It's late, but I'm up and ime updating. I know it seems like I won't get this all done in 18 chapters, but I'm gonna do it! This chapter is going to be awesome!
Lucas stared at his sister. He saw what had happened. He knew how her decision was affecting the evil inside of her. It was growing rapidly now. Lucas closed his eyes as the began to glow. One shot, he thought. I can't mess up. I am Lucas Austin Garmadon. I can do this.
The area around him went white and everyone vanished except Alex. He hoped it worked. He took a step towards his sister. "Alex!"
Alex turned to her brother, her crimson eyes glowing brightly. "Release my psyche!" she commanded.
Lucas shook his head. "If I do, you won't listen. You won't fight the venom. Zoey can't see it, but I know I'm right."
Alex clenched her fists and stepped towards Lucas. "Who are you to stop me? What ever happens, happens. You can't change fate."
Lucas turned and moved his hand, causing part of the white land scape turn colored. The image showed Alex as a young girl. "You hate fate, remember?" he asked. "Ever since I was taken, you wanted nothing more than to change fate."
"People change, Lucas," Alex said. "I've changed. You've changed. You aren't like you were all those years ago. I'm not the same girl I use to be. Yes, I did believe fate was evil, but I didn't know what true evil felt like back then."
"You still don't! Alex you aren't evil!" Lucas insisted. "You're my sister! You're pure!"
"I'm not pure! I can never be pure! My heart has been tainted!" Alex yelled. "You can't change that!"
"I can't," Lucas admitted. "Lloyd can't. You can't. Dad can't. No one can change it, but you can control it. You have before, I've read your mind remember?" The image changed to Alex a few months prior, turning from evil to normal. "Do it again."
Alex looked down. "I can't," she said. "I killed someone. That strengthened the evil. It makes me more powerful. The more I kill, the more powerful the venom becomes, the more powerful I become!"
"I can help you," Lucas said.
"You don't control the heart!" Alex snapped. "You can't help! Just leave me alone and let me continue on my path."
"No!" Lucas shouted. "I'll never let you fall into evil! No one from my family is being consumed by evil again!"
The images vanished and the white landscape consumed everything. Lucas returned to reality. He looked to his sister as she collapsed. What did he do?
"I'm telling you, it wasn't my fault!" Cole defended. "I tried protecting you guys by not talking!"
"If you hadn't blown up the Bounty, we could've gotten back sooner!" Jay insisted.
"Jay's right for once," Kai said. "You should've found a way to tell us without Pythor knowing."
"Stop it!" Zane cut it. "This is not the time to fight. We have other matters to attend to."
"Zane's the one who's right," Nya agreed. "We've argued enough. Can we just agree no more sercrets? From now one we tell everyone everything."
The ninja exchanged looks. "Yeah," Cole finally said. "No more secrets."
"Agreed."
"Definately."
"Here, here."
Nya smiled. "Good. Now I'm going up to check on things." She turned and walked upstairs.
"One of us should talk to Lucas," Jay said. "I nominate Cole."
"What?" Cole questioned.
"Well, you've already attack by his powers once, maybe he'll be more in control with you," Kai said.
"If you want the chances of you talking to him, let's just say it is better than our chances," Zane said.
Cole crossed his arms. "And what if he can't control his powers?" he asked.
"Then we'll tell your story," Jay said jokingly.
Cole rolled his eyes. "Thanks." He turned and headed into the training course area.
Lloyd paced outside of the girls' room. He was worried sick about his sister. Something had happened. One minute Alex had killed Pythor and was staring at his body. Less than five seconds later, she collapsed in front of them, and Lucas almost fell apart in tears. What ever happened, wasn't good.
"Lloyd," Garmadon said, walking over to his son. He placed his hand on the gold ninja's shoulder. "You need rest. You've been pacing since Dr. Julien and the girls went in to take care of Alex."
"I can't sleep," Lloyd insisted. "I won't be able to rest knowing there's something wrong with Alex. Dad I pretty much just met her a couple months ago! Why won't they at least tell me what's going on?"
"Maybe they don't know," Garmadon suggested. "Or maybe it's better you didn't know."
"Garmadon is right," Wu said. "They will tell us when they think it's time. Until then, we wait."
