I am done Rambling you guys to death

ON WITH THE STORY!

Ratchet climbs into Aphelion and he takes off towards Kanes base. The whole way there he was thinking about getting payback for all of the things that Kane had done. He wanted to kill Kane, but he knows that Kate wants him alive so that he can stand trial for the mass genocide he had committed on terachnos.

Ratchet landed Aphelion behind a large sand dune that was about a quarter mile away from Kane's stronghold at the elder council. Ratchet climbed to the top of the sand dune and he got in the prone position. He reached into his armors storage compartment and he pulled out a scope. Ratchet looked through the scope and found Kanes compound. He looked at the east side of the base, "Well it looks like that spotter's intel was correct" Ratchet said to himself. He then panned to the west side and he made a mental note of how few guards there were. Ratchet then spotted Kane himself walking with a limp, and he chuckled to himself. "Nice shot Lucilla" Ratchet thought out loud.

Ratchet thought he got enough intel on Kanes defences. He slid down the sand dune on his butt, and jumped in Aphelion who was not happy about Ratchet getting sand all over her interior. Ratchet flicked a few switches on aphelions dash and he started her up. He flew up into the bright Fastoon sky bound for Fort Crimson.

When Ratchet arrived back at Fort Crimson, Kate and Lucilla were waiting for him in the courtyard. Ratchet popped open Aphelions canopy, and jumped out. Kate and Lucilla walked over to him. "The hell were you thinking Ratchet? Going there without any backup" Kate yelled

Ratchet sighed "I can move more stealthy on my own"

Kate sighed defeated. She knew how stubborn Ratchet was, so she didn't even argue with him. "Okay how much intel did you gather?"

Ratchet smirked and motioned for Kate and Lucilla to follow him. They walked to Kates office. Ratchet pulled a storage device out of his scope, and plugged it into Kates holo PC. A hologram popped up revealing pictures that Ratchet took with the camera function on his scope.

"Kane's defences are crap" Ratchet started "He has a crumbling wall on the east side of the compound"

Kate nodded while taking in the information "So should we focus our attack there?" Kate asked

Ratchet shook his head. "No, Kane also has a shortage of guards on the west side" Ratchet flicked to the picture of the west side walls guards. "We should attack the main entrance with most of our men. This will make Kanes men from around the other parts of his stronghold, focus on the main entrance. This will give us the opportunity to scale the west wall and blow through the east wall. When we do this, we can create a crossfire and take out most resistance by hitting them from multiple sides" Ratchet said in a very confident tone. Kate and Lucilla were impressed by Ratchets plan.

"Good job Ratchet, we will commence operation swordbreaker at midnight" Kate said.

Kate got on the PA system that they had set up in the fort. "Everybody get some rest, we just got some hard intel on Kane, and we are going to launch a full scale assault on his compound at midnight." With that they went to the living quarters for some well needed rest.

Ratchet's nightmare

Ratchet was running through the streets of Fastoon with Lucilla. The city had been fully reconstructed and it was beautiful. They ran to the outskirts of Fastoon city and stopped. Ratchet closed his eyes and pulled Lucilla into a kiss. When Ratchet opened his eyes and broke the kiss he noticed Lucilla started spitting up blood. Lucilla looked down and so did Ratchet. On lucilla's stomach there was a blaster wound. Lucilla looked back up into Ratchets eyes. "How could you let me die Ratchet!" Lucilla screamed while spitting up more blood. "Lucilla, I don't understand" Ratchet replied. "You got me killed Ratchet!" Lucilla yelled. Ratchet was trembling where he was standing. The city of Fastoon turned into a barren wasteland. The sky turned a deep red color. The sand around them was no longer dry. It was saturated with blood. Thunder and lightning cracked across the sky and it started to rain blood. Lucilla grabbed Ratchet and floored him. She straddled Ratchet and proceeded to choke him all the while screaming at the top of her lungs "You killed me! You let me die! You let the mission come before my safety!". Ratchet was now in tears. While gasping for breath he had Lucilla's whole weight on his throat.

