A.N: I AM ALIVE! Don't worry I havent forgotten about this fanfiction... well I almost did. Real life caught up fast, GSCE exams occured and my keyboard wouldn't work. Thankfully, I managed to write this down on my dad's laptop and so without further or do! Chapter three of Light of the Shadows!
Chapter three: The mypterious creature
Giratina never felt so happy during the many months after meeting Shaymin. She felt as though the flame of happiness had reignited inside of her. Many months passed since the gratitude pokemon stumbled into the distortion world accidentally. After Shaymin had healed her, she gave Shaymin one item that was precious to her and allowed access to the distortion world.
The Griseous orb. The orb was a rich golden colour and looked jagged, the orb itself held the power to change Giratina's form in the overworld but Giratina didn't need it, seeing that she was unable to go into the overworld. Instead, she gave it to Shaymin so that the Gratitude pokemon could contact her whenever she wanted to come into the distortion world.
"C'mon Gira! You can fly faster than that!" Shaymin cried, flying far ahead of Giratina in her sky form.
Giratina smirked and flew after Shaymin, not wanting to lose to the gratitude pokemon. Shaymin's sky form was different from her land form. Instead of her hair being large and bushy, her hair was now shorter and spiker but still held that lively green colour. Her kimono was replaced with a white pilot jacket with the fur around the collar and sleeves green. A pair of white shorts with green lining were on her legs and ankle high green boots were on her legs, with small green wings on the heel. Around her neck was a red neckchief and on her head were a pair of green goggles with large white wings attached to them.
Giratina's wings narrowed and she sped up towards where the gratitude pokemon was waiting for her, soaring through the distortion world. Realising Giratina was heading straight for her, Shaymin spun around and dived downwards, Giratina straight on her tail.
"Get back here, Sky! I am faster than you think!" Giratina shouted, a wide smile on her face. She dived straight after Shaymin and the two of them sweaved in and out between the ice pillars and waterfalls. While the two became close friends, they decided to give each other nicknames, Gira for Giratina, Shay for Shaymin's land form, and Sky for Shaymin's sky form.
"Yeah! Faster than a pidgey!" Shaymin shouted, she pulled out of the dive and shot straight upwards. The gratitude pokemon was grinning madly as she soared through the sky.
"Oh you asked for it now!" Giratina bellowed, pulling out of her own dive and flew straight towards the gratitude pokemon.
Giratina caught Shaymin in her arms and the two of them went spirling through the air in a mixture of giggles and laughter. For once, Giratina felt joy flow through her veins and couldn't help but smile. She spread her wings to stop them from sprialing and floated in the air, she released Shaymin from her arms and the two of them ended up laughing.
"Whew... I'm thirsty..." Shaymin wheezed, holding her sides while panting. "Is there somewhere where I can get a drink?"
Giratina nodded and headed towards her house, Shaymin following after her. Her house was in one of the large building towers but hers was quite small, there was a library, a kitchen, three bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom and her observation room that was filled with orbs showing the Overworld.
Unknown to them, however, something was lurking in the shadows, watching them carefully with one single white eye. It had been observing them for a while, especially the Giratina. Her power was what drawn it here and now it wants that power. Slowly, the creature followed after them, waiting for the perfect time to make its move.
After a few minutes of resting, Giratina and Shaymin were out flying again. Instead of chasing after each other, the two of them flew side by side and were talking about things that occured in the Overworld and Hall of Origin.
"...and now Dialga is wearing a dark blue suit with the same light blue arrows on them!" Shaymin finished. She was talking about what happened to Dialga after Giratina had attacked him.
"Let me get this straight, I destroyed his armour so now he is wearing a suit?" Giratina questioned curiously with amusement sparkling in her eyes. Shaymin nodded. "Damn... he must be pissed off with me."
"Not actually, he seemed quite happy to be wearing that suit," Shaymin explained happily, her arms behind her back. "I remember him telling me he wanted a new outfit and wanted to get rid of the armour, I think you did him a favour even though you still hold a grudge against him."
Underneath them, small black and white squares were gathering, forming what appears to be a female's body, except the arms were wide as if the being was wearing sleeves and the legs looked as though they had claws at the end. On some parts of the being's body, it looked as though those partswere breaking up into smaller squares. Where the head was, a crimson red eye gazed up at the two quietly. However, neither of the two legendaries noticed it.
Giratina sighed and stopped flying, hovering in the air. "I suppose..."
Shaymin stopped and looked at Giratina sadly. "Still remember that day?"
"Of course I would, Sky," the renegade pokemon replied sadly. "That was the day I had my last glimsp of the real world, to feel the wind, to smell the sweet grass... to see my father..."
The creature behind them raised its hand and the arm shot towards Giratina, the hand taking the form of three massive claws. Giratina's eyes widened and she glanced behind her, quickly flying upwards to avoid it. Shaymin quickly flew upwards as well.
"What the-!" Shaymin cried, watching the being pull its hand back. "What is that thing?"
