. She was mad but she was hurt. Not really too physically hurt albeit some bruises and scratches from an obvious struggle but she was mentally different than usual.

"Well, look who it is. I haven't seen you for... how long has it been? Let's see, there was the castle, the giant cat, and oh, that's right! You left me to get kidnapped. Now you probably don't remember it that way, but who cares? You just need to worry about the precious new defenders. I don't care if you come to get me or not, but if you do, hurry up. Clock's ticking." Shaiden was not acting like herself at first. After her speech she coughed a few times and her eyes seemed a little less cloudy and she seemed more like herself. "If you are coming, bring a team. You'll need one. Sorry for what I said. He made me drink a potion that made me say that. I have to go now but just remember-" The video cut off and everyone looked around at each other.

"CLIFFHANGER!" Kook suddenly said while smirking clearly trying to break the silence. But even though he was hiding behind his humor Thorne could tell Kook was worried.

"I have an idea for the team. I'll have to make some calls though." Skabb spoke for the first time in what seemed like eternity. And what a team it became.

A few hours later a team was formed. It contained 7 members. Thorne, Kook, Maddie, and Zoe looked at the rest of their team. They all knew them in some way yet no one expected them to be called. The other three members were Crocness, Gildar, and Ballista. The rest of the ninjas and the six remaining defenders including Knightriss and Tinkor, who had been called to make sure they had enough defenders to fight against any attackers that were coming to the castle, were ready to fight.

Shaiden felt sick to her stomach as she sat for longer and longer. The potion that had been forced into her had not agreed with her at all and that was because she tried to fight it. She felt very hot and dizzy. She felt her eyes close but she felt too weak to open them. In the darkness she heard talking from someone standing above her. Her guess was that it was the General but he was talking to someone.

"Aww she's feeling the effects of the second part of my potion that'll leave her too weak to fight back." The General spoke to the mysterious presence beside him.

"Or perhaps what she feels is the sting of betrayal."The voice made Shaiden's blood run cold. It was the voice of her own student. Abby was fighting for the enemy.

A/N Per request I have updated this story. This is one of my longest chapters yet. Since it is Summer vacation I plan to update a lot more. I have an idea request for Blue Christmas because I have no idea where to take that story. I also have an answer to my question: "Why is a raven like a writing desk?"
