I'm sorry I'm so late! I had a bad case of writer's block! So I won't write a long AN. Enjoy the next chapter!
Alex sighed, finally pulling herself together. "We need to find a way out," she said. "Any ideas?"
"No," Nya said. "But I think out biggest concern is what just happened. Your eyes turned crimson didn't they?"
Alex looked down. "Nya, I have it under control."
"It didn't seem that way to me," Nya mumbled.
"I'm fine!" Alex snapped. "Let's just find a way out!" She placed her hand on the wall. As she pulled it away, part of it crumbled. "Huh... I wonder..." She pulled her fist back and punched it. She winced and pulled her hand to her chest. "Ow!"
"Why would you punch a wall?" Nya asked.
"It crumbled," Alex replied. "It's a weak point and I'm gonna break it." She got in a fighting stance and kicked the wall.
The ninja all prepared for their mission. Without the falcon or Bounty, they were on their own. Lucas sat down on the couch with Zoey. "I can't do this," he said quietly. "Someone's bound to get hurt. You see that don't you?"
Zoey put her hand out. "See for yourself."
Lucas hesitated. "What if I use my powers on you and..."
Zoey shook her head and grabbed Lucas's hand. Her eyes turned white and his turned teal. Then they faded back to their original colors. "Trust in destiny," Zoey said. "There's no way to change it, but..."
"But it can be altered," Lucas smiled. He and Zoey stood up. "Are we leaving or what? I owe my little sister a rescue."
"Tove! Hurry up!" Kai called upstairs.
Tove went through the floor and landed soundlessly behind Kai. "Well?" she asked, making Kai jump. He turned and saw Tove was now wearing a pale grey ninja suit. Kai opened his mouth to speak but Tove said, "You know, I actually don't care what your opinion is." She turned to Zane. "Your opinion I trust more, so what do you think?"
Zane smiled. "I think it suits you nicely."
Tove returned a smile. Though she was hoping for a 'oh my gosh you're gorgeous' response, but you get what you get and you deal with it. "Thanks."
"Let's get this show on the road," Jay said impatiently.
"Okay, we're going," Lloyd assured him. "We'll take Ultra Dragon until we find what might be schist." Lloyd closed him mouth tightly. It felt weird to say that word. "Okay, is there something else we can call it?"
"Uh, greenstone," Lucas suggested.
"Technically it is not greenstone—they are two different types of rock—but it would work as a substitute," Zoey said.
"Ultra Dragon?" Tove questioned. "Like, a dragon?"
"Yeah," Kai said. "Don't tell me you're afraid of dragons."
"I'm not afraid of anything! Not this world, not the spirit world, not even the Underworld!" Tove retorted.
"Great!" Jay said, pushing Kai and Lloyd out the door and pulling Tove along. "Let's go." Zoey, Lucas, and Zane followed them out.
Alex slipped back and sat on the floor. "I've almost got it," she mumbled.
Nya stared at the crumbling wall. How could Pythor not have seen this? Alex had made a giant hole in it—still not big enough for them to fit through—but if Pythor saw, he'd have to do something about it. "Maybe you should rest and I'll give it a go," the samurai said.
Alex nodded. "Great but..." She stood up and looked to the door. "Pythor's coming."
Pythor suddenly appeared at the door. "Hello gi– ah." He stared at the hole and turned to Nya and Alex with a death glare. "I didn't want to do this, but I guess you leave me no choice."
"For what?" Alex asked.
"The other serpentine are here and we are going to attack the ninja directly," he hissed. "Using their weaknesses against them."
"How do you plan on doing that?" Nya asked.
"Easy," the snake smirked. "I'll use the list of weaknesses Alex sent me."
Alex blinked. "List of... what?" She shook her head. She wouldn't send him something like that. Why would she? The memory came back. It was while she was evil. "Oh my gosh." Alex shook her head. "Lucas and Zoey are with them now. Tove too. You don't know their weaknesses and they'll help the ninja with theirs."
"We'll she about that," Pythor snapped before leaving.
Alex hit herself in the head. "I'm so stupid!"
"Alex you're not..."
