Tagiru's Bizarre Adventure

By now you know what kind of Digimons the gang are facing and what will they do to deal with a situation like this, and you'll definitely feel like playing a real-life chess game, except that Tagiru and the gang are the "chess opponents", as the "white", as the opponents are "black". This is just the start...as more will soon pop out without anyone noticing...

Ch. 17: Pōn Hoshi

Much later, it was lunch time and the teens began to eat their lunch, and after that, most of them resume their fun at the beach, with Taiki and Nene began swimming at the waters, Yuu watches Gumdramon and Damemon playing chess, while Tagiru decided to walk around the beach to explore. He didn't want to cause another scene after Yuu "threatened" to do some "action" if he tries anything towards Nene. Tagiru sighed as he didn't see anything wrong admiring her sexiness.

"Yuu is such a jerk...what's wrong with admiring his elder sister? And can't he loosen up that I'm interested in her?"

However, as he passed by a vacant hut, something emerged there as several human-sized Digimons came out, and they all resembled "pawns" from chess pieces, to which he finds it very bizarre, and the way they move, he realized that he is like playing a real-life game of chess, and he is outnumbered, with eight against one.

"Just great...I even left my X-Loader with the others...guess I'll have to fight my way out..."

Seeing a billy club left on a bench, Tagiru grabbed it and began to smack it against his opponents and kicked some sands which caused some of it to hit his opponents' eyes, momentarily blinding them and whacked some of them to make them fall to the ground, and there he began to make a run and head to where Taiki and the others are, but to his surprise, more chess pawn-like Digimons showed up, all colored black, and are blocking Tagiru's path, and the teen realized that he is on his own.

"Shit! Not good..."

The Digimons, identified as "Pawnmons", began to go after Tagiru, and the teen finds himself being blocked from heading towards his friends, and sensed that he is being taregeted, as he realized that he left his X-Loader at his bag and realized that he is "defenseless" and had to resort in using other means to defend himself and alert the others of the situation at hand, so he began to take another route which the Pawnmons began to give chase.

Back at the beach, Taiki and Nene got out of the waters and are drying themselves with their towels when his X-Loader blared, and when Taiki answered it, it was one of Shoutmon's messengers and there he told Taiki that a group of "royal Digimons" are heading their way, in which Nene became alarmed and immediately took her X-Loader as preparations, and there Taiki learned of Shoutmon's predicament and took his X-Loader to prepare for self defense.

"Taiki!"

"Shoutmon...what's wrong?"

"Enemies are heading your way!"

"What?!"

"I'm busy with my problems at my kingdom..you'll have to fend them off yourselves for the time being...your other Digimon partners will have to stan in for me..."

"Okay...got it!"

"Be careful...I sense a new enemy is lurking close by..."

"I will!"

Since Shoutmon is busy at his kingdom, Taki will have to rely on his "collection" to fend off any opponent, but then noticed that Tagiru's X-Loader is still here, and realized that Tagiru is somewhere within the beach area, and as he and Nene are about to go and alert Yuu and the others, more Pawnmons appeared and surrounded the two teens, and Taiki realized that they are the ones that Shoutmon's messenger meant, and Nene pointed out that they resembled pawns from chess games.

"Taiki!"

"Blast! We've been surrounded!"

"Looks like they won't allow us to go anywhere!"

"Guess they're the ones Shoutmon is pointing out..."

"Tagiru's X-Loader is still with us..."

"Guess we'll have to fight our way out..."

"Taiki...they resembled pawns from chess pieces..."

"I noticed it...and this gives me an idea..."

Guessing this, Taiki decided to try some strategy by testing out how the Pawnmons attack, and brought out his X-Loader, and summoning the Digimons he have which one by one, they were released and summoned. They are:

- Chibi-Kamemon

- Pinochimon

Likewise, Nene activated her X-Loader and summoned her Digjmons, which are:

- Mervamon

- Sparrowmon

Although still outnumbered, eight Pawmons against Taiki, Nene, Chibi-Kamemon, Pinochimon, Mervamon and Sparowmon, Taiki had an idea to learn how their opponents operate in battle and suggested to Chibi-Kamemon to follow his instruction, and the Digimon did, moving "two blocks forward", and the first Pawnmon did the same. Seeing this, Taiki instructs Pinochimon to move one block forward, and as soon as the Digimon did, another Pawnmon followed suit, and there Taiki tells Pinochimon to move two blocks forward, and as soon as he did, the Digimon is in position and uses his hammer to defeat the first one, leaving only seven more to go.