Giratina's eyes narrowed as she focused on the creature, feeling a very high negative energy coming from it. She had read many books about all the pokemon in the Overworld, from Kanto to Kalos, yet she never read about this one. However, she felt uneased about the creature; is it friendly? How did it get into the distortion world?
"Who are you? How did you arrive here?" Giratina bellowed, keeping her eyes on the being.
The creature tilted its head before raising its arm again at Giratina, a orange ball of energy gathering by its hand. Giratina's eyes widened.
"Shaymin! Fly!" she bellowed.
At the same time, the creature released a hyperbeam towards Giratina. Quickly, the Renegade pokemon vanishes into the shadows and reappeared behind the creature. Her right hand becomming surrounded by a dark blue and purple energy that took the form of three large claws.
Damn... it's hostile! Giratina thought. Now's my chance to attack while it's recharging!
She brought the Dragon Claw down towards the creature. The creature turned around and placed its hand in front of itself. The Dragon claw struck the arm and Giratina pushed down, gritting her teeth.
"W-What...? How?" Giratina gasped. How could this creature strike even though its recharging?
The creature tilted its head again and pushed Giratina back, sending her through the air. Giratina spread out her wings and the Dragon Claw faded away. The creature suddenly charged towards Giratina who flew out of the way, she raised her hand and a ball of dark energy appeared within her hand. At the same time, the creature placed both hands in front of it and a ball of electrcity appeared.
Giratina threw the shadowball at the creature, just as the creature fired a Shock Wave at her. The two moves collided with the other, causing a massive explosion. Giratina was sent back a little as smoke blocked her view of the creature. She looked around frantically, her eyes narrowed.
"Gira, behind YOU!" Shaymin screamed.
Giratina quickly turned around, just as the creature pieced through her left shoulder with its spear-like hand. A piercing scream echoed through the distortion world as the creature's hand pierced deeper through her shoulder, causing blood to stain her clothes and run down her chest. The lady of distortion gritted her teeth, trying to endure the pain. The creature tilted its head again before rippings its hand out from Giratina's shoulder. At the same time, the creature struck Giratina with another hyperbeam, this one stricking her directly in the stomach.
"Gira!" Shaymin screamed as Giratina was sent crashing into a mountain.
Giratina released another cry of pain as she collided with the mountain. She felt the mountain crack underneath her from the pressure which she struck it at. Her eyes flickered open and her right hand instantly placed itself on her left shoulder, trying to stop the blood from escaping her wound. Her stomach burned with agnony but that was nothing compared to the pain coming from her shoulder. Slowly, she stumbled to her feet, her body tembling furiously.
The creature was gliding towards her, its single eye focused on her and her alone. Behind it, Giratina saw Shaymin diving down towards it, a light green ball of energy appearing in her hand. Before the creature could get closer, Shaymin threw the Energy ball at the creature's back, the move hitting the creature directly in the back. The creature turned around to Shaymin as the gratitude pokemon began to generate another energy ball, looking as though the move didn't even affect it. It raised its hand and the hand suddenly shot towards Shaymin with immense speed, splitting into five tentacles, each with a razor sharp point..
Shaymin saw the thing coming towards her and fired the second energy ball, watching the move hit the creature in the head. Yet, the creature kept on coming. All the confidence from her body suddenly vanished the moment she met eye-contact with the creature, only to be replaced with pure fear. She tried to move but her body felt as though all the power was gone from it. Instead, she threw up her hands and braced for the attack.
It never came.
There was a sickening thud and Shaymin slowly opened her eyes, peering through her arms. Instantly, her face turned pure white and her mouth fell open.
Giratina had used Shadow force to get in front of Shaymin. Her wings were in front of her and each wing had the creature's tentacle stabbed through them, more blood dripping past the tentacles. Giratina gritted her teeth as she wrapped her wings around the tentacles. With all her strength, she threw the creature high into the air and released it, ignoring the pain as the tentacles pulled out from her wings. With a loud cry, Giratina charged after the creature, her swords appearing in her hands. She swung her swords towards the creature, the blades cutting through the creature with every strike, her eyes ablazed with pure fury.
As soon as she was done, Giratina backed away, looking at the creature that was sliced into many pieces. Her eyes then widened as the pieces joined back together, taking form of the creature once again. The creature suddenly vanishes and Giratina felt something gripping onto her and began to struggle, her swords falling out from her hands. The creature held onto her tigher as many tiny tentacles appeared out from its back, immediately stabbing into her body, legs, arms, wings and head.
Shaymin squeezed her eyes shut as one of the most piercing and heart-wretching screams pierced straight through her. The Distortion world itself trembled as Giratina shrieked in pain, the windows on the buildings smashed and cracks formed upon the mountains. The creature dug the tentaclues deeper, beginning to drain away her energy. Giratina tried to break free but as every second passed, she grew weaker and weaker.
"Someone... help... help... HELP ME!" Giratina cried through both her mind and her own mouth.
