Hannah's story

Hannah is a young girl who is coming to work at Downton as a maid. There, she meets Thomas Barrow. Although him and Hannah don't get on at first, the young man starts to wonder about himself and his nature. This story is about their relationship and the troubles they both face. Through this story, we are also given an answer on 'How things would be if Thomas was straight'.

A new maid arrives in Downton and she's extremely nervous. As the young woman walks towards the enormous building, she stops to admire it. She felt goosepumps all over her body and her nervousness, became panic. She tried to hold it together but it was nearly impossible as she had never worked in a place like this before. She used to work for humble homes mostly. When the woman calmed down a little bit, she tried to revise her words: "Hello everyone! I'm Hannah and I came here because... No, that's not right!" She started again: "Hello, I'm Hannah the new maid. Pleased to meet you all." Satisfied by her second try, she started walking again. She knew that all she needed for now was courage...