"It worked!"

"What now, Taiki..."

"We move like we are playing a chess game, Nene...and we'll do so until we knock them out..."

"What about Yuu?"

"Damemon and Gumdramon are with him...so he'll be fine..."

"What about now?"

"Follow my instructions and we'll get past them..."

"Okay..."

After given instructions, Nene and the others followed Taiki's suggestions and soon both sides are engaged in a game of real-life chess battle, with the only difference is that there are only pawns and nothing else. To even the odds, Taiki used Tagiru's X-Loader to summon Sagomon and the battle is about to take place.

Not far, Gumdramon was scratching his head after losing five games in a row with Yuu winning with Damemon being the spectator, and is laughing at how guillable Gumdramon is, as the small Digimon was making a lot of mistakes that costs him some valuable chances to defeat Yuu, though Yuu had to keep his partner in line seeing that Gumdramon still has a lot to learn, and tells him that he is willing to teach him how to play chess properly.

"Looks like you need a lot to learn, Gumdramon..."

"Ahh...such a confusing game..."

"That's how it's like..."

"You keep on rushing...you should plan things out first before making your move..."

"..."

"After this I'll teach you some more..."

"Really?"

"Yes."

As Yuu is about to start a new game and about to give Gumdramon some lessons, two black-colored Digimons showed up ,and to Yuu's disbelief, the two entrants resembled chess pieces of Rook, and as Damemon moves in to intercept, the two Digimons moved in "L"-shaped movements, be it horizontally or vertically, in which Damemon was initially confused, and there the two Digimons, identified as "Rookmons", moves in, colliding and knocking Damemon down, and this leaves Yuu and Gumdramon on their own.

"Damemon!"

"Looks like we got new opponents from the Digital World..."

"At this time of the day and of all places..."

"..."

"What?"

"Look, Yuu...they resembled like rooks from the chess game we just played..."

"You're right..."

"Say...bzz...bzz...bzz..."

"Hmm...okay..."

Noticing that the two resembled rooks, Gumdramon told Yuu about this, and the teen studied the two opponents carefully, and came with a strategy on how to trap the two, using his X-Loader to summon Rook-Chessmon and then Superstarmon and his Star Armies, and there Yuu told Superstarmon the plan and the Digimon and his Star Armies began to go after the two Rookmons, as they moved in "L"-shaped movements, evading them until Rook-Chessmon found an opening and did a double clothesline that sent the two Digimons down, and there the Star Armies went forward and clobbered the two, though it did little to contain them.

However, the two Rookmons decided to do a hasty retreat, and went towards a vacant hut, which was soon followed by the remaining Pawnmons, and as Yuu checked the hut, the Digimons have already disappeared, and soon Taiki and Nene arrived to assess the situation, and there they realized that Tagiru is still in trouble, so they went towards a certain area and upon arriving, they found the other pawmons standing, and Tagiru is sprawled on the ground, his left temple busted open and Gumdramon grabbed the X-Loader from Taiki and went towards Tagiru, managing to hold on to him just as the Pawnmons and the Rookmons suddenly disappeared, and after that, the Digimons are gone, and have taken Tagiru and Gumdramon with them.

"Yuu!"

"Yuu!"

"Taiki! Onee-chan!"

"They're gone..."

"And they've taken Tagiru with them!"

"Gumdramon's with him as well..."

"This is bad..."

"What now?"

"I know of one person we can approached to..."

Taiki, Nene and Yuu decided to head to the one place they knew and ask someone who can help them in finding Tagiru as they packed their things and leaves the beach.

Looks like Tagiru is now in a new kind of danger now that he gets abducted, and yet Gumdramon managed to get to his partner so now Tagiru has some hope that would prevent him from being marked for elimination...

First pawn...then rook...expect more chess pieces to appear in later chapters...