Ratchet shot up in bed. He was soaked with sweat and he was gasping for air. Clank was sitting next to Ratchets bed in sleep mode, but he powered up when Ratchet woke. "Ratchet are you okay?" Clank asked. Ratchet turned to his life long friend, he still had the look of genuine fear and shock plastered on his face.

"Yea, i'm okay buddy, just a nightmare"

Clank pressed "what was it about"

Ratchet turned his bed and he looked at Lucilla who was sleeping on the bed next to his.

"I'm afraid Clank"

Clank was shocked but he quickly suppressed it. Ratchet was not one to be afraid of many things, and when he was, he usually did not admit to it.

"Afraid of what Ratchet?"

"I keep having these nightmares. Every one is worse and more gruesome than the last. Lucilla keeps dieing in them." Ratchet was now on the verge of tears, which was also not very common of him. When Ratchet would cry, he usually made sure nobody would hear or see him do it. This had Clank worried for his friend.

Clank put his hand on Ratchets shoulder "Do you want to talk about it Ratchet?" Clank asked out of concern for his friend.

Ratchet nodded and explained the dream that he had. By the time Ratchet was done he was crying without restraint. But he soon got ahold of himself when Kate walked in. Kate proceeded to wake everyone up to get ready for the battle. Ratchet hurriedly dried his eyes. He got up and proceeded to get dressed in his Hyperflux armor. He threw Clank onto his back and he headed out to the courtyard of Fort Crimson.

The whole Resistance gathered in the courtyard to be briefed on Operation Swordbreaker. Kate climbed up on the hood of her starfighter Omiria. "Okay here is how this is going to happen everyone. The brute of our forces will attack the main entrance of Kane's compound. Two smaller forces will attack from the west and the east. This will have Kanes men preoccupied with defending from the main attack. My son Ratchet will be heading the ground operations, while myself and a few others will provide air support via strafing runs. Any who want to back out, please step back now". Kate waited for a few seconds. Nobody wanted out. "Wonderful, lets roll out".

Before everyone got into the transports, Ratchet confronted Lucilla. "Lucilla, I don't want you on the ground with me. Lets call it a gut instinct. I want you in the air with my mother. When I land take aphelion and join up with her" Ratchet said with fear in his voice. Lucilla nodded and she hugged Ratchet. "Please be safe Ratch". Ratchet hugged back "I will, you too" Ratchet replied. Ratchet ran ahead of Lucilla and he got into the cockpit of Aphelion. "Aphelion, Lucilla is going to pilot you when I am on the ground. If things get too hectic in the air, I want you to pull out of the fight and protect her okay" Ratchet said "of course Ratchet you do not have to worry about a thing".

Lucilla jumped into Aphelion with Ratchet and they took off. They were ready for vengeance.

Ratchet was at the head of the pack with fifteen transport vessels following behind him in a v formation. Ratchet got on the comm system and started rallying the resistance. "Okay everyone, we will be there in five minutes. This is our chance to end this bloody fight once and for all. Kane has pushed us from our homes. He has killed many of us. He will never break our spirit. He disguises his reasons for killing as vengeance for those who had died during Tachyons attack twenty three years ago. Do you think this is what those who gave their lives would want? I think not! Lets show him what true vengeance looks like. He will not slander the names of those who died after we are finished with him. What do you say, lets kick some traitor ass!". Heavy cheering came from the Resistance in the transports. They were pumped and ready to end the Lombax civil war once and for all.

Aphelion and the transports landed a half mile away from Kane's compound. Ratchet hopped out and reconnected Clank to his harness.

"Good luck Ratchet" Lucilla said as she closed Aphelions canopy. Ratchet gave a nod and waved to Lucilla as she took off.

Ratchet led the resistance in the cover of the darkness to Kanes compound. Ratchet Gave one of his personal R.Y.N.O.s to the Lombax General that was leading the attack on the main entrance codenamed Tomahawk. He also gave one to the Lombax leading the attack from the East codenamed Pike. The three attacking groups split up as they approached Kanes compound. Ratchet and his group, codenamed Shadowhawk went West. They lined up along the wall of the compound and waited for the attack on the main gate to start.

