Leap Of The Foolish
oOo
"Why are we doing this again?" Logan asked, leaning slightly over the edge of the bridge, his face paling slightly at the height.
"Because we never back down?" It was more a question than a statement, as CeCe tugged at the rope tied around her middle. She fervently hoped they two of them were really secured. She didn't even want to think of the alternative.
Logan snorted, preferring to keep his eyes on his girlfriend than on what they were about to do. "That's not it. It's because we are morons."
CeCe pursed her lips, but as they were about to jump from a twenty three feet height bridge with only a rope holding the two of them, there wasn't much room to argue. "It was your own fault."
"Was not!" He said quickly, not caring how childish he sounded. "Flynn is your brother!"
"But you were the one who got into a silly bet with him, now didn't you?"
He couldn't argued with that. Flynn and Logan had a nice little bet going. Each one had to complete a dare set by the other, the first one to back out would lose. Which each dare more money was added to the final pot. Initially between the two skaters boy, as the dares got more atrocious, humiliating and dangerous, more people had gotten involve, making bets on the side. Even their parents, who were in freaking law enforcement officials, had money ridding on it. "You didn't have to come." Logan reminded her.
"And lose my money?" CeCe, ever the dutiful girlfriend had bet on Logan. Flynn had been insulted at that. Claiming CeCe as a traitor and as a way to get back at her, made it so CeCe was on the next bet. Since she wasn't technically part of the original agreement, she could have back out, but that would have meant that Logan wouldn't fully complete his dare, thus making him the loser. "It's the principle of it." Said the red head, trying to hold onto her pride.
"Yeah well, we will make him pay next time."
CeCe agreed, having already started to write a long list of dares to make her little brother suffer. The instructor came that moment, stopping their conversation. "You two ready?" Both of them shook their heads at once. "You know you don't have to do this, right?"
Logan and CeCe looked over the instructor's shoulder, their friends and family had all gathered there to watch first hand whether they complete their dare or balk. "We are not giving them the satisfaction." Said CeCe sounding as fierce as she could.
"Well then, Show time!"
Taking a deep breath of air, CeCe turned towards her boyfriend, finding his hand and entwining their fingers together. "Ready?"
"I don't think I would ever be ready." He shook his head and squeezed CeCe's hand.
"At least we don't have to jump alone." She said, sending a nervous smile at him.
Making sure too keep his eyes on hers rather than on the long drop, Logan suddenly grinned. "As long as you are besides me, I would jump into hell itself."
"Aww." She smiled, feeling her heart melt. "Really?"
"Of course not." Logan said quickly, then chuckled when CeCe scowled. "But I'm glad I'm not jumping alone."
With a snort, she slapped Logan's shoulder. "Well, if we die, let's become ghost and haunt Flynn for eternity."
He made an 'hmm' sound with his mouth before taking CeCe's hand back on his. "That's a nice thought. Us being together as ghost lovers for eternity. Don't you think?"
"Of course not. If I become a ghost I'm dumping you. I will spend eternity Haunting Taylor Lautner." Logan was about to retort when their instructor started to count down for them. The quick burst of humor between them replaced once more by anxiety and excitement. "Jump with me." CeCe asked him, squeezing his hand, even though that had been their plan all along. Logan understood, precisely what she meant.
"Always, Red."
