A/N: This is it! I finally finished this story. It didn't end exactly how i wanted it to, but alas, it is concluded. Hopefully with the ending of this one, the beginning of many more can start.

Chapter Twelve: Days Go By

Days go by

and still I think of you...

I held the folded piece of paper in my hand, as I gazed out into the ocean. Three weeks. Three weeks had passed and I only managed to run away and drop hints to Roxas. The wind blew as I gripped the paper tighter. Riku had said he hald to help Sora-no matter what-thus I never saw him anymore. We communicated via notes that we would leave each other on the island, and although I'd visit often-I never saw him. We wrote a lot though, most of the letters were me asking questions and him answering them-about everything ranging from Sora and Kairi, to him. Lately, it had became a routine to show up on Destiny Island and wait to see if he would show up-but he never did. I glanced down and unfolded the letter-reading it once more. Be careful-soon things won't be so easy. The longer you hold his memories, the more blurred things will become. I frowned, wondering what he meant. As I headed back towards the middle of the island, I began to feel my head throb. I placed the letter in my pocked and continued to walk. Moments later, I collapsed to the ground, holding my hands on my head. My head throbbed as I shut my eyes, and began to see Sora's memories...

'Give me a break Kai-' Sora said, sitting up on the beach. He had on red shorts, a red top, and a black and white short sleeved jacket. He had fighting gloves on his hands, and a crown necklace around his neck. He had messy brown hair, and bright blue eyes. His eyes looking at a girl who was smiling down on him. She had on a pink shirt, with a white tank top on over-top of a black one. She also had yellow cuffs on both her wrists. She just laughed at the boys reaction. 'Giving up already?' Riku said, laughing as Sora jumped up. He had on blue pants with a yellow and black top on. It was yellow in the front, and black in the back, with a black X across the front. He had black cuffs on his wrists and black gloves. Sora smiled at him and they both took off running…

Sora and the brown haired girl both sat on the fallen tree trunk, while Riku leaned against it with his arms crossed. 'If there are other worlds out there, why did we end up on this one?' he said, before a cave drawing appeared in place of the group of friends.

'This world has been connected' a voice said, before Sora appeared and turned to face the shadows. 'Wh-who's there!' he yelled into the cave, wanting to know what was happening. 'Tied to the darkness' the voice finished, before everything changed.

The sun was setting as the girl and the brown haired boy looked out over the ocean, sitting on the edge of the island. 'Sora, don't ever change' the girl said, smiling.

Riku stood on the island with his hand out. The sky was pitch black, like a storm was coming. 'The door has opened' he said, in a dark voice. 'What?' Sora said, slightly scared as his friend vanished into the darkness. Just then, a huge, black monster stood in front of him, 'You understand nothing' it said before everything went dark again.

The girl ran over to Sora, about to faint, as Sora reached out to catch her. 'So…ra…' she said before she faded away, and Sora was blown back into the darkness.

I screamed as I gripped my head, the memories wouldn't stop-and I felt myself losing control. "Stop!" I yelled, trying to force my consciousness back. Within minutes, everything stopped, and it was then I realized my head was lying in someone's lap. I opened my eyes, focusing hard on the face above me-realizing it was Riku. "I told you it'd get worse," Riku said, sadly. His face looked hurt, and I shut my eyes slowly. I reached up and felt my head-noticing my hair felt different-longer. I opened my eyes again, before slowly sitting up. I noticed then Riku was wearing an Organization XII cloak. Sighing, I took my hood down and Riku's eyes got wide. "Your hair...you have Sora's hair now. This is moving too fast," Riku said, sighing as I ran my hand through my hair. "Riku, what do I do?" I asked, as Riku shook his head. "You have to try to get through to your friend, but Xion, I can't guarantee that you'll have time to," he said, as I nodded. I glanced over at him and sighed, "I'm a goner," I said, frowning. Riku placed his hand on my cheek and leaned in-kissing me softly. "Xion, I can't see you anymore, I'm falling for you, hard-and I know what has to happen and if i'm near you I'll try to save you, but I can't," he said, looking hurt. I stood up, extending my hand out to Riku to help him up. He placed his hand in mine and I pulled-helping him up off the ground. "I'll talk to Roxas, I'll fix this," I said, as Riku nodded, his face still showing his sadness. We both opened dark clouds, and as I let go of Riku's hand, I turned and walked into my cloud-not looking back.

The mansion was cold, and empty. Wind caused the sound of rustling leaves to echo through-out the house. I sat in the mansion's library- picking up the old books and dusting them off. I let out a sigh as I glanced around the room, thinking of what to do. "I have no choice-I'm out of time," I said, as I started to stand up. Before I could, my head began pounding again-and more memories flooded over me.

The merman looked at Sora, his crown was shining in the sunlight that hit the water. 'As the Key bearer, you must already know. One must not meddle in the affairs of other worlds,' he warned…

'So many places I want to see…I know I'll get there someday' a redheaded Mermaid said, spinning around Sora…

The half-man, half-goat looked at Sora, Donald and Goofy and cracked a smile. 'Thus, I do hereby dub thee junior heroes' he said as Donald and Sora's mouths hung open. 'Hey! What do you mean 'Junior' Heroes?' Donald said, glaring at the guy. 'You rookies still don't understand what it takes to be a true hero,' the guy replied as Sora got ready to protest…

The boy looked up at his blue genie friend, he had on off white pants, and a purple vest. 'I…I wish…for your freedom, Genie' he said, smiling at his friend. 'Al!' the genie said, shocked, yet, excited and touched…

The tall, lanky, skeleton walked over to the girl, who seemed to be made of different things. He took her hand in his and looked down at her. 'Sally, why didn't I listen to you?' he said as the girl smiled. 'Don't feel bad, Jack. We'll come up with another plan for Halloween. Next time, we'll do it together,' she said, as the two hugged…

