A/N: The next two chapters are pretty short but I hope that everything is going the way you guys are okay with!
Tobias's POV
I'd been knocked out in Dr. Smith's officce with bullet proof windows. I found that out when I discovered a gun in her desk and shot the windows, the door, even the walls. The bullets just bounced off to the dismay of my shoulder, which got hit. I had already recovered.
(Thankfully, Emily Jo's family had decided to show up and save our asses but I didn't know that yet.)
I smelt the smoke filling the room. There was a small amount of panic set inside me. That was natural though, from both the human and werewolf side of me. As the smoke filled the room, I continued shooting off the gun until the bullets were all gone. Beginning to get frustrated and woozy from the lack of clean air, I threw the gun at the window with an angered yell. I heard a slight shatter noise.
Running over to the window, I saw that I had, in fact, cracked it.
'Sure it's bullet proof but not werewolf proof..'
Suddenly, Emily Jo's aunt Maya showed up in front of me.
"Are you okay?" She mouthed to me. I nodded my head but at the same time, coughed. I pulled my hand away from my mouth and saw a small amount of blood. Maya's eyebrows raised and she called to someone. Two of Emily Jo's other two uncles Daniel and Ash came into my weakening view. Also another girl who I reconized ran up behind them. She worked here as a maid. J-J-Jazlyn.
Before I could warn them, Daniel ran up beside Maya and waved me back.
"Hide," he mouthed. I searched the room and hid behind the desk. All I could hear was a high pitched scream and glass bits hitting the ground.
"Tobias?" Maya called into the room, coughing from the wave of black smoke leaving the building.
"H-here" I responded, coughing up blood again. My vision was getting worse.
'I never knew fire's smoke gave this much effect on a person. There is something seriously wrong with this smoke..'
"Come on dude, let's get you out of here. Emily Jo needs your help." Ash said to me as he and Daniel pulled me up. Out of the building, my breathing and sight to normal.
"Tobias, are you alright?" I felt a hand be put under my chin. Eyes now watering trying to recover themselves, I saw Mrs. Souza standing in front of me.
"Fine. Where's Em?" I asked, clearing my throat. I had to spit to the side. There was still blood coming up.
"Around back," Simon walked up beside Mrs. Souza, "she was fighting with Derek and Cody. There are some other contacts there too."
"I need to go help her," I tried to walk away but Mrs. Souza and Simon both grabbed hold of me.
"Look, Tobias I know you feel compelled to help her and protect her because she's your ma-"
"She's your girlfriend," Mrs. Souza gave Simon a glare, "I know you love my daughter but we need you to help us. Simon, Maya, Jazzlyn and Daniel are going around to the fight and help. Myself, Ash, and you are going to ride ahead and try to get some of them to follow us to a different safe house." I looked around. The flames shot out of the roof, along with smoke. There were some yelling from the other side of the house. Maya, Daniel, Jazzlyn, and Simon were already gone.
I rested my gaze on Ash, and Mrs. Souza.
"Alright," I replied, "let's go."