"Yes I am! Pythor has their weaknesses and I shouldn't have run my mouth off about Lucas, Zoey, and Tove," she said.
Two serpentine guards came. The door opened and Alex reacted quickly. She kicked a guard back while Nya came out and punched the other. More guards appeared and the two were knocked to the ground. Alex tried getting up, but the guards were stronger—most being constrictai.
"Well, well," Skalidor said. "We won't want you to missss the show."
"Show?" Nya gulped, knowin what he probably meant.
Skalidor nodded. "That's right."
Ultra Dragon landed in a big grassy area. "Are you sure this is it?" Lloyd asked.
Zoey nodded. "This is what I could see. From here my vision blurs, I cannot see the outcome of the fight to come. Sometimes seeing is tricky."
"I don't even see any rock," Jay said, looking around. "This can't be it."
"It is," Lucas said. "I remember this. It was from when my mom was teaching me geography. Underneath this three foot layer of dirt is all rock. Metamorphic, igneous, you name it and it's probably here."
"Someone must've been an over achiever," Tove mocked. "Did you get a medal?"
Lucas rolled his eyes. "I just happened to remember it."
Suddenly the ground opened up in front of them. Ultra Dragon got spooked and took off. The ninja watched as Pythor emerged. "Ah, the ninja. So good to see you again," he hissed.
The ninja all got into a fighting position. Lucas shook his head. "This is impossible," he mumbled. "The serpentine don't exist."
"Lucas, he's right in front of you," Lloyd whispered. "If that's not enough to prove their existence..."
"I still don't believe it," he murmured.
"Well believe it!" Pythor snapped. "And don't even bother fighting. If you don't surrender then you're putting Nya and Alex in danger."
"Let them go!" Jay demanded.
Four Constrictai came up with Alex and Nya. Alex was staring down. She looked up to Lucas. I have the strength to free us, but the only way to do it is to... well... she thought to him.
Alex, if your eyes turn crimson again then...
So I won't do it, Alex told him.
The ninja didn't know what to do. If they attacked, Nya and Alex could get hurt. Zoey's eyes flashed white. She pulled Lucas and Jay back. "You two need to stay back," she whispered. "I know you can't usually change what I see but..."
"Got it, Zoe," Lucas said. He looked up to Alex. "She's thinking of using the venom, to strengthen herself. That way they don't have anything to us against us."
"What if she does use the venom?" Jay asked. "Will it take over completely again?"
"I don't know," Zoey said.
Kai got sick of just standing there. He had to save his sister. The Ninja of Fire quickly drew his sword and shot fire at Pythor. Zane pulled out his sword out and aimed at the Constrictai holding Alex and Nya back. They quickly moved out of the way. Tove watched everyone for a moment before vanishing.
"Tove!" Kai yelled, looking around. "Don't just..."
A snake started to attack Kai but it was knocked down. Tove appeared by it. "Cool it, I'm helping," she said.
Zane kept moving towards the constrictai holding back Alex and Nya. He knocked down every snake that came at him with his sword. Pythor swung his staff at Zane, knocking the Ninja of Ice backwards. Tove appeared behind the andacondrai general and swiped his staff, pushing on his neck and knocking him down.
"Miss me?" she asked, glaring at the snake.
"Hardly!" Pythor scoffed, grabbing his staff by both ends. He pushed, moving himself so he was holding Tove down.
Venomari surrounded Zoey, Lucas, and Jay. Zoey pulled out a katana from a hidden compartment in her ninja suit. "I thought you said you weren't a fighter," Jay mumbled.
"I may or may not have stolen this from a skeleton..." Zoey said, swinging the katana at a snake to keep it back. "It comes in handy."
Lucas spun into his teal Spinjitzu vortex and knocked down a few snakes. When he came out he looked around. "How could the serpentine be real? It's impossible!"
Jay rolled his eyes. "I wish they were fake," he mumbled before knocking some snakes down with his lightning sword. "That'd make our lives easier."
It seemed the more serpentine they knocked down the more appeared. Alex watched helplessly. Lucas, she thought, not intending for him to over hear. I'm sorry, but I have no choice.
Lucas turned to his sister. She couldn't. She wouldn't! "Alex!"