As soon as they heard Combat, they threw grapple hooks over the wall and they proceeded to climb up and over. Just as Ratchet had guessed, Kanes men that were guarding the west wall, went to support those at the main entrance. As soon as all of Ratchets group were over the wall, they got into cover and waited for the group to get through the wall on the east side before they started to attack. When the east group broke through the wall and entered Ratchet gave the open fire command and hell was unleashed on Kanes men. Ratchet fired a few shots with his constructo pistol. He put down one of Kanes men. He then pulled out his cryo mine glove and he lobbed a few of them at a group freezing them solid. Ratchet was so preoccupied shooting Kanes cronies, that he didn't notice one of them creep up behind him. The traitor smacked Ratchet in the side with his wrench which knocked him onto the ground. The guy then raised his wrench above his head and was ready to deliver the kill. However, before the lombax could hit Ratchet, he cringed and fell to the ground. There standing with a smoking blaster was Rook. Ratchet gave a quick salute to show his gratitude and Rook nodded.

Before long Kanes men had either been slaughtered or they had surrendered to the resistance. Tomahawk and pike gathered up all of Kanes surrendered men While Shadowhawk breached the council chambers in search of Kane. When they breached the doors, Kane was waiting for them in the main chamber. Ratchets group instantly pointed their guns at Kane.

"Stand down! I've got this" Ratchet commanded. Ratchet holstered his constructo pistol and he pulled out his wrench.

"Now that you are here, we can finish our match dear brother" Kane said darkly

"You have two choices Kane, surrender and stand trial for your actions, or we fight and I beat you into submission" Ratchet stated matter of factly

"As good as that first choice sounds, i'm going to choose neither. I'm going to kill you. Here and now hero!"

With that Kane brandished his praetorian wrench and charged at Ratchet. Ratchet sidestepped and smacked Kane in the side with his wrench. Kane grabbed his side and growled "I see you have improved brother" Kane hissed. Kane went to strike Ratchet again but Ratchet blocked and threw a counter what Kane also blocked. They were locked in a stalemate which Kane was winning, due to his superior strength. Ratchet's knee buckled underneath him and Kane kneed Ratchet in the jaw, sending him over onto his back. Kane went to pin Ratchets throat to the ground, but Ratchet was one step ahead of him. Just as Kane thrusted his wrench, Ratchet brought up his foot and kicked Kane in his injured knee, dislocating it as a result. Kane screamed in pain as his knee bent backwards and he fell on the ground. Ratchet turned kane over onto his stomach and he put plasma cuffs on him. "Take him away" Ratchet commanded his subordinates. Two of Ratchets subordinates picked up Kane and carried him to a transport ship.

Ratchet walked into the courtyard and Lucilla landed Aphelion. Lucilla jumped out of Aphelion, and ran full tilt towards Ratchet. Lucilla Grabbed Ratchet and she held him in a tight embrace.

"It is so good to know that you made it Ratchet" Lucilla said in between happy sobs.

"What, you thought I would leave you here all on your lonesome" Ratchet replied

Lucilla just smiled and hugged tighter. Ratchet cringed because of a fractured rib that he had gotten from when Kane's soldier had cracked him in the side with his wrench.

Lucilla let go of Ratchet and they got into Aphelion and flew back to Fort Crimson.

When they and the rest of the resistance landed, Kanes trial immediately started.

Kane was tied to a chair sitting in the middle of the courtyard of Fort Crimson, surrounded by the resistance. Ratchet was taking place of Kate as the judge. Even know Kane has caused pain and misery to everyone, he was still Kates son, and she couldn't give the verdict, or watch him die, after the verdict has been given.

The trial went on for an hour and Kane was ultimately given the guilty verdict and sentenced to death.

Everyone waited until dawn and Kane had his upper armor removed and he was tied to a wooden pole and blindfolded. Six lombax sharpshooters lined up in front of kane and they took aim. They were given the fire order and BOOM!.

I hope everyone liked the final chapter as a thankyou to all of you who had showed me support i doubled the length of this chapter 2500 words. As i said at the beginning I am putting out a sequel to this i just don't know when.
