I almost didn't get this done today! Then I sat down and wrote until I finished it! So here you go:
The ninja used Spinjitzu and knocked down a few snakes. Lucas and Zoey stayed back for a moment. "I'm helping," Lucas decided.
"Luke you can't..."
"I'll be fine, Zoe," Lucas assured her. He ran towards a group of skeletons that surrounded Kai and Jay. "Ninja-Go!" he yelled, spinning into a dark teal vortex with light streaks. The skeletons were knocked down and Lucas came out of his Spinjitzu vortex.
"Nice," Jay complimented. "But can you do this? Ninja-Go!" He spun into his vortex and sucked up a few skeletons. They flew out of the vortex and Jay came out with his arms crossed.
"Yeah, well I'm still a bit rusty," Lucas said. "But like my uncle use to say, there's nothing like bone to sharpen its edge." He spun into his vortex and took down a whole line of skeletons.
A couple skeletons walked up behind Lucas. Alex saw and rushed to his age, knocking them down with her swords. "You're welcome," she said.
Lucas turned to her and scratched the back of his head. "Being saved by my little sister. That's a bit embarrassing," he mumbled.
"Not if I'm the better fighter," Alex smirked. "A lot changes in fourteen years."
Lucas whistled. "Fourteen years? It's been that long?"
"Can you two focus?" Cole asked.
Suddenly there was a scream. Everyone froze, even the skeletons. "Zoe!" Lucas shouted. There was a skeleton holding Zoey by her throat.
"Luke," Zoey choked out.
"Leave now, leave the boy and girl, and we won't have to do anything drastic," the skeleton warned.
"No," Alex said sternly, before the others could react. "I came to get my brother and no one is getting left behind."
'Alex,' Lucas interrupted. 'I understand how stubborn you can be...'
'Like you're one to talk...'
'But you need to trust me. I have a plan,' Lucas finished.
'Is it so crazy it just might work?' Alex asked silently.
'Aren't all my plans?'
'Okay, I'm in.'
'First, run at the skeleton,' Lucas ordered. 'Attack him, but don't hurt Zoey.'
'Got it!' Alex ran at the skeleton, putting her swords together. She slashed at him, the opposite side of Zoey, but he put a dagger up and blocked her sword.
'Perfect!' Lucas complimented. 'Now let him over power you.'
'Uh... Have you seen the skeletons fight? Lucas, lying and deception are my specialties but...'
'Trust me.'
Alex suppressed a sighed and as the skeleton pushed her back, she allowed herself to fall. Though she may have made it a bit too obvious, so she nervously glanced to Zoey. 'How was that?' Alex asked Lucas.
'Good,' Lucas telepathically told her.
More skeletons gathered and surrounded everyone. 'Uh, your plan didn't involve us getting caught did it?' Alex asked.
'I did tell you it was crazy,' Lucas reminded her.
'Yeah but...'
A skeleton walked up behind Alex and lifted her onto her feet. "Take them to the cells," a skeleton instructed. "Seperate cells. Put the telepath and seer back in their own cells."
"Lucas," Zoey squeaked, her eyes full of fear.
"It'll be fine Zoey," Lucas said softly. "I promise."
The skeletons pushed the ninja down the hall as Lucas was taken back into his cell.
Zane sat in his cell, thinking over what he'd seen when he and Zoey touched. The others hopefully thought he was thinking of a way out. He couldn't though. He kept thinking about seeing Zoey in the prison tower with his father. Maybe she was there before his father or something. He looked up as Alex paced in her cell across from him.
"Remind me never to trust one of Lucas's plans again," she said.
"Wait, this was apart of his plan?" Kai asked from the cell next to Zane's.
"Apparently," Alex muttered.
"Okay, so now what?" Cole asked.
Alex shrugged. "I assume we wait." She sat down in meditation position and closed her eyes.
Jay, who was in the cell next to Alex, sat down for a moment. He tried to meditate like Alex, but he got back up and started to pace back and forth again. "Well, I can't wait," he complained.
"Yeah," Lloyd agreed. "We can't just wait around."
Alex sighed. "Nin means patients. Part of being a ninja is to master patients."
"How can you be so calm down here?" Cole asked. "We're at the mercy of the skeletons."
Alex's eyes opened and she looked down at the ground in front of her. She kept quiet for a moment. "Don't think of it that way," she whispered. "We're way stronger than a bunch of bone heads. We just need to wait for the right time."
"Guys," Zane said. "Did you notice anything off about Zoey?" Everyone stopped and looked to Zane.
"What do you mean?" Kai asked.
"There's something about Zoey," Zane replied. "Couldn't you tell?"
"Well, Zane, she's a seer," Alex reminded him. "Maybe that's what you sensed off."
"It wasn't something I sensed," Zane said, thinking it over. "She said her last name is Julien right?"
It was quiet for a long moment. "We'll have to talk to your father about that," Lloyd said.
Suddenly there was the sound of footsteps echoing down tat hall. Alex jumped up and slowly moved to the edge of her cell, trying to peer out. She pulled back and looked to Zane for a moment. He got he message that it wasn't Lucas or Zoey.
"Guys, if they open up a cell, use Spinjitzu and break out," Kai whispered.
"And what if they over power us before they can open another cell?" Jay asked.
"Then you hope you get lucky and break away," Alex said. They waited and a skeleton came. He looked to each of the cells. He stopped and opened Lloyd's.
What did you think?
Alex: I'm so smart.
I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to the people who are going to review.
Alex: Fine! I'll go on my account and review! I am updating a story tomorrow so I'm review and say I'm so smart.
... Everyone—but Alex—REVIEW!
