A/N: Here is chapter 10, hope you enjoy it.
Back at the hospital, Unser was questioning Tara. Tara wasn't sure what information she should be sharing, she she chose to keep quiet. She knew that the club could handle whatever was going on, and wasn't aware of Unser's loyalty to the club. Kohn hadn't made an appearance since earlier that day, but Tara wasn't at ease with anything yet. There was still so much at stake, and she didn't want to get caught in the middle of someone else's shit again. Tara was beginning to realize that she was just a pawn in a game that Gemma was playing.
Unser had excused himself to get some coffee, and Donna took the opportunity to ask Tara some more questions.
"You said earlier that you were forced out of Charming. Does that mean shit was bad before you left?"
Tara shifted uncomfortably. She just wanted this whole situation to be over. But instead she had to constantly relive the experience. She couldn't fault Donna but she still was unnerved by it all.
"Yeah. Gemma must have found out about mine and Jax's plans to get married. She didn't like it very much and was very adamant about me leaving town. She saw my crow tattoo and flipped shit. She cornered me outside the club house one day and started hitting me. Clay broke it up but not before Gemma got some good shots in. She told me if I didn't leave town right away, she'd finish what she started. She said if she had no hesitancy in killing her husband she can do it to "some slut that her son was fucking". Clay just looked at me and shook his head, but backed up what she said. Instead of staying and telling Jax anything, I just left. I knew how sensitive he was about his fathers death and I didn't want to have to be the one to tell him about Gemma's involvement with John." Tara finished sadly.
"Jesus Christ Tara. How bad could things possibly get?! I mean, you have to tell everyone this stuff. I know they have a lot going on with Gemma right now, but this involves Gemma too. THey can easily take care of all of this at one time." Donna said, trying to get Tara to see reason.
"Donna. If Piney killed Opie's mom, would you be able to look your husband in the eye and tell him that? Tell him that the one person in life who was supposed to love and protect without question, killed your other parent? Could you do that and not be afraid of how he would react? If he would even believe you." Tara knew she had Donna there and Donna decided not to ask anymore questions.
Unser came back in the room quickly.
"Hey, Jax just called. They got a lot of shit on Gemma that she can't get out of. They won't be able to make it here for a while. I'm not sure why he didn't call you himself, but if I know Jax, it's because he's feeling guilty about everything."
Tara sighed. "Jax has no reason to feel any guilt. His mother did this, and he is nothing like his mother."
-FTTTF-
Back at the clubhouse, everyone had separated and were trying to calm each other down. There was a lot of information that was given, and now everyone knew that Gemma was a lying bitch.
Jax came back to Opie after he finished his phone call with Wayne. Opie was looking intently at the TV that fed through the security system. There were two men approaching, and one was a uniformed police officer.
"Um Jax, I hate to say this, but that's the guy that came to Tara's hospital room. The fucking ATF agent. He's with, what I assume, is Hale. You have to remain calm and hear him out. You can't shoot him, or you'll have to shoot Hale too. And that'd be bad for the club."
Jax knew Opie was right, but he couldn't help the anger in him as he sat at the bar waiting for them to enter.
"Guys, we got incoming." Opie yelled, and everyone convened in the main room.
It took another minute, but Hale and Kohn entered through the side door. Hale had his hand on his gun holster, but Kohn was the epitome of calm. If he had any idea what these men were capable of, he wouldn't be so blase about the whole thing.
"What can we do for you, Hale?" Clay asked, level headed.
"Agent Kohn here would like to speak to Gemma."
Gemma tried to hide herself behind some of the members, but they weren't willing to hide her.
"Gemma, why are you handcuffed?" Hale asked, walking up behind her to undo them.
"Oh, it's fine. She's into that kind of shit." Jax bit back.
"Ah, Ms. Teller, nice to see you again. It's been too long." Josh laughed, knowing he was getting Gemma into hot water.
"Do I know you?" Gemma asked lamely, trying to play dumb.
"Well, if you don't recognize me, you might recognize this." He then pulled out a small blue folder that was notorious for holding deals made with feds.
"Here's the problem though, Gemma. That's not enough for me. I'm sorry, but I'm relinquishing your rights to make the deal, and you will not be under any protective custody from any agencies. I'm sorry that it came to this, but we are looking for much more. Turning in Jax for burning down that Mayan warehouse just won't cut it. Thought, now we know his involvement, it'll help in later cases."
Jax was furious. He knew he needed to be held on something, and that crime could link him to the murders of at least a half dozen men. The Mayan/Sons war was relatively quiet for now, but it was still raging.
"You son of a bitch. Your only doing this because Tara now knows about everything. You couldn't just do what you had to do! No, you had to have your precious Tara back. What is it with this girl, does she have a pussy made of gold?"
Hale stepped back, staring between the Kohn and Gemma.
"Tara? Tara Knowles? What does she have to do with this?" He asked, confused.
"Nothing Hale. Just go home. Nothing is going on."
"Last time you said that Jax, I had two dead bodies in a drain ditch just outside of city limits. Don't fuck with me on this. What happened to Tara?"
"She's in the hospital," Piney spoke up.
"Here in Charming?"
"Yeah, St. Thomas. You should go down there and ask her for yourself. She will tell you what is going on." Jax smiled as both Kohn and Gemma had the decency to look a little scared about that.
"Kohn, let's go. I'm not comfortable leaving you here alone." Hale said as he pulled him out of the clubhouse. Jax was hoping that he would leave him here, and Jax could just shoot him now, instead of prolonging it.
Everyone turned to Gemma with anger and resignation in their eyes.
"How could you, Gem. That is your son there. You turned on the two things that would never let you down; your son and this club. But that's where the problem lies. This club is getting ready to let you down. You know how we handle rats and how we handle people who are a threat to this club. I know I voted nay initially, but whatever happens next, Jax has my full support." Bobby said, walking back to the chapel.
"Clay! Clay you can't let them do this! You are just as responsible as I am. You don't want the club out of guns. The money is too good and with Jax not having his head on straight, this club would be changed. You know that. I couldn't have that girl coming in, fucking his head up even more. She would have ruined everything. So I used my head, just like you always tell me to. I used my head and tracked down that ex of hers. The deal we made was for him to kill that little tart, in exchange for me giving details that would send Jax away for a while. Enough time for you to keep the club on track and get it completely away from where the deadbeat John wanted-" There was a loud bang and Gemma dropped to the floor.
Everyone halted and turned to look at Jax, who was pointing a gun in his mothers direction. He didn't kill her, he knew that. He was a good shot and hit her in the shoulder. He just wanted to shut her up. He couldn't take anymore of the constant degrading of him or his father. His father was the best men he had ever known, the other bad choice John ever made was Gemma.
"Jax! What did you do?!" Clay asked him, angrily.
"She's fine, as you can tell from her harpy scream from the floor. I shot her in the shoulder. Trust me, when I shoot to kill her, I won't miss my target."
A/N: alright guys, here is the next installment. Kind of picked up pace! Didn't want to kill Gemma quite yet :P Let me know what you think! 3