The moment the cry echoed through his mind, his eye flashed open. He had not heard that cry ever since that day, the day that haunted him without end. It was her voice, pleading, screaming and crying for aid. Slowly, he rose out from his throne where he remained for countless years. Immediately, he raised his hand and clicked his finger, a golden portal appearing in front of him. Without heistation, he dived straight through the portal that would lead straight into the Distortion world. Arceus knew Giratina was in trouble, he could hear her cries of pain from his throne in the Hall of Origin.
Giratina felt something enter the Distortion world, a strong and powerful aura radiating from it. Instantly, her eyes widened the moment she recognised that aura. A moment too soon, something grabbed hold of her and managed to pull her free from the creature's grasp. The arm was strong but gentle as she was pulled away from the creature's grasp. Her rescuer flew towards one of the platforms and placed her down before turning to the creature floating above. Giratina weakly raised her head and looked up.
Arceus, the creator and her father, was stood next to her. He looked exactly like he was when she saw him last time but the only different was that his coat was ripped at the bottom and his right eye was covered by a grey band. His remaining eye was focused on the creature, pure hatred burning within. Shaymin landed next to Giratina and knelt besides her.
"Shaymin, try and get Giratina out of here, I will distract that creature."
That voice. The calmness, the power, and the sad memories that came with it. Giratina felt tears appearing in her eyes as he spoke. She tried to open her mouth yet exhaustion came over her, leaving her unable to move.
"M-My lord, w-what about her banishment?" Shaymin asked worriedly. "I thought the chains prevented her from going through any portal to the Overworld."
"I lifted those chains," Arceus explained, holding out his right hand. In a bright flash, a rapier fully made from gold appeared in his hand, the hilt resembled a golden ring with four green gems on them. "Our priorty is to get Giratina to safety. Now quickly! She is in a bad condition and this is no place for her to be healed at!"
Shaymin nodded and placed Giratina's right arm over her shoulder, holding the Renegade pokemon. Carefully, Shaymin began to float towards the portal Arceus created.
At the same time, the creature fired its tentacles towards Shaymin and Giratina. Arceus quickly placed his rapier in front of him and fired a red beam towards the creature, the beam exploded into many smaller beams halfway towards the creature. The Judgement attack collided with the creature, sending it away from the two pokemon.
"Halt! I shall not allow you to harm my children!" Arceus bellowed, blocking the creature's way. "If you wish to get them, you shall have to fight me first!"
Giratina glanced down and watched as the creature charged towards Arceus, sending a Shock Wave towards him. Arceus placed his free hand on his belt, the gold lining of his clothes turning a dark brown. The move struck Arceus but had no effect on him, signalling that Arceus was now a ground type.
"You might as well surrender! You cannot defeat me as long as I am in possession of all 16 plates!" Arceus called to the being, the lining turning back to its normal gold lining. "As long as I stand, you shall not harm them!"
For the first time, the creature's eye narrowed and it raised its arms again. This time, the hands grew larger till they were humongous. In the middle of the hands, a large ball of white and black energy appeared, growing rapidly. The air filling with with a powerful negative force. The creature released a gigantic beam of negative energy but not towards Arceus. Arceus' eye widened and he glanced up at Shaymin and Giratina, they were almost at the portal but won't make it.
"NO!" Arceus bellowed.
Deciding quickly, Arceus swiftly turned around and glided towards the two pokemon, 16 glowing plates appearing around him. Shaymind turned around and saw the beam was nearly upon her, she quickly turned around and flew faster with her hand outstretched towards the portal. Giratina watched in pure horror as the attack came towards them, she closed her eyes and braced herself.
A pair of arms wrapped themselves around the two girls and a shield surrounded them. A second later, the beam struck and the two girls and Arceus braced themselves as the beam pushed the shield, threatening to smash it. Giratina glanced in front of her and saw her father holding both of them tightly, all 16 of his plates surrounding them as they kept the shield up. His eye were nearly closed as he tried to keep the shield up.
Cr-ack.
"Oh no!" Shaymin gasped.
"You two, brace yourselves!" Arceus shouted.
All three of them watched in horror as the shield began to crack under the beam's pressure. Giratina and Shaymin braced themselves as the beam began pushing them towards the portal, Arceus was trembling furiously as he tried to keep the shield up, the plates rotating faster and faster.
The shield broke.
Instantly, the beam blasted through the shield, colliding with all three of them at once. All three of their screams pierced through the air as they were sent through the portal, the plates breaking formation and being blasted away from Arceus. Giratina barely saw the room they landed in, witnessing as the beam smashed through the room. She, Shaymin and her father landed onto the floor, pain springing back through her body.
Slowly, Giratina managed to lift her head up and witnessed the sky, blue and clear with the clouds floating around lazily. Arceus' plates shot through the air, each going in a different direction. Giratina tried to raise to her feet but her vision blurred, yet she could make out the mysterious creature as it shot out from the portal and into the sky. Her eyes fell shut as the sound of footsteps and shouts reached her ears.

This will include moves from the prologue, chapter one and chapter three. Please note that I have decided to give each pokemon their own limit of moves depending on their age. (4 moves when 0-10 years old. 8 moves from 10-20 years old. 12 moves when over 20 years old)