Cole sat next to Lucas, making a little noise so he knew that he was there. There was no benefit by startling him. "Lucas, why are you hiding?" he asked.
Lucas looked up, his eyes red. "I don't want to talk about it," he mumbled. "How's Alex?"
Cole shrugged. "No one has told us anything. Do you know something?"
Lucas put his head back on his knees. "You guys should just hand me back over to the skeletons."
"Uh, no," Cole said. "Zoey already told us not to let you convince us to do that. So if you aren't going to tell us what happened..."
"If you really want to know," Lucas said. "I entered Alex's mind and..."
"Wait did you..."
"Let me finish! She was going to give into to the evil. I was trying to stop her and may have gone a bit too far."
Cole looked down. Having felt Lucas inside his own head, he knew what the telepath was capable of. If Lucas thought he did something had to Alex... Cole pulled himself together. He was suppose to be their leader. He was suppose to stay strong when no one else could be. He had to keep everyone together and safe.
The Ninja of Earth stood up. "Lucas, what ever you did, I know you can fix it. You have to," he said. Before Lucas could say anything, the black ninja left.
Misako looked worriedly to her daughter. None of the medicines were helping, but there was one good thing. Her evil side had vanished, for good or not, no one knew.
"Her body has rejected everything!" Nya exclaimed, falling onto her bed. "There's nothing else we can do."
"What do you think happened?" Tove asked. She was floating, laying on her back.
"She could've gone into shock after... What happened," Dr. Julien said, going through the medicines he'd brought in. "It's the only explanation."
Zoey stood up from her meditation. "I could not see anything," she said. "I'm sorry. I tried."
"It's fine, Zoey," Misako said. "We can't expect you to..."
The door opened and Cole walked in. "How is she?" he asked, not bothering to hide the concern in his voice.
"Cole, we told you guys to stay out," Nya said, standing up. "Why don't you ever listen?"
"Please, you haven't given us any word in two hours. We deserve to know what's happening," Cole said. "She's our friend too."
Tove chuckled. "You sure you wanna use the word friend?"
Cole glared at the floating girl. He looked back to Nya and Misako for some kind of answer. "So how is she?"
Misako sighed. She looked past Cole to where Garmadon and Wu stood with Lloyd. They all deserved an answer. "Her body keeps rejecting the medicines," she said. "We're kinda running out of options."
Cole bit his lip. This couldn't be happening. He turned to Lloyd. The Ultimate Spinjitzu Master looked like he was going to fall apart like Lucas did. "There's gotta be something you can do," he insisted. "Anything."
"Lloyd, if there's something we can do, we'll do it," Dr. Julien assured him. "No one is giving up."
"Guys," Tove said.
"Yeah?" Zoey asked, beginning to pace.
"I think that last medicine worked," the ghost girl said. "She's moving... Compared to how she was before that's an improvement."
Alex opened her eyes, looking up at her mom. "Ug... Dying would've been less painful... Right?"
Everyone smiled at her, surrounding her bed.
"What?" Alex asked. "Did I do something great while I was out? You should know I remember nothing about the fight."
"Nothing?" Lloyd asked.
"Nope," Alex said, pushing herself up. She winced at the pain spreading throughout her body. "I let the venom take control, I remember that for sure. Where are the others? Did I..."
"The others are fine, just downstairs," Cole told her.
"Oh... So I didn't "accidently" injure Kai?"
"No," Nya said, rolling her eyes. "Everyone is fine."
"Aw..." Alex moaned. "So that means I get to deal with Kai and Jay's critism!"
"Most likely not," Wu said. "Not after what I heard happened."
Alex frowned. "What did I do?"
Everyone exchanged looks. No one knew what to say. If they told her, the venom might try to take over again. If they didn't, she'd push them until they do. "Well..." Lloyd started.
"You kind of..." Nya tried to continue.
"It's hard to explain..." Zoey added.
"What are you guys hiding?" Tove questioned. "Alex, you totally crushed Pythor! I never knew you had that in you! Now we'll never have to see that snake again!"
Alex stared at her, trying to connect the dots. "Wait... Did I... Did I kill Pythor?"
What did I tell you? Now you know how Lucas enters someone's mind. Do you want him inside your head? So review. I really hope you love this story.
(Lucas's initials spell LAG on purpose. If he wants he can make your brain lag.)