Sora, after defeating a terrible dragon, slams his Keyblade into the ground. "Power!' he yells, as everything turns white…

The black haired girl smiled at Sora, as a little red dragon jumped out from behind her. 'I am Mushu!' it said, as Sora looked down at him…

The room was dark as Riku smirked. 'Or are you too cool to play them now that you have the Keyblade?' he asked, as Sora looked at him wide-eyed. "Riku! What are you doing here? Did you find her?" Sora asked, as Riku glared back…

Sora, Donald, and Goofy flew through the sky and landed on a huge clock tower, along with a little fairy and another boy dressed in all green. "I still can't believe it. I really flew. Wait 'til I tell Kai-' Sora then stopped and looked down. 'I wonder if she'll believe me,' he said, before looking out into the night sky as he added 'Probably not,'…

A blonde haired man looked at Sora, they were in what appeared to be a big coliseum, and had been having a serious conversation. 'I'm searching too,' Sora said, looking at him. 'For your light?' the man asked, as Sora, Donald and Goofy all nodded. 'Don't lost sight of it,' the blonde man said.

Sora started walking off, leaving the area he was currently at. The sun was shining brightly there, and there were butterflies and flowers everywhere. 'Sora, where are you going?' a little pink piglet asked. "I'm gonna go look for my friends. They're waiting for me,' he replied, before walking off…

Sora looked around after the darkness faded, and saw that he was on a boat, alone. He then looked up and saw Riku and glared at him. 'Where are Donald and Goofy?!' he yelled, making his Keyblade appear. 'Instead of worrying about them, you should be asking about her,' Riku replied as Sora's eyes got wide…

I stood up slowly, as I breathed heavily. "Time's up Xion, you have to do it," I said, forcing myself to walk over to the desk in the other room. I pulled out a sheet of paper and began to write-what I assumed would be my last letter to Riku. Once I finished writing it, I went back to the island and placed it in a more obvious spot-in the hopes that he would see it. I then opened a dark cloud, and headed towards Twilight Town.

"Xion! Stop! Just come back," Axel yelled, as we stood in front of the gates to the mansion. I had walked out of the mansion, ready to confront Roxas-but Axel had found me first. We both were panting, as I gripped the handle of my Keyblade tightly. We had fought-just enough to wear us down a bit, and now we were having a stand off. "Axel-just let me go!" I yelled, glarring into Axel's green eyes. I was tired, and I was looking more and more like Sora. I kept my hood up, making sure it was tight and wasn't going to fall. "Fine! But if you run-i will find you and I'll bring you back!" Axel yelled, as I quickly ran past him. It was then I realzied that if we had hearts-that I had just broken Axel's. "You're an amazing friend Axel, I'm sorry," I said under my breath, as I ran towards the train station where Roxas was.

"Roxas! We have to end this! We're not supposed to exist!" I yelled, as Roxas stopped and faced me. "What?" he asked, as I held my Keyblade out. "Fight me!" I yelled, as Roxas looked at me, unsure of what to do. "Why? You're my friend," he said, as I shot a fire attack at him. "Fight me!" I yelled again, as Roxas dodged the fire attack. "I won't fight you!" he yelled, as I sighed. "Roxas, I'm sorry," I said, as I cast confusion on him. Roxas starred at me, shocked, and within moments, the spell had taken affect. I knew we had to defeat each other, I just hoped that I knew what I was doing. I needed Roxas to kill me, but I needed him to go with me. As he rushed towards me to attack, I attacked back. We fought, for what felt like ages. For every attack I hit him with, he dodged just as many. We were equal in skill, or so I had thought-but it was then I saw everything collapsing in front of me. Roxas cast a defense spell on himself, and in that moment I saw what needed to happen-i needed to vanish, and I needed to let Roxas fight on his own. I couldn't end him, and I knew soon the spell would wear off- so I did what I needed to do. Roxas rushed towards me, preparing to attack, and I let my guard down, and I quit defending myself. He attacked with all his might, and I felt myself fading away. Roxas cast a fire spell, and as soon as the fireball headed towards me, I could see the confusion spell wear off, and Roxas's eyes got wide. "No!" he yelled, as I looked up. On top of the clocktower, watching, was Riku- who had his hood down. I could see the sun reflect off the tears on his cheek as the attack hit me-sending me flying backwards. I then collapsed to the ground, defeated.

Roxas rushed over and got down on his legs, placing my head on his lap. "Xion, no, I'm sorry," he said, as I looked up at him-feeling myself growing weaker and weaker. "Roxas, you and Axel...you two are my best friends...I'm sorry...I'm sorry I tricked you...Sora...he's meant to be here...we're not real...we're not supposed to exist...he needs his memories to wake up," I said, realizing I was having a hard time breathing. "I wish I had a heart, I wish I could feel something...Roxas, please save him, help Sora," I said, as I shut my eyes. I could hear Roxas trying to wake me up, and I could feel a tear hit my face-falling from Roxas. "Goodbye Roxas," I said, before I slowly vanished, turning back into the memories that would find their way to Sora.

Standing ontop of the clock tower, Riku gripped the letter in his hand. He tried to control his breathing, as tears continued to fall from his eyes. "I'm sorry Xion, I'm so sorry," he said, as he looked down at the letter in his hand.

Riku,

by the time you read this-I'll be confronting Roxas. I hope you can get Sora back, I know how much he means to you. I've seen his memories, and I know it wasn't your fault- don't blame yourself. His memories are his, and I'm returning them to him.
And Riku, I know now, without a doubt, that if
I could feel- I'd love you. And if I had a heart, it would belong to you.
